Schaps has released the private beta TouchExperience and Windows Phone Device Manager....Maybe other developers can work with this program and make things happen even more than what we already have to work with.

You can initiate connection from both PC and device (tap PC Synchronization in TouchXperience to etablish connection from device). You can connect via USB or Wi-Fi, but the first time you have to connect via USB so WP Device Manager can deploy TouchXperience and your device can get your PC IP address.
In the current version you can't manually set the PC or phone IP address to connect, or change default ports.
Make sure port 8007 is not blocked by firewall on PC and port 8107 is reachable on device.
When WP Device Manager initiate a connection, if it can't connect to the phone, in case you are connected via USB it will launch TouchXperience, in other cases it will send a push notification to your phone asking you to manually launch TouchXperience
Some tasks requires that your phone screen is unlocked
It is not necessary to have Zune runing in order to use WP Device Manager.
If you have connection problems, try the following may help: unplug/replug your phone, close or start Zune, restart WP Device Manager, make sure your device is detected by Zune.
In order to use WP Device Manager from Windows Device Stage, you must have Windows 7 and driver signature verification disabled, unfortunately this is because Windows 7 recognize only digitally signed drivers.
Here is a registry fix for ppl having connection problems:
This thing doesn't work on all WP7 devices and is a pure HTC only app for the most part (good editable part)..On my DVP, the moment i connect the device, it crashes.
Neverthless, the developer has to get credit for the work he has done and support him.
Not sure what errors you may be getting when it crashes? It currently supports the following devices:
HTC HD7, HTC 7 Mozart, HTC 7 Trophy, HTC 7 Surround, HTC 7 Pro, HTC Arrive, HTC HD2, Samsung Focus, Samsung Omnia 7, Dell Venue Pro, LG Optimus 7, LG E900, LG C900.
I had connection problems when he first released to beta testers but that was at first...but all was worked out in the 2nd version..

wow, nice. works here on LG Quantum (C900). thanks for the post.
edit: Capture only works within TouchExperience, not when I go out of it to the phone's native menu. in fact, it disconnects the phone when I do that (by design?).
when i install it says i need version 1.3.2 to connect. then one to download is 1.3.0

my LG Quantum C900 has some messages that come up like:
unable to launch TouchXperience
and when i launch it manualy i get:
TouchXperience version 1.2.3.0 or later is required
tried all the restart/reset stuff, nothing is working. did you have to do anything with yours?

Go into settings and enable multitasking, then you should be able to capture

If you are not able to connect or if some features are not properly working, go to Settings in WP Device Manager, click Restore default settings and restart your PC...Also try delete touchexperience from phone then reconnect to pc and let it download and install it again to device to try get error about 1.3.2 as the current version is 1.3.0 for public release and beta testers is 1.3.2 i do believe ...sometimes it trys to look for updates and gives error, but all should be fine within the program after that error.

It's not there, go to the main menu (the one with PC Connection, Airplane mode, etc) tap the menu title and a menu will appear, tap settings and enable multitasking from inside there.

I was having this same problem and here is a great tip that might save some of you headaches.
1: If you are on windows x64 go grab a program called EasyBCD Install it and in the advance settings go to advanced and tick the box that says "Allow installation of unsigned drivers in x64"
2: Remember to install the windows phone developer tools if you haven't already.
3: Turn Zune on before loading the program and Run The Device Manager as Administrator.
Program does not crash and works great with my HTC

ah, talk to a beginner. thanks for this. wasn't obvious to me to tap that (although I am used to on my Zune ).
It must have taken the phone a while to adopt the settings. After a minute or so it was working. Thanks again!
how is the multitasking support? Does it work pretty well?
Nice ale broken -

If you are not able to connect or if some features are not properly working, go to Settings in WP Device Manager, click Restore default settings and eventually restart your PC.
If you get a message "TouchXperience version 1.2.3.0 or later is required" it means Device Manager is not able to communicate with TouchXperience, to solve the problem, go to Settings in WP Device Manager, click Restore default settings and restart your PC.
So, I rooted my device only a few days after getting it, and apparently there is an essential update for the Media Hub app. When I launch the app, it tries to redirect me to the market, but the market displays "No Results Found." I located the app on the desktop market it's named com.sdgtl.mediahub.tmo.vplus but it will not allow me to download it because it says none of my devices are compatible. The description of the app explicitly states that it is only for T-Mobile 4G devices and lists the Galaxy S II. I can only deduce that it does not recognize my device as compatible due to being rooted. I have searched the web but the only versions of Media Hub that I have found are those compatible with other carriers and devices. My device was rooted with Odin using the method detailed on this site, and I am not running a custom ROM. If someone knows of a way to get around downloading this from the market, another location I can download it from, or would be able to provide me with an option I haven't considered, it would be most appreciated.
Thanks
I've never been able to get my HTC Desire to sync (either to my PC or to my google online account), but now that it's 5 years old and time to upgrade it, I'd like to backup everything (well, phone book, contacts, etc) to my PC, and reload it to the new phone.
I've downloaded the latest sync manager from HTC and installed it, but the manager just says "no phone connected" and the phone says that it can't find the manager - even though windows 7 said that the driver was installing and was OK to use.
I did some research and found that this is not an uncommon problem. Apparantly the Desire is incompatible with the latest sync manager version so my question is, what version should I be looking for and where can I download it? Thanks
i recently updated the software to lates Miui 12.06. after reboot. i started getting alot of issues
1. sim activation problem
2. constant reboot due to google apps.
so i disabled mi cloud and then no more issue with sim activation but the phone is still randomly restarting.
so i have done multiple factory reset and still no solution.
so wanted to flash the stock rom but not able to find it; the one i want to download is the global version but the link is broken (this is from official Miui site)
if anyone have any solution please share.
hello. i am on 12.06 too, so far i have enabled usb debugging on this phone and put it in ADB mode using windows powershell and then i run Xiaomi ADBFastboot tools concurrently. i have disabled a lot of stuff that i thought i didnt use from the fastboot tools. only calendar, playstore and photos left and what ever similar app i can get from fdroid i, disabled the Mi application. i got myself a blokada to block ads. happy for now. i did have sim not detect at one point, i removed the sim 1, gave it a good rub of eraser, make sure its flat, and then resit and make sure sim toolkit is there, happy campers there
