I want to buy for my fire phone for front and back tempered glass 9H, anyone knows some good offers? I found some mikvon tempered glass for 8$ front + 8$ back on ebay and amazon and from aliexpress 1-2$ just for screen. The leather case from amazon is good? I am new here, and new user of fire phone( 125$ new)
Not sure what ones are good, but make sure the one you get has a hole cut out for the proximity sensor on the front of the phone. Otherwise when you get a call your screen will turn off because it thinks it is up to your face.
Do you mean the 4 holes of cameras? in sunlight near them i saw some violet sensor in the back of glass

No those are for the 3D effect on some stuff for stock FireOS. I mean near the top of the phone there is a proximity sensor.
the area that needs a cutout is right underneath the selfie camera on the front. in the top right corner. You can't really see the proximity sensor, unless you get really strong light and you can kind of make it out through the glass.
I had bought a screen protector from Volt that worked well . I had bought another one which didn't have the cutout, and it was a disaster (couldn't hang up after a phone call).

I know it sound stupid, but the camera lens does stick out. Is there anything out there that can protect it from getting scratch up?
Typically screen protectors have holes in them for the cameras.
With that said, I am not aware of any. Once i get a case for the device, I am hoping that will extend just a hair past the camera so that it is recessed.
About 99% sure there won't be any. No one wants a film over the lens. Well , mostly no one. Present company excluded.
I have used bestskinsever.com full body on my G1. Covers the camera lens, it does not affect the quality of the camera.
Well the phone does not SIT ON THE LENS....It does sit on the ring around the lens... so we should be fine
looking at mine the lense seems to protrude form the ring.
i found camera phone lense protectors at a store called daiso near my house. only $1.50

Yes, it does...look closely.
Just get either the Body Glove case or Seidio Innocase II and that will fix the camera lens problem. The lens now won't be exposed.
Martin fields screen protectors used to have little pieces they include with their screen protectors for exposed camera surfaces...i dunno if they're gonna make a screen protector for the Evo though
I make my own lense protector.
1. Trace outline
2. Put over extra screen protector from a 5 pack and cut.
So I'm not sure if this is for everyone, but on my T-Mobile edge plus, there was a plastic protector covering the flash and other sensors. It was a little difficult to remove. But after doing so, I'm positive the flash is brighter and fuller. Also I think the heart rate sensor is faster now. Just sharing my find.
Bloody hell, thank you! I just peeled mine off.
Cant tell if minehas one on it lol

If you purchased the phone brand new never opened in retail box then you have
the little transparent plastic film which covers the flash led & heart rate monitor.
It comes off easy enough by simply using your fingernails.
Good luck,
Have a great day!
I did purchase it brand new at store but they ppened it there so i dont know mybe they took it off

They would not take it off, why would they?
Just start scraping the top or bottom edges of the
led with your fingernail and it comes off easily.
I know the led LOOKS like it has no plastic film
but it really does.
Good luck,

I can't tell is the camera has one also.... Does it lol? Thanks for the top btw
Thanks, I never noticed the plastic. :good:
I love peeling the plastic off electronics. It's like my disneyland
How did that get there? Just peeled mine off. Thank you!
I have another Samsung secret to reveal. Hilariously, I have confirmed that store demos of this phone have this plastic covering on the LED and sensors (I'm talking the fake ones on stands in target even). So if peeling this off gets you going, by all means free those fake phones from their protective plastic next time you shop.
i found out at the store..i always take a good look before taking it home with me
I knew about the plastic film, but I left it on because of early reports that it's not actually glass covering the flash/heart rate sensor
I figure I'd rather scratch the removable plastic film then the plastic cover itself
mine had it lol
I peeled off the plastic rather easily, and I thought there was another plastic underneath it Cuz I already saw some scratches on it. Poked around with a wooden toothpick trying to peel it off and it looks all scratched up now. Is the led and sensor cover a piece of plastic or glass?
Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk
It is plastic, scratches on it will only lightly hurt the throw of the LED flash. The heart rate sensor will be close to unaffected by any level of scratches. I believe the last one is a proximity sensor (correct me if I'm wrong), and that would be largely unaffected by scratches as well.
That is the proximity sensor and scratches should not noticeably affect any of the 3 things listed.
I never would have known that was there lol Thanks
Well hot damn! I just removed one of the heart rate sensor....No wonder the damn thing didn't work right all the time! Thanks for this
I must say that this is the reason my heart rate sensor was acting wonky. I don't really use the sensor so the plastic will stay on. It's not even that noticeable. The scratches are however and I hate my phone looking all jacked up.
I need some help in choosing a tempered glass for this phone.
The first one I bought was away from the edges. I bought a second that covers the whole screen but as it only glues on the edges it has a big spot in the center of the screen.
Someone can tell me a tempered glass that sticks all over the screen and covers it completly?
Thanks!!
From my experience , just do not order the ones with the black/white frames that cover the whole front . They have really low quality glass that tints the display to gray when the screen is off. The other ones that are cut ( for the camera and speaker on the top ) do not reach from side to side but are better . I just got a plastic one and it works much better than the "tampered glass" ones.

it glues in all the screen or just on the edges?
Cover all the screen?
Thanks
the best glass and screen protector brand is Nillkin, try it, have best quality!
Just received my case from AliExpress.
Very thin and first impressions are favourable although I'm tempted to put a thin clear film over the joint between the case and mini screen in the corner in case the edge flexes and scratches the screen.
Construction is a very thin hardshell rear with a plastic flip and a smoked translucent corner on the front.
Clearance for the cameras on the rear is minimal.
There's a small square magnet visible on the flip below the widow for the hall sensor to let out acts as a smart cover.
Using miui12 always on screen and smart case options gives a small clock and battery indicator in the window.
Can see the height difference between the Xiaomi smart cover and the leather case I had before.
The orange is muted and the Matt dark grey of the phone holder contrasts nicely.
Hopefully the mi10 won't get as warm with this case as it did with the leather one!
Does it affect (reduce) the screen on lateral ?

What do you mean by lateral?
That might not have translated well
The screen turns off when you close the case and turns on when you open it.
I highly suggest not using this case! it leaves a mark on your display exactly where the glass plastic part begins. because it is not perfectly flush with the leather part.
I used mine for about a week and have a permanent scratch on the display the entire length of the plastic window.

That's not good!
Mine the plastic is recessed away from the screen slightly so it shouldn't make contact.
I put a piece of clear gorilla tape over the joint anyway
I take it you don't have a screen protector fitted?
Mine came with one

nope mine did not come with a protector! which is odd cause everyone got theirs with a protector already applied. At the time I assumed this product would protect the display until my glass gets here but... it did the opposite -_-
I don't use this case even now that i have the glass on my phone because it limits the ways I can use it.
It looks dumb when taking photos because the thing just flaps in the air also cannot use my gimbal or my bike mount. all in all not my best purchase

I can't believe plastic is able to scratch the gorilla glass display.
"Glass scratches at a level 6 with deeper grooves at a level 7". -Jerryrig
I would guess you have an screen protector. I didn't see mine at first because ist sits perfect.
Looking at the notch is where i could see it on my phone.

Be my guest and try for yourself. I don't know the technical term but the screen has some sort of coating as it's top most layer and the case made a permanent mark on the glass if you clean it perfectly it's not visible. But as soon as you touch the display that part will get dirty almost instantly. Another example, if i use an alcohol wipe the outline of the window on the display retains moisture and the rest does not. So call it what you want but this case damages your display.
my solution was to clean the display perfectly and put a "Hydrogel" (marketing BS for plastic foil) on top. I totally forgot about it until you quoted my post
Oh you mean the oleo phobic coating. Been there already because i was so "smart" and had washed my first smartphone display with dishwashing soap and was wondering why it was getting dirty even after cleaning.
Later I found a solution:
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Restore+or+Apply+an+Oleophobic+Coating/9682
I've had 2 different screen protectors now from differing suppliers on eBay.
The protectors themselves I'm happy with, but both are probably at least 5mm too small (height and width), although they are advertised as for the Pixel 5.
Eg. If I line the protector up pretty much to the top of the screen, then the bottom will line up where the swipe up white line is at the bottom of the screen, so at least 5 or 6mm short in my opinion.
Is anyone else on here using a tempered glass protector, and how are you finding the fit?
Can anyone recommend one that actually covers more of the screen?
Cheers
I have the spigen alignmaster for a day now and it fits nearly perfect, just about 0,5mm too small in every direction
Way back in October i bought a set of screen protectors for my Pixel 5 and all 3 in the pack ended up in the bin. Bubbles galore and badly aligned camera cut outs.
Yesterday i fitted a Spigen one and it went on perfect with the protector fitting up to the start of the bezels , very happy with it indeed.
Hope the spigen protectors will come back in stock

Do you have any pics to show what it looks like? I have a cheap Amazon glass screen protector which has around a 2mm gap around which I'm happy with. If the Spigen covers more of the screen I will get that instead.
Looking at the pictures though it seems the Spigen doesn't have a selfie camera cutout? It seems if the selfie camera is covered it has a pretty big impact on the quality of the pics.
Edit: Actually looking at some Youtube videos, it covers only the display part and not the bezel, like most of the screen protectors so I'll be sticking with mine.

I took some outstanding selfies with the Spigen protector on yesterday, it doesn't affect the quality.
Also, having come from a protector with a cutout, I prefer it being covered because now there isn't a dust trap around the camera due to the protector edge.

The bezel has a slight curve though so the screen protector would be lifted up and you wouldn't get a perfect seal.
I'm with Stringy on the cut out as well it is better not to have one, the ones i tried did not sit perfectly around the camera, they were always slightly off centre and it quickly trapped dust.

Weirdly i thought it improved call quality, it gave the call audio a bit of depth and seems to have removed some of the tinniness.
Anyone use LK glasses from Amazon? I bought a pack of three and I would like to know how good they are; Are they cover usable screen?
Edit: Received them today. Very good tempered glass, good quality (not the best) very easy to install with the plastic tool, no problem with the camera hole. Fits perfectly.
