I know it sound stupid, but the camera lens does stick out. Is there anything out there that can protect it from getting scratch up?
Typically screen protectors have holes in them for the cameras.
With that said, I am not aware of any. Once i get a case for the device, I am hoping that will extend just a hair past the camera so that it is recessed.
About 99% sure there won't be any. No one wants a film over the lens. Well , mostly no one. Present company excluded.
I have used bestskinsever.com full body on my G1. Covers the camera lens, it does not affect the quality of the camera.
Well the phone does not SIT ON THE LENS....It does sit on the ring around the lens... so we should be fine
looking at mine the lense seems to protrude form the ring.
i found camera phone lense protectors at a store called daiso near my house. only $1.50

Yes, it does...look closely.
Just get either the Body Glove case or Seidio Innocase II and that will fix the camera lens problem. The lens now won't be exposed.
Martin fields screen protectors used to have little pieces they include with their screen protectors for exposed camera surfaces...i dunno if they're gonna make a screen protector for the Evo though
I make my own lense protector.
1. Trace outline
2. Put over extra screen protector from a 5 pack and cut.

I noticed a clear plastic cover over my new Vibrant camera lens, and wondered if I should take it off. the corner is already tabbing up, but since the lens isn't gorilla glass like the screen, scratches may ensue and screw up the camera.
Should I leave it on, apply some clear tape, or leave it alone? I do have a silicon case with a window for the lens.
Hmm, I didn't have any plastic cover over the lens on mine. Any cover on the lens would probably degrade image quality. I would take it off, but if you haven't noticed any blurry pictures, leave it on I guess. The case should protect the lense if you take it off though.
It sounds like a good idea, but who knows...I haven't found anything on the web or ebay yet.
If you purchase a screen protector from RealLook, they include a camera lens protector too.
You have to ask for it though. They will not charge you extra.
how would you do that if you got it on amazon
Lol

i would imagine over time the protector would degrade the image quality....so id say take it off and keep it off
In your purchase, you can send the seller a "NOTE"
In the note, you ask them to send you a few extra camera protectors.
If not, call them after you make the order and let them know that' what you want.
Cheers

I run my vibrant totally nude. Screen is still scratch free, but I do have a small scratch over the corner of the camera lens. It doesn't affect the image fortunately but perhaps something to keep in mind.
My lens is nude. I have been heavily using this phone for a couple months now and it appears to be scratch free so far.
Can anyone recommend a good dry application screen protector? I've seen a few, and there's loads on eBay, but I want to use one that someone actually has on their GN
Ideally I'm looking for it to cover the whole screen minus the camera lens and speaker grill
Martin Fields is supposed to be good, but their Galaxy Nexus screen protector covers the front-facing camera lens. I've also heard good things about the seller "dcmugen88" on eBay (his stuff is 1/3 the price of MF), but his GN protectors leave basically the entire top part of the front above the speaker and camera open.
Used MF on my Desire and it was fine but tried it on my Sensation and it was terrible! I wanna stay away from wet application SPs as I don't trust the liquid
I've been using dry protector called BHB ScreenGuard Professional. I picked it up from a local shop for £2. You get one protector in the packet along with a small microfibre cloth.
It covers the front and has cut outs for speak grill + sensor thingy to the right (1 hole) and the front facing camera (1 hole). There isn't a separate protector for the back camera like Martin Fields.
My friend has the Martin Fields for SGS2 and it feels very similar. The feel is different to naked, but I haven't noticed any drag or change to the screen picture. The protector goes pretty close to the edge, moreso than the pictures I've seen of the SGP Ultra Oleophobic. The bottom hasn't stuck as cleanly as the top (see 4th picture) but it hasn't come unstuck or attracted any dust.
Both this and the Martin Fields protector show small scratches on the protector. This is my first dry protector so I'm guessing it's how they are, unlike wet protectors which are "self healing". When the screen is on, I don't notice them. When the screen is off, I need to angle it so the light shows them.
I've also got an SGP Steinheil Flex which is wet application but I simply haven't been bothered enough to try it yet. I'm sure I will do at some point.
[Edit] Pictures added.
I have tried searching, perhaps I'm looking for the wrong thing. But I'm looking for a "screen protector" for the camera lens. My one already has some very fine scratches on the lens and I'd like to put something over it which can be replaced. I don't want the image quality to degrade in 6 months. This happened on my desire but of course I could just replace the back case. I know I can put my phone in a case and I do have a double dip flip case but I don't always want to carry it in the case.
Any ideas?

My realook screen protector (which I am happy with, even though it was hard to get on) came with lense protectors. At first I thought they were just excess plastic circles from production, then I realized they fit perfectly over the camera lense. They are kind of a pain to apply, scotch tape is your friend for repositioning them.
Get a fish eye for the phone. The little round magnet will keep the lens from resting on anything and getting scratched. Plus, you can take cool pictures when you want.

I used to use Martin Fields Overlay for my HOX, it comes with a protector for the lens. Only issue i had with that screen protector was that it was a little thick and it left a rainbow effect on the screen but in terms of clarity of screen there was no difference or interference. THey make the same protector for the HTC1.

picked this up and cut some out from old screen protectors I had. works great. 3/8" is a good fit.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0090JVDMQ/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
i noticed when i try to cut them out with scissors or a blade the edges don't stick well. this cutter makes a clean cut and all edges stick to the lens.
I wanted to create a thread for people to share feedback and recommend screen protectors they've tried or currently use.
The OMOTON 3 pack I purchased is quite good.
About $8, comes with an easy to use alignment frame. Coverage is great while leaving enough room for a case. Corner radius of the glass pretty much matches that of the screen bezel too.
Installation was easy.
I only wish there was a cutout for the camera but quality seems unaffected.
Here's a full unboxing & install
My LK tempered screen and camera protector has a front camera cutout, as well as a cutout for the mic on the rear camera module.
It's pretty cheap on Amazon, comes with 3 pairs of screen protectors and camera protector, an alignment tool, cleaning pads, dust removal stickers, and squeegee. Install is easy.
While the edges are all rounded over, they could stand to be rounded over a bit more for the front screen protector. The transition between the body of the phone and the screen (protector) isn't very smooth (although I expect that once I put my phone in a case, this won't be a problem).

THANK YOU! I went to this thread because I forgot the brand name that was suggested on a Reddit thread, and I looked it up and thought I had bookmarked it but no I didn't, and thought I would find it here. i didn't even have to look for it. It's in the OP
The zagg screen protector seems to suck... Touch sensitivity is garbage and the camera cutout has the glue too close the edge so it collects a massive amount of dust
I've had 2 different screen protectors now from differing suppliers on eBay.
The protectors themselves I'm happy with, but both are probably at least 5mm too small (height and width), although they are advertised as for the Pixel 5.
Eg. If I line the protector up pretty much to the top of the screen, then the bottom will line up where the swipe up white line is at the bottom of the screen, so at least 5 or 6mm short in my opinion.
Is anyone else on here using a tempered glass protector, and how are you finding the fit?
Can anyone recommend one that actually covers more of the screen?
Cheers
I have the spigen alignmaster for a day now and it fits nearly perfect, just about 0,5mm too small in every direction
Way back in October i bought a set of screen protectors for my Pixel 5 and all 3 in the pack ended up in the bin. Bubbles galore and badly aligned camera cut outs.
Yesterday i fitted a Spigen one and it went on perfect with the protector fitting up to the start of the bezels , very happy with it indeed.
Hope the spigen protectors will come back in stock

Do you have any pics to show what it looks like? I have a cheap Amazon glass screen protector which has around a 2mm gap around which I'm happy with. If the Spigen covers more of the screen I will get that instead.
Looking at the pictures though it seems the Spigen doesn't have a selfie camera cutout? It seems if the selfie camera is covered it has a pretty big impact on the quality of the pics.
Edit: Actually looking at some Youtube videos, it covers only the display part and not the bezel, like most of the screen protectors so I'll be sticking with mine.

I took some outstanding selfies with the Spigen protector on yesterday, it doesn't affect the quality.
Also, having come from a protector with a cutout, I prefer it being covered because now there isn't a dust trap around the camera due to the protector edge.

The bezel has a slight curve though so the screen protector would be lifted up and you wouldn't get a perfect seal.
I'm with Stringy on the cut out as well it is better not to have one, the ones i tried did not sit perfectly around the camera, they were always slightly off centre and it quickly trapped dust.
Hello, very bad sound in a noisy environment with spigen https://www.amazon.fr/Spigen-AlignMaster-Technologie-Auto-Alignment-Protection/dp/B08HPWFGKP/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_fr_FR=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=spigen+pixel+5&qid=1611689948&sr=8-1

anyone else having issues with the proximity sensor with the spigen tempered glass? i've noticed sometimes the AOD switches off and the screen won't turn on after a call when the phone is away from my head
only a reboot fixes it.

Weirdly i thought it improved call quality, it gave the call audio a bit of depth and seems to have removed some of the tinniness.
Anyone use LK glasses from Amazon? I bought a pack of three and I would like to know how good they are; Are they cover usable screen?
Edit: Received them today. Very good tempered glass, good quality (not the best) very easy to install with the plastic tool, no problem with the camera hole. Fits perfectly.
