Hello,
I'm seeing people have released cooked ROMs based on 1.97.*, but I couldn't find any official 1.97.* ROMs neither on the forum nor on the wiki. Can somebody point me the related post or wiki page please, if there is any?
Thanks.
Go to HTC download
Klick the download link. On the HTC site. And see what the file name is. cOuse it might be posible they did not chenged the download link name.
The only ROM version I was able to download today from htc.com was a 1.93.* WWE, with the serial number of my device. Is there any other method for accessing official ROMs? I mean, without a serial number?
I think what he's trying to say is this,
Look at the download link for the 1.93 rom and just change the url, you might get luck. so change (for example) http://htc.com/193.rom to http://htc.com/1xx.com.
Edit:
Checked to see the download link for ya, the 1.93 link is this:
http://dl.htc.com/downloadfiles/Rom...igned_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe
edit it to your likings and hope for the best.

i found this searching on google http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2945594&postcount=9
@nilsk123
I understand the method you're offering but I think the way HTC call their ROM update files is making impossible to guess alternative versions. There are too many numbers to play with, just too many possibilities Also, the link created by HTC web site could simply be a symlink or a virtual folder created on the fly according to our serial numbers.
@Weisan
Thanks for the link, appreciated. This ROM looks like created for Vodafone, are there any unbranded 1.97.* updates present in the forum?
I would be interested also, to see if HTC have improved much since the 1.93 ROMS...
I desperately googled it....but found no answers.
o wise ppl of XDA....please guide me how i can flash HTC's stupid BrewMP with android 2.1 or winMo 6.5.
Is it possible? what ROM i should use ?
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
even UPSL method will do...just anything to get me rid of BrewMP
uspl not free!my computer use it only one!wuwu!
Yeah even i'm stuck up with Brew OS, pls someone hwlp me install android or winmo !!
HTC Smart
My HTC Smart download twitter fail Help me
There would be no SPL needed for the HTC Smart as the BrewOS apparently loads directly from the flash, no need for a SPL to kickstart the process.
BrewOS woulds directly at hardware level, not like Android or WinMo.
I could be wrong, but for the moment, it's unlikely.
HTC Smart HSPL
Dear Admenistratory forum,do please HSPL for HTC Smart.Sorry for my Inglish.
ROM Upgrade for HTC Smart,http://www.htc.com/ru/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=974&news_id=683
Yes there is an upgrade available but wont accept my serial number probably because its under 02 licence.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Gerard
Hi gerlynch,What beside you serial number on Device?Sorry for my inglish,my HT04XP005143
Hi Ahror
I just tried your number and it did not work so i think they may be network/region tied.
My no. is HT05DP000108 but this will not work
Shipped ROMS
Shippedroms.com has lots of htc smart (rome) firmwares, unfortunately not the O2 firmware i need to reflash the water damaged one i got...
Will have to wait till o2 bring out new firmware (if ever)
I haven't found a way of getting any of these onto the phone yet... but still uses RUU like all the other new HTC Qualcomm devices... main issue is Vendor ID. I am pretty sure no version of HSPL type program for HTC Smart.
If anyone has a copy of the O2 version please let me know where to get it from.
Cheers
Hi, if we can download the rom upgrade from htc (from htc.com/es for example), its possible to change the original language (english, chinese and thai) to spanish ? my serial number is not valid for download the latest version.
Unfortunately, no...
You can not just reflash your HTC with the ROM which is compiled for another language/region. The RUU will stop with "Invalid Vendor" error.
This problem is solved here for most of HTC devices, but not (hope "not yet") for our Rome/Smart.
Regardless that Smart is just a phone, not a smartphone, it is still HTC. And it needs kind of modified loader which would allow to use different ROM.
I have an O2 Smart in hand and wish to flash it with any ganeric ROM, but still have no luck finding the way.
Flashed with South East Asia Rom in India
Downloaded the Rom from South East Asia and using the Hex editor changed the CID, and was able to flash the ROM on my HTC Smart.
To change the CID use the HEX Editor and change the CID in .nbh file to your country and use it.

hey raj_codes, i've done this and downloaded the hex editor, but i'm not sure how to change CID, and what CID of my carrier / country is?
i'm on telenor, serbia, and can't find any info about its CID on internet.
thanks and sorry for probably lame questions, i'm not into flashing and stuff, but this original smart / rome ROM drives me insane.
thanks.
For those from serbia u must download from polish part of htc site worked like a charm,so you must find your region if you want to flash your rom, this could be find if you check languages on your phone

Well, I don't know about Serbia CID, I also didn't find anything on th web.
Try it anyway flashing the South Asian Rom, it may work if there isn't any lock.
And the original Smart Rom and the one of South East Asia has only one difference that it doesn't come with Carrier application installed, thats why I am using it, I like clean Rom.
Sorry, for late answer and wasn't able to help further.

I am trying to so the same thing with Russian ROM. I have bought the phone in the US and also downloaded the Russian ROM. The problem is: How do you extract CID from the ROM? Can anybody please tell us about this procedure in some more details or at least direct to some useful link? .(Google search wan't helpful at all).
Where in the file did you locate and change the CID? Right now I have no idea what this CID even looks like. So confused, and asking for help.
Thanks a lot and I would really appreciate your suggestions!

OK, it worked: just replace the country code (located in 0x1C0 using HexEditor) in the ROM that you want to install with the country code of your original ROM.
Great thanks go to: pavlovmax1983 from ht tp : // 4pda . ru/ forum / inde x . ph p ? showtopic = 174362 & st = 60
Mine was originally SEA (I guess South East Asia): HTC__044
And in Russian ROM is was: HTC__A07
That's it! If anybody needs either Russian or SEA ROMs I can upload by request. (ver. 1.0.405.95739)
hello Guys i have an HTC ONE M9 CID NUM : VODAP304 and MID NUM : 0PJA10000 ..........where can i find an RUU for my phone??? thanks
When I go to HTC's RUU download page (http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html) I don't see anywhere to download for Vodafone - which is what I'm assuming you have from your CID.
What country are you in? HTC may be only showing me the options that are applicable to the USA, given the 'us' reference in the URL.

I'm from Morocco but i think my phone is from Vodafone spain ( i think) .....
From your CID, it is Vodafone Spain (I should have Googled that first thing - sorry).
The only place that seems to offer file downloads for your phone is HTCdev (http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads). When I filter the files, I get different possible downloads. The thing is, I don't know enough to tell you which file (MR 1 or CSC) is the one you would want, or what you are supposed to do with it - they're both zip files.
I'm downloading one of them to open it and see what's inside. But it's a sign of hope that HTC is providing something. Unfortunately, I can't find any RUU files for Vodafone Spain. But maybe someone with more experience can help us from here.
I'll post what I find once the download finishes. My connection is slow, so it'll be a bit.

Well, I learn something new each day - the files are for the radio and kernel. Unfortunately, that doesn't do anything for finding you a RUU file.

If the file is not here >> http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=M9
you can request it here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/htc-one-m9-dump-t3060545
When looking at ruu "details" all the numbers match my os except the "release" number.
I've seen 417809 and 417003.
What, if anything, is the difference ?
Cheers.
What are the full file names of the RUUs?
Can't remember now.
It's 4.16.401.10 ruu, radio etc ALL match. Just the last 3 digits of "release".
Edit.... This is the ruu I've seen, https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B17smFr95pleU2NqcVB3NWxoNnM/view?pli=1
Only difference to my os is last 3 digits of release. Mine is 003 and this is 809, or other way round.

809 is what is posted here, too: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=24562
Linked from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
I doubt it makes any difference. Even minor build changes are reflected in the build number (4.16.401.10).

That might be the case because no one contributed any files for this SKU, yet.
It's the T-Mobile US SKU. It looks like HTC didn't upload the new RUU, yet. I tried to download it by "updating" the download URL for the 3.x RUU with the new version but that didn't work. (This has been possible in the past when they forgot to update their download page.)

Is T-MOB010 the right CID and 0PJA12000 the correct MID (From the SKU-, CID- and MID-List by Sneakyghost and Behold_this) for SKU 531? I'm presuming that even though I have the developer edition model of the M9 (MID 0PJA11000), the firmware/OS is compatible because they're both GSM models.
Yes, it should be compatible. I don't know the corresponding CID but you can extract the android-info.txt from the RUU with the decryption tool.

Er, of course you can't open RUU.zip files like normal archives. They're encrypted and that's explained in the FAQ of the ReadMe thread. If you don't have one already I'd recommend you to get an AFH account. It may take some days until the dev functions (which are needed if you want to upload files) get enabled but afterwards you'll have unlimited space.
Edit: I personally prefer uploading files via FTP. However, since FTP access needs to be requested seperately you might want to directly request it when you request the dev functions on AFH.

AFH is for free. You don't need a premium account. I don't have one, either. There a 4 types of accounts on that site: user accounts (free), dev accounts (free), premium user accounts (paid) and premium dev accounts (paid).

For me it was because at the landing page there wasn't immediate access to upload files but there was mention of membership plans. The jump I made was that uploading was enabled with a service plan.
....and then I read the 'about' link which has the one-line summary I quoted above. Not my best day for reading before posting.
