White Label ROMs

Hi - I have both a Universal and a Wizard. For a while now, on my Wizard I've been using a ROM made up of 'best bits' of all the available releases, with all carrier customisations removed - this is released under the name 'Mr. Clean' rom. It's bugless and lightweight. Perfect!
Does anyone release a similar rom for the Universal? Or does anyone prepare one for their own use who might consider sharing? It really would be great to see.

We should do this.
A "Clean" ROM with a CAB set to choose from for each provider.
I would appreciate this greatly - since t-mobile remove some stuff from the blank setup.

A fast, lean and mean ROM would be awesome. I don't have the time or skills unfortunately.

I followed that thread - but the links dont exist.
Could someone upload the T-mobile version of Jwright's ROM to the XDA-Developers FTP site??

I just tried the thread I posted above and the link works fine. It must be your computer settings.
I am not sure which version is this though. I think he released QTEK, IMATE, and TMOBILE versions. Just use the Ma_Upgrade_No_ID_Tool.

The link I posted above is the link to the topic with the files you guys are looking for. It should be on the first post of that link, and it works fine on mine.

Yes it does but we're talking about the links to Jwrightmcps modified ROM's... These are missing from the FTP site????

I am now confused. This has been discussed before, someone took off those files from the fttp. Probably someone does not want to share or maybe it took a great chunk of memory storage. That is why "Xanadu" provided us with this alternate download site, but it is the same file, so it does not really matter if we can't find the original posted file by Jwright because someone was gracious enough to share.
I thought the topic was where is Jwright's Modified ROM? I provided a link on where to donload it. Question answered. What is still the confusion? Are you looking for a specific file for a specific device like Jwright promised? If so, he also left instructions on how to use the Ma_Upgrade_No ID file. So just extract the files necessary and rename them, then install.

XDAII (O2) 1.66 ROM Please

I need this ROM as I upgraded to the 1.72. It cleared my radio stack (don't know how to find/install a new radio stack) and doesn't allow my previous installed information to be reinstalled (the xbackup is working but then the device just resets itself to the initial setup process without any of my previous information loaded in).
I went to the O2 site but they need the IMEI to get the 1.60. The IMEI was also cleared when I installed the 1.72. I couldn't find any downloads on this site or the wiki.
I just want my XDAII back to how it was before I foolishly made the mistake of thinking that it would work all fine instead of thinking with the proverb if it ain't broke don't fix it!

do you want rom 1.66 or rom 1.66 plus a radio stack in which case what version
or do you just want a radio stack
radio stacks are not included in the pure roms it's a seperate file called radio.nbf

I would like the ROM 1.66 and the radio stack please (do I also need the extended ROM?) - as far as the RS goes, anything that would work for the US T-Mobile Prepaid network...

Found the IMEI under the battery
but the O2 site says I can't download as my device should already have the 1.60WWE rom version.

try going ti xda-wiki and taking a look at the ftp

The ftp of xda-developers no more has any ROM what so ever now. They all have been removed...Try ftp of wm-gurus.com

How to backup the original ROM?

Hi all,
I look into the ROM development thread, but I couldn't figure out...
Is there a way to backup the original ROM my phone has?
I have no problems with the original ROM, but I want to try also the original WM6.5 ROM, when it will be out. But if I don't like WM 6.5, it would be handy to have also my current ROM available.
Is there a tool that does that? Extract the original ROM that my phone now has?

Easy way is to just go to HTC's support page and download the latest official ROM so that you can flash back if the cooked ROMs are not to your liking. I've done this a couple times already...

Can we backup our ROM or not?
I would really need to do that because i have a special locked down ROM from my company and would like the possability to restore it later...

It also can be found on providers page, for me it was htc page. It depends.

hi all does anyone know how to obtain an upgrade for hermes 8525 from windows 5 to windows 6and how it should be done? or if its advisable to do so....thanks in advance..

There are numerous options. But first you need to put HardSPL on your device. The only method that worked with my AT&T 8525 was the SD card method.

thank you for your help and info am new to the site and havnt learned it as yet. but will the upgrade inable the infared on my device?

Infrared Should work on your device as is. You may just need to enable receiving of files.
I'm sure all of your answers are buried somewhere here on the site. There is tons of information here. There is a search feature at the top brown bar that will search the entire site using google. It will help you find all sorts of stuff

no I can't. you didn't even state if you just want to flash a custom ROM or build your own kitchen. and I have no clue what device you use. So just sum up this information for yourself and type it up in search field.
