When looking at ruu "details" all the numbers match my os except the "release" number.
I've seen 417809 and 417003.
What, if anything, is the difference ?
Cheers.
What are the full file names of the RUUs?
Can't remember now.
It's 4.16.401.10 ruu, radio etc ALL match. Just the last 3 digits of "release".
Edit.... This is the ruu I've seen, https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B17smFr95pleU2NqcVB3NWxoNnM/view?pli=1
Only difference to my os is last 3 digits of release. Mine is 003 and this is 809, or other way round.

809 is what is posted here, too: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=24562
Linked from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
I doubt it makes any difference. Even minor build changes are reflected in the build number (4.16.401.10).

hi all,
im sorry if im a noob, i tried searching the forum but i havent found out how to flash an original rom. i saw the thread for original roms but i cant seem to update my hero and an error occurs. my build number is 2.73.707.9146733. got it in singapore. trying to update to 2.73.728.5 (sea) hope this helps!
thanks!
Any particular reason why you want to "upgrade"? Bear in mind that all 2.73.???.??? are pretty much the same, as the last two parts of the build number essentially indicate carrier/region, and a higher number doesn't necessarily indicate a more recent build.
Of course, some builds are "lesser" because certain apps (often Market) haven't been included, but in terms of performance they should be pretty similar.
Regards,
Dave
i see. should i "want" to upgrade, if its an official rom, i should just run it and it would work right?how would i know if my device is in wwe or sea?
thanks Dave!
The RUU will check the CID of your phone, and if it doesn't like it for whatever reason, it won't flash. I couldn't tell you how to determine whether your phone is WWE or SEA (South East Asia?).
Regards,
Dave
Just out of curiosity...
What does the version numbers in Sense mean?
Ex. 2.29.405.5
And Radio?
not sure about the last one, but the first 2 are release versions:
1. number is for major releases(1=ecleair 2=froyo)
2. number is for lesser releases lige bugfixes and so on
3. number is to show from where the update originates so to speak(405=htc, and every carrier have their own number here)
That's about right, except the first number. I don't think it's linked to the Android version as the Legend FroYo update starts 3.x.x.x
Thanks guys
What about the radio? GPS, Camera. etc?
Would love to gather a full list with the meaning of the numbers...
Could not find anything by searching...
Radio is just like the drivers between Android and the hardware. All stock RUUs come with a radio file which is what HTC link the hardware to
The version numbers are random and increase with each release.
GPS, Camera - no idea what you mean. There aren't version numbers so don't worry

I`ve read in the Hermes forum that f.ex .11 (or .01) means that GPS is enabled
If ypu want to know the brandong then I know 3.. 405 generic htc, 161 vodafone branded, 711 three3 branded
Hope this helps!

The Desire has GPS on it, you just turn it on. There's no version numbers involved
"The Desire has GPS on it" -
Ok, so only the Sense version numbers means something, and all the numbers and dots in radio dont mean anything, it just increases randomly after an upgrade...?
Ex. my Radio: 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
Your Radio: 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17
It does not represent anything
No, it doesn't. It's just a version number. They mean nothing
Don't worry about it!
Damn, OK, I give in
Hi, on the HTC developer site there are 2 options for downloading software, one is crc, the other is mr. These refer to the type of radio. Devcheck says my baseband version/number is [email protected]_41.13_f. How do I know if it's crc or mr? I'm on an european model.

As far as I know, crc refers to original release and mr refers to updated/maintenance release. If your looking at RUU releases the mr would be newer. So check which baseband is in the RUU your looking at. It's usually the name of the file.
Thanks, you're right! It's a. tar.gz file though so I'll look into how I'll flash it..
On some other forum (can't post links yet) NJsomeone said crc is cyclic redundancy check and mr is multi-range radio. Just hope it won't mess with my telephony.

That might be the case because no one contributed any files for this SKU, yet.
It's the T-Mobile US SKU. It looks like HTC didn't upload the new RUU, yet. I tried to download it by "updating" the download URL for the 3.x RUU with the new version but that didn't work. (This has been possible in the past when they forgot to update their download page.)

Is T-MOB010 the right CID and 0PJA12000 the correct MID (From the SKU-, CID- and MID-List by Sneakyghost and Behold_this) for SKU 531? I'm presuming that even though I have the developer edition model of the M9 (MID 0PJA11000), the firmware/OS is compatible because they're both GSM models.
Yes, it should be compatible. I don't know the corresponding CID but you can extract the android-info.txt from the RUU with the decryption tool.

If you don't have one already I'd recommend you to get an AFH account. It may take some days until the dev functions (which are needed if you want to upload files) get enabled but afterwards you'll have unlimited space.
Edit: I personally prefer uploading files via FTP. However, since FTP access needs to be requested seperately you might want to directly request it when you request the dev functions on AFH.

AFH is for free. You don't need a premium account. I don't have one, either. There a 4 types of accounts on that site: user accounts (free), dev accounts (free), premium user accounts (paid) and premium dev accounts (paid).
Edit: I actually don't know why so many think you would need to pay for AFH...

For me it was because at the landing page there wasn't immediate access to upload files but there was mention of membership plans. The jump I made was that uploading was enabled with a service plan.

This RUU is working fine for me. I have it installed. CID is 34.
I tried the early 2.41.401.3 that was provided for UK!
And this one 2.41.401.4 that was provided for the rest of EU containing the fixes for NL.
AFAIK the ".3" Is the very very same build.
Just the ".4" containing some special fixes for NL region only.
And the people from UK are still on ".3". since they do not need this. So if you are on ".3" and live in the UK you can stay there.
If you know that your devices destiny was initially to receive the ".4" update since you live in NL and your device is going crazy, loosing IMEI and other stuffs and want to enter this special path again, go for it. I did it. And i live with WIPING my PHONE twice. But that is:
- My free time.
- My problem.
- Not yours.
And on top of all this i am very happy that Mr. Wheeler is offering this chance to me. Because i see some more benefits having a FULL signed STOCK RUU around. Because i owned a HTC phone in my life that i totally bricked. And there was no RUU available for it. And with this fine offer by him i have one now. Meaning i do not have to wait 4 weeks or so to get my phone recovered. I can just take this RUU and bring it back to life. Just in special circumstances.
And for me this means: "I did not need to do this, since even the ".3" worked for me in the very same manner. But i wanted to be on the originating path again, after trying the early release that UK received."
If you live in the UK and have the ".3" you will definitively not need to flash this. There is no need to flash anything. It was told that both will receive OTA in future.
And noone said you have to flash anything. Why do you stress yourselves with this?
Here some details about the ".3":
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70951262&postcount=2681
And the .4 that you find in this thread just containing the fixes for NL on top of this!
And once again: There is absolutely no force that you have to flash anything. You can just sit back and wait for OTA.
Maybe if the thread initiator would want to add more information, what this is originating of. It might prohibit questions about the question what this is for question.
AND PLEASE DO CORRECT ME ABOUT WHAT IS WRONG!

And the .4 that you find in this thread just containing the fixes for NL on top of this!
And once again: There is absolutely no force that you have to flash anything. You can just sit back and wait for OTA.
Maybe if the thread initiator would want to add more information, what this is originating of. It might prohibit questions about the question what this is for question.
AND PLEASE DO CORRECT ME ABOUT WHAT IS WRONG!
