Hi
I need to open my Zenfone 2 ze551ml to fix my 3.5mm jack. I dont want to lose warranty. Is it possible to open zenfone 2 without voiding warranty and seal? Also i unlocked bootloader with asus tool. Is my warranty valid? Im from europe and correct me if im wrong but i think i heard that there is a law that allows you to change sofware and still have warranty on Hardware. I contacted Asus about my problem with jack and they just said that i should fill in RMA ticket and send the device. Will they just fix current device or replace it with new device (like nvidia does)?
You generally can't open a device as the warranty void sticker is placed over a screw you need to undo to get inside.
Can't say about warranty as I live in Oz.
If you RMA it and the warranty is void you will receive a bill...

Warranty without proof of purchase, is that true or it's necessary to have it? ... Cause guy who sold me phone told me that i just need to have box with imei and device with corresponding IMEI + htc is checking how much warranty is left by serial number...
Correct, I've never sent in proof of purchase getting my phone repaired, HTC know what the deal is from their system. You 100% don't need the phones box.
Ok thanks for the info.
I have a blue line and I want to repair it with warrenty and am rooted

First of all make sure the repair shop don't disassemble your phone otherwise you can say goodbye to your warranty. And rooting will be the least of your concerns.

If you read what he has written you will understand that his phone is at an unauthorized phone repair shop. Hence disassembling the phone anywhere else besides the authorized dealer voids the warranty.
U all got it in the wrong way I mean that my phone is have blue line and its not a dead pixel and my phome under 2 year warranty and my phone is under network provider named batelco and if they know that my phone is rooted they will cancel the warrenty for good my question is if I fully unrooted can they find that my device was on root?.

As long as you've unrooted successfully and your binary count is back to zero and the rom is fully stock then no they won't know.

Hey guys have any one experienced problems with samsung rejecting warranty service becaouse of the bootloader indicator?
Some time ago I had a note 2 that I had to exchange because of a gps error. When I sent the phone back after a warranty claim I realized I didnt triangled away and reset the flash counter to zero, every one knows that this will supposed to void your warranty. Well I never got charged or got called or a letter from samsung about the issue... is there any one here have had bootloader warranty void issue?
LG told me that my phone would still be fixed even if the glass is cracked, because the bootloop problem is a motherboard issue. Rogers has a program that they don't list on their website unless you google it called "advance exchange" where if your phone is still under warranty, they'll send you a new phone if it's defective.
Tech support and the store employee told me that the warranty is void since the screen is cracked. Then I found this:
https://www.rogers.com/business/on/en/smallbusiness/rogers/handsetprotection/inwarranty/
click on the "smartphones and internet devices" tab
Eligibility Rules:
- Device is covered by the manufacturer's warranty
- Defect has not been caused by physical damage to the device
- Device is included in the program; certain models or product types are not available through Advance Exchange
- Device is active on a Rogers postpaid account
So if any of you are in the same situation, use this URL. you can't even find this page through google unless you play with keywords, then it will show up. I would just send it to LG for warranty but I want Rogers to deal with it out of spite. I'll keep escalating over and over again just to see how far I have to go to get a replacement, or a straight forward answer.
Hello , When you send a lg phone for service with issue in motherboard(aka bootloop issue) and they replace it.Service guys associate the new imei and serial number with the old ones ? So if 2 year warranty is over but the new mainboard is much newer, in case of another issue ,for example screen flickering, could we send to it another service center and just don't tell them that the mainboard is replaced?

If im not mistaken it should be from the time they send it back the waranty should basicly be reset. Again if im not mistaken
There have been users send there g4 in multiple times over the last couple years. And ive never heard anyone complain of that.
To make things more clear,
Does service keep record globally to lg the mainboard replacement? So can I claim warranty for screen if passed 2 years from the day I bought it but the replaced mainboard serial number says that I have warranty till August of 2018?Maybe somewhere else from the service shop where I sent it for the bootloop issue because they will not know that mainboard is replaced.
Thanks.

Ill thank that response. That is a very good ? I would like to know that myself.
I was always under the assumption tbat yes any time u send a device in on a waranty and a poce with any kind of serial nums gets replaced the new serial is the new waranty date. I dont think the old imeis are any good any more as people with locked bootloader try to use old unlock bins. Have to update theyre device id and imei with lgs unlock site as their old ones arent reconized any more after mb replacement.

No. Your warranty will not extend to "forever" (if we assume you have a repair once a year.. ) or being reset just because something get replaced. I can speak for Europe only but I don't believe that any other country will do it different. Normally all vendors record the device warranty globally because if not they would loose many money. I say I don't believe but only LG knows for sure.
The bootloop issue is another story. This gets even repaired when outside of warranty e.g. in the USA due to the signed law suit. That's why this is not an issue for the most people.
