Can't Root Unlocked Optimus G E973 Stamped *NOT FOR SALE*

So a few weeks ago I purchased an Optimus G E973 here in Canada from a guy who had posted an ad on Kijiji. He claimed that his company had bought a bunch of Optimus Gs but ended up switching to Blackberry for their email system or something. The phone was brand new with the USB cable and outlet adapter, but no box was included. All of the protective stickers were still intact, but when I peeled the thin IMEI barcode sticker off the bottom right side, the plastic is engraved/stamped with *NOT FOR SALE*. The phone was "factory unlocked" and I had no issues activating it with Virgin. So does anyone have any idea why this engraving is there?
Now I have just decided to root but unfortunately using Bin4ry's root restore method does not work, as it just hangs at the "Running..." stage and never reboots. Heres some screenshots with software information that came on the phone:

Last thing I should mention is that when benchmarking I am getting a little lower scores than I should be. It seems like the processors is underclocked to ~1.2GHz? Heres some screens from AnTuTu:
So I hope someone might have some idea why it was stamped and if this is whats causing issues with rooting.

You have some kind of a display model
My guess is that it is running a modified software with extra security
After all Binary s root exploits a timing delay thru adb, which is probably patched in the firmware your phone is running
Note that binary s root method cannot be used on LG s latest firmware
Your best bet is to use KDZ and load the old stock firmware
Follow the guide for unblinking the phone found under general forums

I'm not sure but what I do know is that it was defnitely brand new and never used when I got it.
Now I am having a hell of a time reverting back to the stock firmware. LGMobile Support Tool says "Software update is not supported for this model", even though it recognizes the phone as an LGE973AT running E97310G. And when I tried using my IMEI with both the tool and url mentioned in this thread I still couldn't get any firmware from LG's servers. So I finally grabbed the Bell E97310F KDZ from this post, but when I try flashing it using the unbricking method the updater reports that it can't find the phone. Now I guess I am out of luck for now

So what does this mean? Is it something to do with it being a dev/display phone most likely?
I also tried this which was posted in the unbricking thread. Still "PHONE NOT FOUND".

Hey guys, any luck figuring this out?
My phone is doing the same thing. Just hanging after "restore my data" is pressed

I have the same phone rooted with unlocked bootloader. You have to downgrade from E97310g to E97310f, (mine came with E97310h Bell)
Direct Download link for Bell E97310f Kdz [E97310F_00.kdz] (915mb)
after used RootOptimusG-English.rar to root the device.
Then followed Project FreeGee to unlock the bootloader

hi i have an lg g4 h815T model its running on android lollipop 5.1... i want it upgraded to marshmallow... problem is there's no option for OTA update in about phone its running stock.. i want to get it to marshmallow ... phone is rooted(it was when i bought it used) rest i knw nothing... i can learn .... i have used Motorola razer n spyder rom n stuff before...

Plug your phone to your PC, and start LG Bridge to check for update.
LG Up also works, but you'll have to find a corresponding KDZ( not that easy )

Get LG Bridge from here: www.lg.com/hk_en/support/support-mobile/lg-H815T
Don't flash other variant‘s KDZ，or you’ll risk BRICK your device or get a null IMEI
H815T is not a common device and there're HK version and AUS version,use LG Bridge for safe.

no i think your phone cant be bootloader unlocked.
you cant root MM only LP thats why you had it rooted.
LP and MM system is different and on LP there was a hole that you could xploit it to rooted this changed on MM. in blocked.
so only in LP can be rooted with locked bootloader. wich am 100% your phone is. also if you plan to go back to LP make sure to know wich antirollback you are because different antirollback hard bricks phone..

still haven't managed to update mm... update file downloaded (1.67 gig~..too slow connection 4 hr to download this file) it started updating went to 9% than phone restarts into download mode and error pops up in bridge saying report recover error
can i download the update manually AND install it because stock downloader takes too long (normal downloading @150~200 kbs/s when my peak connection speed is 500~600 kbs/s)

yes you need to download the correct KDZ for it. i feel you i have 100kb connection. it took me all night to download ..
thats not good . can you enter sownload mode .. press vol up and connect usb. ?

LG G4 Not Open | Screen Not Open | Brick

I installed the LG G4 phone stock rom. The phone is working. The LED is on. The opening sound is coming up. But the screen does not open. (The battery screen appears when I pull the battery out only when USB is connected.) .
I can get a download mod. But no screen.
I guess I install the wrong KDZ.
I do not know my phone model. (H815,H818,H811 i dont know )

You have the H815 version. Simply download the .kdz file and use the LGUP program. I did this when I thought my phone was bricked

I tried it again but it does not.
I wanted to install the stock rom again, but it did not.

first i had ILAPO problem after upgrading...i used a method of disabling big cores but i had to choose TOT for H818 since TOT for H815 didn't work...now my phone has changed from
815 to 818 but whenever i try to boot it i get a blackscreen thou i can hear it booting...then after searching my IMEI info i found it is F500S i am a bit confused on what to do now!!

In what way did try? Usually you just put the Phone into Download Mode (If you install LGUP and Drivers Correctly the Program should do it for you *If you have your phone connected Normally with your PC) what happens when you connect via PC?

My Phone Connected Normally and Download Mod but screen not come

If it connects and the program sees the phone then by installing the right stock image should fix but if not then a replacement is needed

The only thing I can suggest is back every thing up and then a hard reset.......

i did hardest but still facing no network signals

Suspect in the event your ROM hasn't become corrupted and re-installing the same version doesn't help, you may have a hardware issue.

You can use either of these two methods:
LGUP - NEW!!! - INSTALL KDZ - MM or LP - FACTORY RESET/UPGRADE at https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803
LG Flash Tool 2014 - The best way to Flash LG KDZ Rom at https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
I would suggest using LGUP-NEW first as it tends to cause fewer issues.
Don't forget the Thanks button ... when you're asking for and receiving help.

As most users complain about only seeing a TOT file on the selection window in LGUP-NEW and not the KDZ they want to flash (until they read the posts and figure out how to direct to their file) I don't see why it wouldn't but, to be sure, post your question to the author of the site from the OP to get a more definitive answer. I personally have only used it to flash a KDZ file myself.

Only way is to find an H81510h file with an anti-rollback version that isn't smaller than the one you're on now. You'll have to search for it and perhaps put a request in at kdz, tot LG G4 [All Variants] (https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/...iants-t3362423). Access your hidden menu and see what your current roll-back version is so you can be specific.

If you can still get into download mode, it's not dead. If you can get into download mode, look for the right rom for your device or try again and make sure you follow the instruction exactly . Try the other method as well to install if that doesn't work.
I've only tried to help and if you'd done your own searches you most likely would have had the issue develop at some point trying to find the right stock rom.

need DLL model too for flash using LG Flash Tool and DLL is different from that used for LGUP

I think this is outdated and people should use LGUP. To download your firmware you can plug your phone into LG Bridge and click on error recovery. It fails on download for me but if it doesn't then it'll download it there for you. Otherwise you can fake your User Agent with a chrome extension and look at the LG Bridge log for the link to download the firmware. As for the LGUP dll you can use a kdz extractor to retrieve it from your downloaded kdz. I can provide links later on the details if people want to know, I'm just not at my PC at the moment. Also not sure if your carrier has released the update but @op theres a new h update for H933 for most carriers.

When i try to upgrade the v300s to android 8.0 by flashing the kdz file, LG UP 1.14 does not work.

Install everything from uppercut thread. After installing open uppercut.exe, it will show lgup. Select .kdz and upgrade then start. It will boot the phone to downloadmode by itself.

I think I've got Uppercut working in a virtual windows machine. Does anyone know where I can find a EU KDZ firmware to flash for my H930? (I'm soft bricked)
