[Q] Looking for original e973 firmware

I have an unlocked E973 and I am using it with Virgin. The phone came with software version E97310g and I can't root using Bin4ry's method, so I need the original firmware. I have tried using the methods in the unbricking thread to download from LG's servers but unfortunately my IMEI will not work. So my question is does it matter whether I choose a telus or bell firmware? Will I have to SIM unlock the phone again after flashing the old firmware?
Hopefully someone can kindly provide an E973 IMEI or a mirror to the firmware I need. Thanks in advance!

Update:
I am going to try the stock bell firmware E97310f from this post. I guess I will just find out if it works with my Virgin SIM after I flash it.

Well no luck with the Bell firmware as the updater gives "PHONE NOT FOUND", whenever I try flashing. Guess I am out of luck . It's too bad cause this phone is pretty nice . Maybe I will trade for an S3.

Yup, you should be able to use the Telus firmware.
Use lgnpost with phone in download mode. should be good instructions on the unbrick thread.

Well don't I need a .tot to use LGNPST not a .kdz? Also the unbrick thread doesn't have instructions for using LGNPST .I have a Bell .tot but I haven't tried flashing it because some other e973 users reported it not working with LGNPST because of a .dll compatibility issue.
I have however already tried using the LG tool in that unbrick thread, but I can't get it to recognize my phone. Unfortunately I don't think it matters what .KDZ I have because the tool itself isn't working. Maybe I will just try LGNPST and see if it works for me.
update: So just tried using LGNPST and it doesn't recognize my phone either. I tried with the phone set to LG Software, with and without usb debugging, and I also tried with the phone in download mode. This is what it gives me:

Should I just sell this phone and see if I can get my hands on another one that's hopefully legit and not some dev or display phone?

you should be able to use kdz updater, with a kdz file that is. i have no experience using lgnpst.

I have tried that LG kdz updater with a bell kdz but it doesn't even recognize the phone. It says PHONE NOT FOUND

Okay I have packaged the kdz file and also included the KDZ upload tool to use. It is in two parts and is rarred.. simply unpack the folder and the kdz and you should be good to go.

Sure thing, lemme know if you have any trouble with it.. I may be able to lend a hand.. I've relied on reformatting my phone several times after performing a bunch of hacks which caused a variety of boot issues.

If the phone is not recognised in KDZ
You might need to install the XML parser. Just run the msxml.msi install before starting KDZ.

Stuck at Firmware Update. Flashtool stuck at 6%

I had rooted KitKat on G3. So i tried to unroot it and go back to stock using Lgflash tool. During the process, lgflashtool is now stuck at 6% saying "change partition fail". In device manager ,my PC detects it as "LGE Mobille USB serial Port".
I have tried ADB .but it always show no device.
Please help me. :crying:

It means I don't have d855 board.right?.do I have to guess and flash some other carrier Rom?But my IMEI number shows it is d855.

Some times this can happen due to incompatibility of LG flash tool. You may need to try the same process on a pc running different Windows (Windows 7 32 bit will be great).
If you still have no result then you can also try the process with LGUP tool.

what dll you used..i have also this problem i have d855 model and when i switch on my phone it automatic in downloading mode ...i have tried (LGD855_20140526_LGFLASHv160.dll) with (D855AT-00-V10e-EUR-XX-JUL-08-2014-32G+0.tot) beacause i dont know what is mobile software version

You shouldn't have to use the guide I first posted since your phone is recognized. If you flashed wrong rom with the lgtool will report that model which is incorrect. Take off the battery cover and look around the phone so you have the correct model for your phone and download that kdz. You can use this guide to help. Use the first part.

Unfortunately I opened up my phone and found that my board is replaced with D850. So i flashed D850 tot file.
For you , just flash Europe . If it ends in success.You have flashed the correct tot file. for FM, try to find that your hardware is in working condition.Otherwise just go without FM.

Did you find any fix to your problem? I got the same: stuck at firmware update screen 0% and find out that mine have a D851 chip instead of D855 .

Yes no prob so first you have to download the d851 tot file and the genetic dll and then come here again i will tell you the next step

Use dll that is supposed to be compatible with d851.

g4 marshmallow help needed

hi i have an lg g4 h815T model its running on android lollipop 5.1... i want it upgraded to marshmallow... problem is there's no option for OTA update in about phone its running stock.. i want to get it to marshmallow ... phone is rooted(it was when i bought it used) rest i knw nothing... i can learn .... i have used Motorola razer n spyder rom n stuff before...

Plug your phone to your PC, and start LG Bridge to check for update.
LG Up also works, but you'll have to find a corresponding KDZ( not that easy )

Get LG Bridge from here: www.lg.com/hk_en/support/support-mobile/lg-H815T
Don't flash other variant‘s KDZ，or you’ll risk BRICK your device or get a null IMEI
H815T is not a common device and there're HK version and AUS version,use LG Bridge for safe.

no i think your phone cant be bootloader unlocked.
you cant root MM only LP thats why you had it rooted.
LP and MM system is different and on LP there was a hole that you could xploit it to rooted this changed on MM. in blocked.
so only in LP can be rooted with locked bootloader. wich am 100% your phone is. also if you plan to go back to LP make sure to know wich antirollback you are because different antirollback hard bricks phone..

still haven't managed to update mm... update file downloaded (1.67 gig~..too slow connection 4 hr to download this file) it started updating went to 9% than phone restarts into download mode and error pops up in bridge saying report recover error
can i download the update manually AND install it because stock downloader takes too long (normal downloading @150~200 kbs/s when my peak connection speed is 500~600 kbs/s)

yes you need to download the correct KDZ for it. i feel you i have 100kb connection. it took me all night to download ..
thats not good . can you enter sownload mode .. press vol up and connect usb. ?

H815 Upgrading from LP to MM via LGUP ! Please help out

can any one help me out ? i am trying to upgrade my G4 from LP to MM. Currently on H81510H, i have tried flashing with 2 different MM KDZ's V20D & V20i but couldn't succeed. LGUP throwing some error at 9% stating that "tot anti rollback version is smaller than device version"
i vexed up reading all the info and finally failed to flash kdz to my device. always getting the same error any inputs from you guys. would be very helpful for me. what am i doing wrong ?

When using LG UP did you use Refurbished or Upgrade option? You should try Refurbished, but you will lose your data, so do a backup first.

something weird is going on... because all the H815 (EU anyway...) KDZs are at ARB 00. Yet his phone is at ARB 02.
So it's some sort of different variant or something. All the KDZs he's trying to use are at 00 but he's at 02... so every KDZ he tries is gonna have same error until he finds a KDZ for his exact bizarro variant with ARB 02.
AFAIK all H815's were always at 00 so not really sure what's going on in this unique case.

Thanks for the confirmation. I was thinking the same thing, that only US carriers had the anti-rollback rolled-in.
@SandyKick, did you ever flash a KDZ or TOT, NOT intended for your phone model?

Dear SandyKick!
Did you find any KDZ or TOT with ARB 2 or greater? I have the same problem. I want to upgrade my H815 from LP 10H to MM. But LGUP says that anti roll back version is smaller than the device version. And all the KDZs or TOTs of H815 out there are with ARB = 00.
Any solution please???
EDIT: There is something very weird with this phone that I have purchased second-hand. LGUP shows it as H815 10h, while the phone itself shows in the Download Mode H810 10o. And last but not least, the LG Mobile Support Tool (predecessor of LG Bridge tool) shows the current firmware version as H815 10h but says that an updated firmware with version VS986 24c is available!!! Someone has really messed it up before selling it to me.

By the way I have downloaded a TOT with version H815 10H but with ARB 00 from here also available here. Is it possible to hex-edit its ARB version or not???

seems to me you guys have a frankenphone... its says in software a model but it also says another .. so to be sure open up phone .. take out motherboard and read the motherboard plaque model number ... maybe its not a h815 after all. if it says h811 then you use h811 if it says h810 use h810. ect.

The only thing I can suggest is back every thing up and then a hard reset.......

i did hardest but still facing no network signals

Suspect in the event your ROM hasn't become corrupted and re-installing the same version doesn't help, you may have a hardware issue.

You can use either of these two methods:
LGUP - NEW!!! - INSTALL KDZ - MM or LP - FACTORY RESET/UPGRADE at https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803
LG Flash Tool 2014 - The best way to Flash LG KDZ Rom at https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
I would suggest using LGUP-NEW first as it tends to cause fewer issues.
Don't forget the Thanks button ... when you're asking for and receiving help.

As most users complain about only seeing a TOT file on the selection window in LGUP-NEW and not the KDZ they want to flash (until they read the posts and figure out how to direct to their file) I don't see why it wouldn't but, to be sure, post your question to the author of the site from the OP to get a more definitive answer. I personally have only used it to flash a KDZ file myself.

Only way is to find an H81510h file with an anti-rollback version that isn't smaller than the one you're on now. You'll have to search for it and perhaps put a request in at kdz, tot LG G4 [All Variants] (https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/...iants-t3362423). Access your hidden menu and see what your current roll-back version is so you can be specific.

If you can still get into download mode, it's not dead. If you can get into download mode, look for the right rom for your device or try again and make sure you follow the instruction exactly . Try the other method as well to install if that doesn't work.
I've only tried to help and if you'd done your own searches you most likely would have had the issue develop at some point trying to find the right stock rom.
