Htc desire 820 touch issue - Desire 820 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I have HTC 820, single Sim, running on Android 6.0. Official update. There is a problem with touch screen. Digitizer is not enough responsible. Scroll working fine. The biggest problem is when I typing a message, I must slowly type on keyboard.
I ordered a new touch, complete with LCD, but issue is the same.
Does anybody knows more about this?

Hey, You can't type letters like "p", "q" or "a" (ones on the borders of screen?), and it's harder to expand the status bar?

It's same on all letters on keyboard. I can normaly expand status bar. In browser or gallery scroll works fine, without any difficulties. Today I spoke with one man, and he has same issue, with the same phone.

That's weird. Look like desire 820 have problems with Touch drivers or something? My Touch does not work on borders but in twrp it works completely normal.

i don't know what is the problem but try this app if it help
Touch Recalibrate

or try this
1. Open “Settings” and go to “Language and Keyboard”
2. Tap “HTC Sense Input”
3. Tap “Advanced”
4. Tap “Calibration tool” (Calibrate your screen for a better touch experience)
5. Now you are asked to type the given sentence
6. One done, Calibration Complete message appears
7. Hit “Reset Calibration” to reset screen to factory default

Thanks for helping.
I tried both proposal but nothing, situation is the same. I think that's something wrong on mainboard.

[Q] HW Keyboard Shortcuts gone on CM7

Hey guys,
Tried searching for this several times with no luck and this (bug?) annoys the crap out of me.
Has anyone noticed that the hardware keyboard shortcuts no longer work with CM7?
That is to say:
[menu + a] = select all
[menu + c] = copy
[menu + v] = paste
Anybody know of a solution or workaround?
Thanks
Are these shortcuts also set in the cyanogenmod settings? It may be a bug of the version you are on, try rolling back one or two versions.
I've been on several of the CM7 nightlys (currently on RC4) and none of them have these shortcuts configured. They were working out of the box on stock rom, CM6 and MIUI.
As far as i Know these are standard shortcuts that have always "just worked" without having to set them up anywhere.
As detailed in this thread under the section "Keyboard Tips":
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8596886&postcount=1
Nobody?
Is my question posted in the wrong section or am I the only one facing this issue?
In any text box while using the hardware keyboard:
Is anyone able to select all text using the shortcut "menu + a"
or copy text using "menu + c"

Yep
Except that in some cases the menu stills pops up when doing that, which kills the selection

I thought I was crazy. Maybe there's two of us crazies, then. With CM7, I just can't Select All with the hardware keyboard. My conclusion is that since Gingerbread hasn't hit any keyboard-toting phones, there may be something missing from the code.

Me (LG GW620 owner) and my friend (HTC G2 owner) faced this problem, so we googled it and stumbled upon this thread.
We both have the same problem regarding the select all thing. Not touching the text box with the touch screen and using Menu+A does nothing. Touching the text box and then using Menu+A selects and deselects.
I guess we can confirm that this is not a G2-specific problem, since it also happens on a LG GW620 using the Open Eve ROM (CM7-based), and a G2 using CM7.

[Q] Add capacitive key on black HTC logo bar?

I see many videos where they say how enable the HTC logo in HTC One. Is it possible do the same thing in the new HTC One (M8) and so remove the on screen buttons?

Probably not, I would say no... With the HTC One the space over the logo was touch sensitive cause there where 2 capacitive buttons on the sides but with the New HTC One there is no sense to make it touch sensitive since the buttons are on the screen
I can confirm that this apparently is not possible. When I went to a Verizon store yesterday to pick up my M8, there was actually a Senior Technical Manager from HTC there. We chatted, and I asked him if there was a capacitive strip under the logo bar - he said that unfortunately, there was not. He did say, however, that there is other hardware under it. So at least it's not completely just there for no reason
With that much bezel on the bottom of the phone...really just should have put actual capacitive buttons there on the black where the HTC logo is and given us that screen real estate back from the virtual buttons
Thanks for the answers, now I just have to hope that in future they'll add new gesture for go back and go to the home and so deactive the on screen key because with the same sense version and settings in my HTC One when I'm in Internet I can see more display than the new One that I tried on store. The same thing in many menus like settings.

Screen off memo - can't use top buttons

Hey all,
For some reason, on my Note 7 when I pull the stylus out and write on the screen off memo feature, I cannot press the buttons at the top (i.e. pin/erase/delete/save)!
It *did* work, but a matter of hours later I can no longer access these buttons. I wonder if another app is inadvertently blocking them?
Any ideas? Cheers.
Sorry to bump, but am I literally the only one experiencing this? :/
I found that I have to double tap them, I think that it is that way to avoid unintentional touches
Thanks, although sadly that doesn't work.
That said, it looks like we're all about to get a brand new Note 7 anyway so I'll leave it for now
I just got my replacement Note 7 and now i also cant use the top buttons. On my old one everything seemed to be fine =(

One UI 2.1 gesture problem

Did anyone notice that after updating note 10+ (in my case) to one ui 2.1 , The “back” gesture from the sides of the screen is not working while the keyboard is opened and shown on the screen.
for example when you texting on the screen (and the keyboard is on) you can do back gesture just in case you collapse the keyboard down or if you do the gesture above the keyboard (the upper half of the screen).

Oh i see, they moved it, you have to swype above the keyboard, to get it to go back.. Not on the keyboard!
I think that change makes sense, prevents accidental go back when you swipe to type...
BUT, you can fix it easily. Download One Hand Operation Plus from Good Lock, there's a setting called "Fit to keyboard" that does exactly what you want

Sri lanka... no option
Same here, work as before 2.1
Bump
this option is disabled for me after upgrading to 2.1 too. really miss it now
Bump
Had the same issue after a factory all is working fine again.
Bump
Seem like it duplicate with feature in One Hand Operator+ and they decided to remove it in default gesture.
Post one Ui 2.1 update
Not glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing issues, but glad I'm not alone in thinking I am.
I did notice the option to change or remove the gesture features to hide the keyboard.
I want to know why my keyboard is totally different. The keys, predictive text words that have been learned are gone or replaced with something different. Its uncomfortable. My biggest gripe is that a game that I play, pubg mobile is running terribly laggy now. I've tried all the obvious fixes too. Nothing makes it better.
