Did anyone notice that after updating note 10+ (in my case) to one ui 2.1 , The “back” gesture from the sides of the screen is not working while the keyboard is opened and shown on the screen.
for example when you texting on the screen (and the keyboard is on) you can do back gesture just in case you collapse the keyboard down or if you do the gesture above the keyboard (the upper half of the screen).

No, in Germany

yeah same here. seems like they have removed that option. previously there was an option to enable slide to back while using the keyboard.

Oh i see, they moved it, you have to swype above the keyboard, to get it to go back.. Not on the keyboard!
I think that change makes sense, prevents accidental go back when you swipe to type...
BUT, you can fix it easily. Download One Hand Operation Plus from Good Lock, there's a setting called "Fit to keyboard" that does exactly what you want

Same here, work as before 2.1
Bump
this option is disabled for me after upgrading to 2.1 too. really miss it now

Had the same issue after a factory all is working fine again.
Bump
Seem like it duplicate with feature in One Hand Operator+ and they decided to remove it in default gesture.
Post one Ui 2.1 update
Not glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing issues, but glad I'm not alone in thinking I am.
I did notice the option to change or remove the gesture features to hide the keyboard.
I want to know why my keyboard is totally different. The keys, predictive text words that have been learned are gone or replaced with something different. Its uncomfortable. My biggest gripe is that a game that I play, pubg mobile is running terribly laggy now. I've tried all the obvious fixes too. Nothing makes it better.

Just got my One X and had a quick glance before tea. You guys found any cool features or tips/tricks? Decent apps maybe?

I can't recommend the xda app enough
I've changed my keyboard to swiftkey x and love it more compared to stock. Just feels easier to type with all this screen space. Only thing I can really recommend so far, I haven't entirely got it all setup how I'd like yet as I've been switching between my sg2.

One nice touch is pinch / zoom in the message app. Sometimes if I go out without my glasses, under certain lights I struggle. Just being able to resize text on the fly without messing with setting options is great.
Although it's a little bit old now, I love quick controls on stock browser. Enough to make me stick with it over chrome....for now anyway.

Definitely replace the browser! I like Smart Keyboard Pro but there are many good ones.
Neat tricks in sense... in the gallery there is a dropdown box to browse your/other peoples facebook galleries without having to use that steaming pile of a facebook app. Soundhound integration into radio app/widget is nice. Love the lockscreen when you get an sms/email etc.

"guest mode"
anybody knows how to enable it? cannot seem to find it
some valuable 3rd party apps:
1tap cleaner - configurable to auto clean cache as frequent as every hour
screen off & lock - i personally put it on the dock so i don't have to always reach the power button
wifi file explorer - wireless data transfer
screebl - even you set your screen timeout to 15seconds, the screen won't time out as long as you handle your phone to the angle/axis you set on the configuration, good for reading on internet or books
I love the fact you can take pic from recorded video, brilliant.

i didnt know about this!!
yup I think its what they call HTC gestures, wish they ate detailed somewhere
but one thing I suspect gestures mode seems to confuse the browser
OK, here's are two cool ones for you:
1. Quick Uninstall: from the app drawer, tap & hold on any "un-installable" app, you'll see the the bar at the top of the screen change to Cancel and Uninstall. Drag to Uninstall, confirm.... DONE. Compare this to Android's default behaviour!
2. Go to the Gallery app, pick a pitcure, tap Edit->Effects. Apply any effect, first, then tap Edit at the top right corner. You get to adjust Exposure, Sharpness, Contrast, Saturation, Vignette, add and combine MORE filters etc... and when you're done, you can save your adjustments as a NEW PRESET!
Awesome, yes?

This one has been around since Sense 3.0. You don't even need to scroll, just tap with two fingers at the relevant spot on the screen (tap on the bottom will take you to bottom entries, top to top entries!). You can also use it in:
- People - Scrolls by letter
- Dialer - Scrolls by letter
- Most other apps scroll by Date: Gallery, Messaging, Mail...
Cheers

[quote="home]Surely its swipe all the way. It's the best keyboard out there

I can't really get away with swiping to write. I used to use Swype back on Symbian/S60, but I much prefer SwiftKey's predictive text. Once you've used it for a little while (and it's learned from your emails/texts/social networking), you only really have to type the first couple of letters of a word for it to supply what you want. And if you're really predictable (or boring?) like me, once you've got the first word or two you can get through the bulk of a sentence with only one tap for each subsequent word. I struggle without it now, because it removes so much thought from typing on the phone keyboard.
Although we are kind of straying away from the 'nice features of the phone' discussion

Well, so far so good. The only negative thing I can say about this release, which may improve over updates, is that Samsung's apps just seem to take maybe around a second more to load.
The dark mode and the adjustments all over the UI for one-hand operation overshadow this one small complaint.

I also updated from Oreo to Pie and was running substratum with sungstrum plugin. I deleted all the themes and cleared all caches and restarted before upgrading to Pie. When upgraded it was all fine but when switching to dark mode all my system apps went berserk and started force closing. Switching back to light mode solved that problem. But apparently there where still files from substratum conflicting with the dark theme. So I had to reset to factory settings and after that the problem was entirely gone. So maybe this is a heads up for some one else before upgrading.
The first drawback I encountered is the app drawer. When trying to move app icons to the bottom part of the screen it sets it automatically back to the top position. I find this very strange given the fact that Samsung wanted to let us use the bottom part of the screen more than the top part. Now I still have to reach to the top part of my screen. Not very "one handed" friendly. I use my icons in groups maybe that has something to do with it.
For now I still have to discover the upgrade more, but it looks promising for now. Its fast and the UI is smooth as butter.

I guess you have the One Hand Operation + which is part of Good Lock. I would not uninstall it, but embrace, it's the best side gestures you get on Android and it's native to Sammy! You just need to know how to set it up. You can e.g. swipe diagonally up to get to your recents, swipe horizontally to "back" and diagonally down to home. I also have the diagonal long swipe set to lock the screen, pretty neat! The grey lines I don't like, but just open the app and make them transparent and you're good to go
Having problems with multiple keyboards too, I don't think it likes the curved edge
Previously, double tab recent tab will switch to previous app.
For Android 10, I need to press and drag from center to bring up recent apps. However, I can't find faster way to switch to previous app.
Any one know how?
If you do that motion (for recents) and flick it to the right in just one motion switches back to previous app.

I tried this method https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-...ova-launcher-and-other-third-party-launchers/ but it always seems to go back to the nav bar at the bottom after a while.
I don't know if anyone else is facing the sake issue in regard to the navigation gestures. But when I type faster on the screen keyboard I sometimes end up in the home screen or launching another application as if I hit a hidden home key or recent key.

I recently found out that good lock does not work on android 10, and I rely on it very much, I use one handed operation because I hate the nav bar, I can not tolerate having all the space it takes being wasted, so I have it hidden and I use gestures, but I am seeing that gesture nav is a nightmare on android 10, I think I will stick on blocking the update, as I did since day one, precisely because of these things

I'm on Android 10 and have Good lock installed, One Hand Operation+ works fine. Not all apps are available in Good lock yet but should be within a couple of months, like when One UI originally came out.
One hand operations+ works also on Android 10, with that you have granular customizable gestures including switch to last app, recents and a comfy lateral quick switch for all app opened! OHO+ works also without good lock app installed, you can sideload it from apkmirror or here in the xda forums taking advantage of nicelock. Nicelock also integrates an information tab with all the modules working on Android 10
Hex installer is working
On andriod 10. Hex installer fixed the weird nav bar issue when set to swipe. I set the nav bar size to 5. Swipes work without the huge black bar under the keyboard.
One hand operation still works. I use nova but one hand operation is my preference anyway.
Also, I cannot hide the carrier logo or move the clock. I tried systemui turner. It doesnt work for clock or carrier. Some other functions work though.
For now I just set the weather consistent notification to get rid of the AT&T on statusbar.
Hopefully goodlock will fix this when updated.

Good Lock is updating to be more compatible with Android 10. It is not finished yet. When all capability issues are resolved and updated, that's when we will get our update.
