Error when trying to unlock bootloader. Anyone who can help? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys. Following. Yesterday I tried to finally unlock the bootloader on my h815 and I was really excited and given it is the EU Model I actually expected it to work just fine. But it didn't. And now I am more than confused. The error I get using the LG Website is "Device ID is unmatched. Please check your Device ID. Your account will be locked if you enter the wrong Device ID more than x time(s)." I checked the Device ID a thousand times. Wrote it by hand and copied n pasted it from the console - no difference. Checked the IMEI too. But the one under the battery matches the one on the box matches the one I get with the IMEI Code you type into the dialer. Also checked the country code but well it is CZE which should be just fine. Any suggestions/solutions to my problem?
Cheers,
a very confused and annoyed Lisa

In that case you should e-mail LG and ask them directly so that you won't screw anything up. Since everything is alright I have no idea what's the problem and your best bet is with them

IMEI unknown, but phone working normally

Hi folks,
strange issue, I bought the HTC One X locked to our network, from another guy. It was rooted via HTC dev with Mike's revolution over it. Everything was ok, except it was locked to a network I dont want to use with.
So I tried with HTCSimUnlock.com, purchased unlock code, received it instantly, and tried several times to insert it. But every time, display showed "unknown password" and no luck.
What I discovered when I took to record the procedure of unsuccessful inserting the code to claim for money back, was that imei number is missing, and actually in the settings imei showe as "unknown". The most interesting thing is that phone is working normally, with of course, sim card from the network that the phone is locked to.
I wrote to HTCSimUnlock.com ,and waiting for the answer, but I dont know should I do something, try to get the RUU back to stock rom, or hard reset, but am little afraid that phone could stop working...

you could try the hard reset or RUU. whether the phone will stop working or not, i personally would try it, but you make your own choice. its a risk best thing i can suggest is play it safe, sell it on and get an unbranded one
How could you buy a unlock code without IMEI in the first place? And secondly, if you reboot into bootloader and choose "show barcode" then I guess there is a IMEI? In that case, just try a new rom, or better yet a ruu.
Download the appropriate Ruu and update it, this is a common issue on the S2 as well with ics during flashing, possibly someone updated it before you and it didnt go according to plan.
first time i have come across IMEI known, i know the serial number came back unkown once, try the RUU, like i said i dont think it will mess up your phone because your restoring it to factory conditions obviously.

no, imei was there in the first place, and after my attempt to unlock it, it dissapeared...
Then, I listened to you, and went to barcode, and imei was there normally.
Now, when I bootup, imei is here! Crazy staff...thanks...I really dont understand what happened...

HTC One X carrier unlock wont work.

Hi
I ordered an Carrier unlock from my operator 3 but the code doesnt work.
Why is that? Im on stock ROM and nothing custom.
I even called HTC and they have the database of the IMEI and codes and will check if the provided code is correct. Maybe they can unlock it. Waiting for a call from HTC 2.
I hope they cant sort it out.

A thread search will show show this an issue with 3 .Best of luck, I don't think others have had any.

"Hidden" SWOV Menu

I was poking around within the settings menu earlier after tapping IMEI SV 5 times under About Phone Status I notice popped up saying SWOV enabled. The only thing I noticed was below IMEI SV appeared a new item - Main software version: V10a-OPT5-SI
Curious if anyone knows what this means or used for?
This one is interesting, as I cannot see anything online about a menu! An SWOV seems to be exclusive to LG based on Software - what it means though is a complete unknown to me.
To be having a SWOV menu, which after a restart you have to activate it, does seem weird when there is no menu to be found... or I am blind and someone will give a clearer answer on this.
*edit*
I might be wrong but SWOV could mean SoftWare O__ Version? I don't know what the O is to save my life but I have a good feeling someone will say what it is xD!
"Main software version " activated under the IMEI SV menu.
for me : " V10a-GLOBAL-COM "
But I do not know what it does.
Just kicking in, even if the thread is really old. But Google didn't find anything so I am here to explain:
SWOV will get activated somehow by clicking several times on an option in telephone-info. Can't explain directly where, but what it does:
SWOV is the "SoftWare Original Version". It displays the version, the telephone was originally shipped with. It's probably hardcoded and can't get changed by software directly. It normally helps to find the correct ROM for your device, if you're curious about. Or where the phone originally was meant to work. For me, it's "V10d-EUR-XX".
For example: "V10a-GLOBAL-COM":
V10d = Shipped with Android version
GLOBAL = Target Operator
COM = (only guessing) Branding?
Anyways: Sorry for gravedigging, but should help some people out I think.
Just unlocked my SWOV accidently now too. Mine says v20d-OPT1-YT
After googling it, I came to this thread.
...Has anyone figured this out yet?

Does it match with the sofware? If not u must had flashed a different csc version of the v20d for e.g TWN ...so the software shows it v20d-twn but originally ur phone v20d-OPT1...its either that or ur phone is repaired or refurbished ...

H815P here...
On H815v10e after enabling SWOV menu new option appeared under Developer Options - Enable OEM Unlock. Can I now unlock and relock bootloader in a Nexus way without .bin from LG? It's very interesting.
Mine says V20i-OPT1-HQ
I bought mine new btw
SVOW menu
I also unlocked this on my LG K9. For me it says Vlli-LAO-SI.

Device ID is unmatched when trying to open bootloader

Hello, Im trying to open my bootloader and root my LG G4(H815) but when Im trying to get the unlock.bin file, I get this error from LG: "Device ID is unmatched. Please check your Device ID. Your account will be locked if you enter the wrong Device ID more than x times."
From what I've read, the reason is probably because I had the common LG problem and I had my motherboard replaced(twice, if it matters). anyway, I don't really know what to do now, how to get a new IMEI number? Is there anything I can do on my own to do that? should I contact the local LG customer service? or the shop I bought the phone from?
Thanks.
anyone?

Reusing a LG Bootloader unlock.bin token

So my LGG4 is off getting repaired due to the dreaded bootloop issue. Once I have it back I plan on unlocking the Bootloader and rooting again. I have heard issues whereby repaired G4's get the 'DeviceID unmatched' error when applying for a unlock token via the LG website. I understand you can contact LG to get this rectified; however I have found the email from LG I got when I first unlocked the Bootloader, with the unlock.bin file attached.
My question is: Should I run into any DeviceID issues during the unlocking procedure, can I reuse this file to unlock my Bootloader, or do I need to go through the process to get another re-sent? The email details a specific DeviceID so my initial thought is a No, but I did wonder (hope) this number is just used to generate a generic token that is matched via the IMEI? Any help much appreciated.

Lol only reason i knew is cause i came across sam prob a few times now as u can suspect. Ive never heard of any problems with anyone and lg doing this. Should be pretty straight foward. Call em. Might have to goto a higher level of tech service not sure
Im just assuming standard support level is not very supportive lol.
This depends on how they fix your device.
Carphone Warehouse in the UK fixed mine by swapping the mainboard to a 701,
They did not tamper with the IMEI or Device ID's on the replacement board and swapped the sticker under my battery cover to reflect the new details.
I did not need to contact LG as i just requested an unlock for the new IMEI and Device ID Pair.
Hope you get sorted

i was assuming lg done his i didnt even know aftermarket companys did the repair authorized of coarse
they had to pull the device id off of the old one and program it to the new one so technicly they did tamper with it
they may have been able to pull the info from the imei i dont know but my note 5s device id changes from rom to rom sometimes and i have to update it with the company who unlocked it so it holds same imei
just trying to wrap my head around how they got uree bootlooped devices id as it can be changed even if iemi stays the same

I got a new IMEI and Device ID and just went through the unlock proceedure again with this new info.
Thats what i meant by them not tampering with it, I got a new device with my old casing/screen.
They did not transfer my IMEI or Device ID to the new board.
CPW are authorised on behalf of LG to repair the device and since i bought it from them it was easier/safer for me to take it into a store.
