How do you get TB to work from another device?
I backed up to Google Drive from M8, then restored to HTC 10, but I can't get my backups to show up.
TIA

Copied my back up folder, it's quite old some of the back ups are from apps I installed several phones ago.
Phone to computer to phone. Then locate it in the app.
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Copy.
Couldn't get it to work, but was able to sync data from Google Drive to TB over WiFi.
All is good.
HTC10
I copied my backups from my old phone to my PC, hooked up my HTC 10, then copied them back to the same location on my phone (using expanded storage).
I downloaded Titanium Backup, checked that the backup directory was set properly in the general preferences, and my backups appeared as expected.
Has anyone having issue figured anything out. I'm in the same boat - HTC M8 TB Pro backup will not restore on the HTC 10. When I verify the backup on the M8 everything is good. TB recognizes the elements but will not allow a restore. when I verify the backup on the 10 it's all errors...
Where is the Settings Button?
...first Post was in wrong Thread (HTC Desire) - Sorry Mods!
So I write my problem here again!
Hey guys,
as you can see on the attached picture I don't have the "Settings Button" in the Titanium App??
Can somebody helb me out please - I have no idea why it is gone or why it isn't there anymore?
Maybe the additional information are needed to easier identify my problem:
HTC 10
S-OFF
BL: Locked
FW: 2.41.401.4
OS: Purefusion 8.0.0
Thx

Hi, I rooted my phone yesterday and now I'm trying to put back all apps, but I have a small big issue
I have a msgstore.db.crypt7 file on my PC with all my old messages. When I switched from an M7 to M8, I used that to restore my messages and it worked. Now for some reason, WA won't restore my backup. I have the file in the Databases folder, it just does nothing. Also, if I try to back up the conversations I have now (a grand total of 2 messages xD) and I re-install WA, I get to restrore them :|
Basically, old backup (I have 3, none works) doesn't work, new ones do. Why?
I have the same problem. Moving to sd card made no change.

After the update to Android 4.4.3 my M8 cannot make backups with the HTC Back-up service on Wi-Fi. On LTE it works well.
I become the following message:The HTC backup service is unavailable at this time. Please try again later. (Translated with Google)
Not sure which carrier you have but im on TMO stock M8 with the new 4.4.3 update and i just performed a back up on WiFi using the HTC Backup.

Stock ROM?
I haven't had any luck with the HTC backup lately. It seems to get part way and fail. It I run it manually it gives me a generic could not reach HTC backup service error.
I am complete stock rom with S-Off and Super CID. The problem is not the WiFi because it dont works now with LTE.

I never encountert the error but read of it on a German forum. They went through the following for a solution:
1) clear htc backup data under settings APPs
2) clear play services data under settings APPs for those who use Google account to backup (maybe also dropbox for those on dropbox)
3) rename phone
After those steps they set up HTC backup again and it worked.
Some of them wiped cache as well prior to setting up backup again, but doesn't make sense for me in this case.

It do not work for me. My wife's M7 have the same problem after update Android 4.4.3
Hi,
I am unable to restore my data from HTC backup (google drive).
I can start the restore, but it stalls at around 35% sometimes 35, 36 or 38%
I believe I have triet everything
- force close facebook apps (read it online)
- clear HTC backup data
- remove/add HTC account
- disable google recover
- Tried different ROMS, stock, ARHD 22.1, ARHD 11.2
I just chatted with HTC and they says that there's a general problem with restoring - I was kind of hoping someone here would be willing to test if they are able to restore?
Doesn't work past few weeks. It doesn't event work on my wife's HTC desire 610 and she's fully stock with locked boot loader. So yes its a general HTC problem.[emoji4]
I was having the same issue and just gave up on it. Used to work fine. I'm on lollipop now, but I think it was still stalling out when using 4.4.4 as well.
OK, Thanks for your input.
I just regret that I did not make a backup with MyBackup Pro instead of HTC Backup, it have just worked great the last few times I have used it

I just did a RUU back to stock and htc backup restored my stuff fine .. this was on Tuesday 11/18/14. It worked the same as it always has.
Interesting, do you use Google Drive or Dropbox as backup "server"?
Hello,
So a few days ago, My HTC One M8 decided to randomly reboot itself. When it restarted it went through the whole optimizing each app (which was weird) and then loaded the home screen. But now most of my stuff has reset itself! I was logged out of every app I am normally automatically logged into. All my photos are still there and text messages. But I have lost every single person in my contact book and call log history! This is what I would like to get back.
I made a backup a couple months ago using HTC Backup. This is what happens when I try to restore the backup:
Apps>HTC Backup>Restore from backup>Checking for saved backup>
Then it finds the backup on Google Drive (G*******[email protected]) So I select the HTC (This Phone) backup and click next>
Then it saids setting up accounts>Choose an account>G*******[email protected]>
Then I get the following error message
"Incorrect cloud storage account"
"Please sign in with the cloud storage account for the selected backup"
Can someone please help? I have opened the Drive app and logged into my account and tried again but still nothing. I assume this problem is arising because of the Drive app or the HTC backup app resetting itself. But I really need my contacts back!
I am running Android 6.0. Not rooted.
Things I have tried to restore my contacts:
Wondershare Dr.Fone
Resyncing contacts on my Gmail, Hotmail etc. (but i never saved them to those)
HTC Phonebook>Contacts to display>All contacts
None of these have worked.
Thanks in advance!
Ok just found out HTC Backup isn't supported with Android 6.0 :/
So with that option off the table.. Is there any way at all that I can get my contact list back?
Ok well seems like I still should have access to the HTC restore function just not the backup function with Android 6.0.
Does anyone know how to help me restore from the back up?
Thanks
HTC restore will restore the backup that you made prior to Marshmallow.
Don't you backup you contact with gmail account ? When you sync it, it will sync your contact ?
The only way that maybe work (no guarantee) is do factory reset. During the setup, it will ask you to restore from which backup that you recently have with Marshmallow and make your selection to restore (don't choose today .. but earlier)

Backing up contacts to Google/Gmail is default and automatic. So unless you changed the default, they should be backed up, and will restore automatically, when you login to your Google account.
Dear,
i have setup the backup & reset
Backup my data is on
backup account is my gmail account
Automatic restore is on
but when i try to restore from htc backup , it's shown None !!
would you please help
BR
Bikoo
any help?
any help?
Thing the issue is HTC backup, don't believe that it directly uses Google Backup. So when you do a Google Backup, you are backing up your apps list, WIFI passwords, etc. When you do a restore, you don't get personalization like you did with HTC backup. Think that HTC is getting away from the backup, and using the HTC transfer wizard.
OMG means no more full backup !!! as my M7 use to be !!

HTC Backup was retired with MM Android.
If you don't think your backup is working turn it off and turn it back on wait 24h as it seems to like to backup when the phone is idle during the night.
To check the status of your backup go to you Google Drive or use the App on the phone - click on settings then Manage backup and it will show when your apps was backed up. If you have no backups again go back to turn it off and back on and it should kick back into life.
I had to do it on my 10 as it had kept my old M8 backups after I lost all data when i S-offed lol it was only a few days out so didnt lose much.
Google backup is actually quite good these days it just works....when it works

Thanks , i follow ur instruction and lets see after 24 as it was on already but no backup so i make refresh .. lets see
Thank you
If I am not mistaken, with MM backup, you can only restore when you are first setting up the phone as new or after a reset. It will ask you to restore after you enter your Google account.
The restore option you see in your HTC 10 is to restore from an HTC Back up, which you might have made from another phone. When using the back up in HTC 10 it will go to Google back up, not HTC backup.

You will not be able back up all your data, but you will get all apps downloaded from Play Store to download again. As for the backup data, you can check what you have backed up by going to the "Drive" app, settings & "Manage backup". You will find a list of all backed up apps on Google.

Manage backup from Drive app is empty !
Can't say why, but that probably means you don't have a Google backup. See the accounts settings, is Google syncing OK in accounts & sync?

I had that problem on both my old M8 and the 10, i had to turn the backup off and back on wait 24h and it seems to kick it back into life. Once it start working it seems to work perfectly keeping the backups fresh and up to date..
As there isn't a manual switch its a bit of a pain as you have to wait so long before you can see if it helped or not.
