If it's not the "Show Touches" setting in Developer Options, then yea request a replacement
Edit: Any way you could screenshot that for us?

Omm okay, that's not "Show Touches" for sure. I'll replace it tomorrow.

3 phones within 1 month..lol

First nexus had a charging port issue...Verizon sent me a refurbished one..Second phone had the lower section of screen sunk in and soft keys not responding to touch...third phone received today wouldn't call out or take calls but data was working..went straight to where i bought it tried 2 new sim cards level 2 tech support with employee......to find out if you go through 3 phones you can receive a new one that's what they did for me.....how can Verizon send these refurbished phones out when there supposed to meet regulations a pass a certain requirement before releasing these?...wow

Wow. Sorry to hear that. Thankfully mine appears to be working great and no sunken screen here.

Could you elaborate more on the "sunken screen" problem?
The soft keys on my Nexus doesn't seem to be responding too well. Turning on the "Show touches" under developer options indicate that the touch area of the screen where the soft keys are is not as accurate as the rest of the screen.
Thank you.
i know..i had Motorola Droid,Droid x,and x2...then just went Samsung i waited for this phone for months...this phone is the best i think....its the Verizon inspection dept that stinks releasing phones not being fully inspected and tested..lol...

If you go to developer options and click on show touches, you can see that the touch response near the bottom edge of the screen (where the softkeys are) is less as accurate as the response on the other parts of the screen. This is not a software issue related to the softkeys because if you go to the browser and rotate so that the softkeys are near the earpiece, the same inaccurate response issue can be seen.
Anyone else have this problem?
To me the sensitivity on the soft keys seems a little less responsiveness ..i was playing around with the apps that show sensitivity on press and touch locations seems to me there not the same from the soft key area and right above it..or is it just me?.......

The second phone i received from Verizon was refurbished the screen was not flush with the case almost as if the screen was sunken in more then the top half..i should have been more specific ..they took it back though..so. i was happy

You see this only on your third device? For me, the touchscreen is less sensitive when it is close to the edge of the screen (near soft key area).
I wonder if i have a faulty device or if that's the way the hardware was implemented

Black dots on the screen?

Hi. I bought a galaxy nexus today.
When i have the phone on and the screen is black then i can see some black parts(the screen is black, but there's some parts that are extra black). Is this normal? Or is the screen broken? Going to post a picture soon.
Btw my dad dropped the phone today. Maybe it's because of that?
Thanks in advance

This happens on my screen too. It is only really visible in a dark room when the screen is black like when FaceBook is loading a picture. I also get the black dots and a black line horizontally across the whole screen. I never really thought much of it because those pixels seem to work fine under normal conditions.

Normal.

Ive noticed it on mine too. Hasn't really bothered me since its hardly noticeable. I think it is worth mentioning that my dots aren't like single pixels. It is more like a blotch or a cluster.
I have a Galaxy SII (TMO) and sounds like this is similar to the issue we are all suffering from. Here's a link discussing it - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1300133

Okay thanks

Transformer Prime has tons of black dots.. i'm guessing it is the touch sensing stuff on the glass/under the glass

[Q] Yellow Tinted Screen Banding??? [SOLVED]

Hello! I've had my Galaxy Nexus GSM for 6 months now, and lately I've been noticing a thick yellow horizontal band across the top of the screen on blues, whites, and grays. Turning up the brightness helps a little, but the band is still visible. I'm considering sending it in for warranty repair.

sorry had to remove "http / /" from beginning of links because I'm a new member and the system wouldn't let me

Is this normal for an AMOLED screen? Should I send it in for warranty repair? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Mines like that as well, the only fix is to send it in or replace the screen sadly, i've searched and searched. It's actually due to the AMOLED.
Edit - on top of that I've cracked mine, I'm just saving for the n4 hopefully they don't burn the screen.

Oh yeah, pretty much 75% of us owners have that problem
I personally think its the way the processor was installed, and how the radio absolutely ravages the battery.

screen creak...

My nexus 7 (2013) is a few weeks old now and ever other tap on the screen seems to make this creaking noise like the screen is moving. And in the top left corner the screen seems loose. Will a full body case stop this? And yes, this is a 2013 model, I originally returned my old nexus 7 2012 model for an iPad mini because the screen was coming off. I am horrified that this may be the case on this newer model... If anyone has experienced this I would appreciate your feedback. Also, I have realised that when I pick it up off my table the back case creaks as well. It seems I have a dud tablet I presume
Mine was great out of the box, now it creaks very loudly on the top left, top right is starting to develop a creak also. Case doesn't help. I think you'd need to disassemble and add adhesive under the screen or something lol

Up to u I guess, I just use the nexus upside down, so the creaky corner is on the bottom right where I'd never touch it.
I use gravity box and xposed framework to enable the screen rotation.
mine creaks at the bottom around the usb port. this with the dodgy touch screen means i might return it.
Mine started to creak also... I guess that's what you get for paying under $300 for a tablet with nice specs - - they make it up with shoddy build quality.

so sad
Apart from a bit of dust under the screen and a few dead pixels and the creak 's fine. So I'll live with it
Yeah I'll live with it too, but I'm not supporting Asus ever again, after having the same problem with gen 1...
i hve it nearly 3 months, but so far no such prob

I believe it is if you claim it as a loose screen!

Nexus 5 with horizontal line

Hi I have a new nexus 5x that I got from lg and when I swipe to the right or scroll down the screen a horizontal line that looks like it is pixelated. Also when i go to the phone dialer it always shows up. Included pics. Has anyone else had this problem.
Contact play store for warranty exchange.
I purchased from LG but it almost seems like it is a software glitch or a touchscreen issue maybe cable lose or something like that
Nothing like that.
Definitely a defective screen...
