Can you get a picture?
Well I tried but its quite hard.
The glass is supposed to be onside the chassis and well it is for the 70% of the phone.
But half of the right side and especially the right top corner, you can feel it is off by a bit, and when you press slightly it goes in where its supposed to but doesnt stay there.
It is as if the adhesive of the glass isnt holding on the corner any more.

I would bring that back to where you bought it, fire it across the counter and request a new one! It's obviously a faulty built one.

Who started THIS vile trend of replying with "This." Is it cool or something? I dunno, just figured I'd try it out. Will report back on my findings.
Been more than a month that i bought it.
And can't demand an exchange, got a friend buy it in UK and bring it over here. No way to take it back to UK for a while.
Was just wondering if it happened to someone else, or if someone had any recommendations about what ppssibly could cause this or how i could possibly fix it.
It's been perfectly normal for weeks ;(

Are you positive it didn't get exposure to excessive pressure? That is the only logical way the glass would start to "pop" out! It's a strange one, never heard anything on these forums that is similar.
Yeah I am pretty positive, I baby my phones, my nexus one is still without a scratch.
That is why I felt the need to create a topic, since I never heard of something similar on any of the phones I owned/followed.

the bottom left of my phone started making a weird clicking noise every time I squeezed it, then I looked at it and the glass was coming off just a tad, I went back to the store and 5 of them that came out were doing the same thing, try your self, squeeze the bottom left of your phone.

was your GN made it china by any chance?
It should have a 1 year warranty against manufacturing defect. If there are no marks on it from a drop, they should replace that no questions asked. If the retailer wont take it, call Samsung.
Are you sure you don't mean the bottom right?
That corner actually is a tad higher than the other corners.
Nope my issue is on top left.
The international warranty doesnt include exchanges. If there is a manufacturing defect then the device should be sent to the country that it is bought in.
At least that is what the warranty card in tge box says.

Hi,
I had similar issue but located in the bottom-right corner of the phone. What I did was a bit risky but I just pressed the glass into the chassis a few times and it went in place. After this it looked perfect. Of course I can't guarantee the result, this is how I made it, of course this is not a professional way to repair things like that .
This is another time I have to write that something wrong is happening with Samsung's quality control. Quantity over quality, definitely. This is not an isolated case, I have read other posts where people were complaining about this, out-of-center camera sensor placement, clicks from the speaker, bad screen etc, not to mention the famous volume rocker bug. When you buy a phone for $700 you at least demand no obvious, visible defects.
I'm also having this issue on my phone, except that the screen is coming off on the left bottom part of the phone.
This was a replacement phone for the first one that was exchanged as DOA because of screen discoloration.
Went to the shop today and the sales rep was giving me attitude ("are you sure it isn't supposed to be like that?") and told me to return on Monday when the manager was there. Have to say I'm not really feeling the charm of Nexus at this point anymore. The iPhone might be fragile and limited, but at least the production quality is top notch...

Have you ever gone to any iphone forums and read problems iphone users have with hardware or software? Stuff happens with anything electronic that is mass produced. Every now and then you will have something that is not like it should be.
Let's not turn this into an iPhone vs Android battle =p
Each phone is graeat, for the ones that love them, each have flaws each have great parts.
Anyways, it appears that this is not an uncommon problem, and I think it is unlikely it will be causing much of a problem in the long term.
I'm pretty positive that the problem is caused by the adhesive holding the glass, not powerful enough, or not put enough at certain areas to hold on to it after a while.
It's not like, it's making the phone unfunctional or anything. I was wondering if it was only me having the problem, and appears not.
This is the 3rd Nexus phone Google had a say in, and all 3 had huge flaws somehow, which is tragic. Maybe G, should be more careful with choosing it's partners =)

Is that how its supposed to be ? My bottom right corner is higher than the benzel, all other corners are a hair below(if looking at in portrait). Being 4 days old planning on going to store to get replacement, seems this would affect a screen protector that i havent installed yet..
Hey everyone
I have put in a request to get my one x replaced with phones4u due to the screen flexing issue and a creaking case. Yesterday my friend wanted to see the phone as he was thinking of getting one and he dropped it! It wasn't from much of a hight but it has left a few marks in the case...
Should this affect my replacement?

Depends how bad the scratches are and if it's really visible.

Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
you might have some problems because they'll try to say the problem was due to you dropping the phone =\
well i've emailed my account manager to ask now, hopefully they will still swap it for me as its not related to the original fault although i guess there's no way to prove that.
If not that my phone is insured so I'll get a new handset one way or another.
body scratches shouldnt hinder the replacement as long as screws and warranty stickers are untempered.
I think its no Problem, until something is broken. I worked for 3 Years for a HTC Repair Center and we are only look for broken displays and broken Cases. Scratches makes no Problems. Good luck Man

it was dropped from around pocket hight to the floor, its left it with scuffs in the top left and bottom left back corners.
Clearly only scuffs to the casing, no cracks or anything.

You should be fine. If they ask about the scuffs, you don't need to say you dropped it, but just that you had it in a jeans pocket with those metal rivets and you didn't realise it was rubbing against it, or something like that.
By the way is it the grey one? If so, did it go shiny where there scuffs are?

You should be fine I read somewhere they'll class it as DOA and they don't bother with DOA phones. They'll make a claim on it or something. I could be wrong though but clearly the screen issues were the reason you were sending it back as long as that is still there you'll be fine, worse that will happen is that they'll just send it back.
EDIT: Ouch, definitely need a case as I'm just like your friend prone to dropping! No replacement housing available as well for the time being so need to be extra careful.
Ohh nasty, I think it should be fine since its getting replaced for another reason, but they could refuse since the screen flicker issue is getting fixed next OTA update

Its not the flickering, its where the screen goes black and ripples when you press the edge of the phone slightly, plus the case creaks in places.
I dropped my phone yesterday when my team scored in the last minute of a cup semi final. It got trampled. Screen smashed to bits. Remarkably it still works and its still in one piece.
Screen is smashed but somehow held together and still responsive

I read about screem gap but i was unsure what exactly was meant. I just took a closer look and found out that there is a tiny gap between my screen and phone on top in which dirt fills in and it pisses me off. I havent dropped my screen once and if i push the top left part of my phone i can hear a sort of "click".does that make my phone faulty? Im really annoyed vy the dirt that fills in... Apart from rhat phone has no problems.

send it back. that is what i am doing. left hand side of the phone between the screen and the plastic you can see dust getting inside there to. plus if you press the left hand side tad hard you can hear it creaking as well. i called HTC to see if they could replace it for me straight away without sending it for repairs..waiting for an outcome tomorrow...if they say no i will just send it for repairs and hope they find the problem and either fix it or replace it then...i know it will drag for a week but at least that way you know one way or the other it will get fixed...
i was going to say if it does not bug you then leave it..but you sound just like me that even though the phone works fine it will bug you cause you know it is there

It amazes me some of the reasons people will find to return an otherwise perfect handset. Considering the amount of serious problems floating about this phone, I don't think a creak or 1mm gap between the bezel and screen constitutes a return. Get over it and enjoy the phone.

Ive heard that the one x was made in 2 different countrys taiwan and china... china being the worst built ones buttt I must have a really faulty dhd. I've had it for 10 months now and my screen moves, doesn't fit right on the phone as there should be a lip round it but isn't my speaker isn't straight so is sloping. Looks like the cnc machine hasn't cut it right. Power button is really recessed too far in..... I think a little sqweek is nothing to really worry about if the screen falls out then ya I'd send it back.

well that is what worries me about the whole damn thing..if it gets to hot to soon and in two months down the line the screen actually does fall out
TBH ive just checked mine and it does have a slight gap with lint building up already (bare in mind ive had this phone 2 days) Also have the yellow blotch on the screen AND a dead pixel. This is by far the best phone ive ever owned...But my word these little niggles are grating on my moobs! Ive never had to send a phone off to a repair centre before but im not really willing to put up with the problems the phone has (however ridiculously small they seem to some ) You expect some software issues in an early batch, but dead pixels, discoloured screens, gaps occuring out of nowhere between the screen, its a bit much really! Im gunna have to get it sent off soon i think, gutted!

Do you even realize how big 1mm is?!!!! Get a ruler and see please....
I doubt even a blind person could enjoy a phone with a gap big as that. You would not just see this, but also feel.
I have a gap that's about 0,1-2 mm big (measuring with paper, which is about that in average I think 0,1 till 0,3 I think but also not sure) and its around the whole screen on both sides of the ring.
Ugh...1mm...
But seriously guys, how big are the gaps it makes you return it?
I mean should I return it with 0,1 mm ? (maybe less) seen a bigger gap on SGS 2.
So a few days ago I began to notice that the back of my phone is now creaking, I first heard it when i went to pick my phone up the other morning and it sounded like an old hardwood floor creaking sound, it's progressively gotten worse to where now when i hold my phone during a call if i shift my hand at all the person on the other line can hear it. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. The creaking seems to be isolated to (if you're staring at the back of the phone) the left half of the phone just below the power button and stops creaking above the phone model number beneath the glass.

So this makes me curious as to what other defects its going to have, but I'm on to a different issue, phone dropped about 2" and the digitizer broke, so when my new screen comes in i will do a walk through tutorial on how to replace it... starting to wish i had gone with the GS3...

If I use my shoulder to hold the phone to my ear I get a creaking sound too. That's the only time I've heard it though. I imagine it has to do with the glass back.
Here, too. It's the camera side, right below it, that creaks. Fortunately, it's only noticeable when I deliberately squeeze it.

Hey, so I just noticed that if I flip the phone over and orient it so the camera is on top, then it will creak when I push on the left side. You can also see the casing move in slightly. It's almost as if it's broken somewhere but you can't see any crack.
I thought the people at Best Buy had said the back was glass but it's looking more like cheap plastic at this point. Is it different on AT&T maybe?

The replacement screen was $130 went with 2 day shipping (Digitizer/LCD Assembly). Just the digitizer was only $60 but it's a good thing I went with the whole assembly because when i was trying to pull the glass out of the housing some of the shards came off by themselves, and revealed that LG "fusing" the glass to the lcd is literally glue covering the entire LCD making it damn near impossible to just replace the digitizer and make it look nice.
Also a few warnings to those disassembling their phones:
1) The battery isnt solid, more like cased in an extreemly soft metal so it will dent if not carefully removed (it's glued into the housing)
2) The chrome edge dent's very easily, have a small ding where i got impatient, TAKE YOUR TIME!
3) When removing the back cover don't cross over the volume rocker, power button, or USB port with the spudger. for the top of the back removal gently push the back cover forward dont try to shove your spudger in their, it wont work lol.
I'm going to be doing a full disassembly guide that's a lot easier to follow than the "engrish" version korea put out for us english speaking techs when my new roll of 3m tape comes in. =P
This cracking is caused by a small piece of sticky under the back cover you can either remove the sticky or ad some more this would prevent the cracking...
I posted a service guide here on XDA search my name for it... It will show how you can remove the back cover... just when taking it off remember the back can crack easy and the plastic can ding or dent rather easy and make sure you don't mess up the power button or the volume buttons

Yes, When I held the tablet with my left hand to touch the screen with my right it creaked like a rock band with bad music! Geeish.....the silver chrome or whatever the material is wasn't tight and it just bend. I returned it right away. I really didn't want to return it. However, I paid full price and not second hand money so I expect the performance to be right, that means no noise. When listening to music or watching a movie it seems as if someone was moving around and that can be pretty annoying. I tried holding it different ways with no change. So back it went. Let Samsung sell. This I know imagine you trying to sell it to the next person, what do you think they might say and how much will the value go down?

Yes, As soon as I opened the package, I noticed the bottom right hand corner was creaking an popping. It is not like I was looking for it. That made me investigate if the rest of the trim was doing the same. If you put your mind into into it, you can get some creaking from other ends of the trim but nothing like the bottom right hand corner. Every time I pick it up, it is annoying me so much that I feel I should take it back. I am not sure the guys at PCWorld would accept this as a reason for full money back or replacement claim. I do like the tablet, but do not want a noisy plastic in my hands.
Is this enough of a reason to ask for a replacement?

Sadly I dont think it is (pure guess so dont take my word for it) BUT I can 100% say that your Tablet will have a little bit of lightbleed along the bottom and sides....this alone is a good enough reason for them to accept and exchange - Good luck.

Could you please elaborate on the light bleed issue. How do you determine if you have a light bleed and what is the significance of it.

Put screen britghness to 100% and open this http://www.net-tracker.net/android/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/black_bg_1024x768.png, make sure it covers the entire screen inc notifications part and then switch off your lights in your room and you will then see light bleed, Its nothing major and common on LCD'S but it is a valid reason for a return/exchange.
I had lightbleeding on my first note but I found it to be acceptable however on my 2nd tablet I found the bleeding to be excessive and off putting so I got a refund from John Lewis,
Anyways this thread should give you an idea too - best of luck :good: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2554094

same here
Got mine 2 weeks ago, and it sounds like a bowl of snap, crackel, and pop, sitting on bubble wrap.
If i look at it wrong, it makes noises. I might take it back and have them look at it... see if that warrants an exchange.
Sent from my freekin huge Note 10.1 ?

If your one is not creaking then this definitely should be a rightful exchange claim for all those unfortunate to pick up badly put together tablets.
I am even considering getting my money back and going the Apple way. Excellent build quality, and I know that because I got some for the kids.
yeah maybe idk. Sammy is also known for build issues lately so you have to really inspect before you take home. The Note 3 home button is all wonky and wobbly on a lot of units.

Sorry for the question, but what is "idk" in your post?
Having a creaking case, would that get worse in terms of speading all around the tablet's trim?
Any experiences but no guesses please!

"IDK" means "I Dont Know".
I guess if the creaking was coming from say a loose glass to the digitizer i think it could be something that spreads. Since if the glass isn't glued down well enough i could see slight dust getting in there and causing more separation over time. I doubt this is the case as you'd see bubbling at the edges if that was happening.
