Has anyone noticed on low brightness and a grey or white screen you can see the stock.keyboard outline? Is this common or should I get a replacement?

I've got that too! Doesn't bother me too much though!
Yeah, the bottom half of my screen also is getting a slight discoloration at lower brightness levels. It's just the way these screens work - if you get a replacement the new one will eventually do it as well over time. I've resorted to minimizing the keyboard off the screen as much as possible when I'm reading text messages or whatever app it may be.
Will the One X or the S3 suffer from burn in? I had that problem with the SGS2. I was hoping it wouldn't happen to this phone. I haven't noticed any burn in yet.
I've noticed it as well. Never saw burn in on my epic 4g (sgs1). So I found it as a shock seeing it on this screen. It fades slowly but I fear when it will never go away.

Are you sure it really is a burn-in per definition?
You know what, read this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22792659&postcount=13
Excellent explanation by chopper the dog who says it's not a burn in.
I have noticed I have a burn-in area where the status bar is. Is there anyway to get sprint to offer me a new one or the possibility of a different phone. I don't have insurance.

thanks for the tip... i have no issues whit my screen but i've tried this app just to see...
Do you know how long (time) is necessary to create burn in effects on OLED's? i've read that on LCD (modern ones) its good to refresh the entire screen every 2 hours (if you use a static image of course) but i cant find any info on Oled tech...
I have had mine less than a week and there is one area that slightly darker than the rest in a line about one pixel wide. There are bunch of individial pixels with the same darkness also. Is this going to be worth a trade in? I'm not sure if it will get worse over time or not.
Hi
I am in this situation where my screen has a lot of white lines. Check the photo.
Should I replace screen, glass and digitaliser?
Thanks

I have exactly the same.
I guess its mostly wear of the AMOLED screen (but i have no explanation on why the lines run all the way across the screen).
So i guess its fine as it is (and i suppose in the end all Galaxy Nexus devices look linke this).
Unless you think its highly annoying and dont mind spending money on an ageing device...

My phone had this right after few months. Friend's S2 after 2 years.
First say hats off to Samsung. Their 1st generation HD AMOLED life expectancy is crap.
I think you gotta replace the screen. But chances of it happening again is quite high as the AMOLED ages. And like I said the AMOLED panels on our phone plainly suck.

So I had my Nexus 7 2013 for about 1.5 years. It was not until now, that I realized that there is a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. It is really noticeable in dark backgrounds, such as black. The screen just displays a giant red dot, very obtrusive. Since my warranty from Asus has expired, I was wondering if anyone knew how I can go about resolving this?

The information is a bit less to work out with. Do you have ghost touches or unresponsive screen in the middle or just dead pixels ? Add some more details and quote me back for a reply!
If you live in US, i have had from many people who delivered their nexus to asus and they replaced the screen for free actually. So give it a try.
Good Luck!

Hi,
The tablet still functions fine. Touchscreen and all works perfect. It is just dead pixels which show in the middle of the screen. I do not live in the U.S., so I am not sure how I can go about repairs.

I am afraid that is a hardware issue. I remember I got my nexus tablet in the UK from US on August 2 or 3. I had a bit of a defected piece. I wrote to ASUS UK and they replaced it for me and helped me fix it. Maybe you can write down to ASUS in your region and see what do they say and quote me back about it ?
So looks like my pixel XLs screen has uneven white tones. There is a slight pink tinge on the left side that you can see when the Night Light mode is on. Or any dark grey backgrounds. And white is warmer on the right than the left. Do you guys think this will go away or should I just exchange it? That's the only thing I find defective. Besides that, an awesome phone.

Unfortunately colour shift is a well know amoled screen issue. Some phones have it more than others, its just a lottery on the type of display you get.
You could see if they will let you exchange for one and hopefully get a better screen.
I have couple of S7 Edge and had a one plus 3, those didn't have any issues. My Nexus 6P had it the worse and got it exchanged couple of times till I got the right one. I might have to do this for the pixel. Sigh... Hate that about AMOLED

I went through 6 samsung s6's because of this. my note 5 and 7 were perfect.
At the price we paid i would exchange it until its near perfect.

If it bothers you, exchange it. Samsung has gotten better this year - both my Note7's had ZERO color shift on white which was a first for me. So far my Pixel XL looks pretty great, but I haven't tried looking too hard to see if it is a problem.

Samsung phones don't if you have the profile set to dynamic or whatever it is, it's the mode that over saturates everything. If you put it to natural then it's the same as the pixel.

OP's thread title refers to white balance which would mean color calibration/profiles, but the content of his post is actually a problem with screen uniformity. Changing the color calibration is not going to do anything if his panel is not uniform in displayed color.
Bottom half of my screen is super pink. Top half and bottom half of screen are very different colors on white and gray screens. Used the support option in the settings menu. Will have a replacement coming in tomorrow.
I went through 3 6Ps until I got an even screen, they all had tints to varying degree but the last one I got was fine.
I'm going to get mine exchanged.

Mine has is but honestly I have noticed it to a certain extent on every device I've had that had an amoled display (I have never owned a note or GS7 so I can't comment on them) but yeah, I noticed it right away. Mine is on the top half of the screen. I'm not sure if I'm going to end up exchanging it or not because I'm sure the next one will have it to an extent too and having them hold close to a G for every exchange really would suck. lol
I think some people notice more than other people. I know I notice it on other devices when the owner never does. I had a 6p that was really bad exchanged it and got one much better. I remember one dude exchanging his like 8 times and he said every single one had it.
Note: The title of this thread sound be changed to "pinkish hue" or "pink tint" or something like that

Yeah I definitely notice them. I went through couple of Nexus 6P before I got good one. The galaxy S7 screens are basically perfect. Probably higher quality panels.

Let us know how the replacement is. I'm debating exchanging mine but need to pay off my CC a little first before I have enough to cover a hold for a replacement.

Replacement arrived today. So far seems perfect. Brand new and screen is much better. No pink tones and white balance is perfect. Very glad I did a replacement now.
Setting up was so easy. Just plugged 2 phones together and it copied everything over to the new one.

Mine as well! I ordered it today and just got shipping notification. I'll post an update when I get mine. Hope I'm as lucky as NightHawk with my replacement
Interesting. I called support today because my screen fades from white on the bottom to a creamy white at the top. This is with brightness at halfway. If it's at 100% I don't notice it, however it's way too bright to look at. Anyway, Google told me it was within standards and not replaceable.

I would call back immediately. That is not within standard and should be replaced. I would be furious if I got that response.

They said if it's not noticeable within the top 1/3 of the brightness slider then its within spec. Honestly, it's probably something nobody else would notice, it's that slight. I wish there was some type of way to measure the white scale to prove I'm not crazy.

They told me the same thing. I saw it more at 1/3 brightness. I notice it less at full brightness but I still notice it
