OK3 Firmware on SGH-M919 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

I see a lot of things on how to root for other firmware, but not this one. Does anyone know if the other methods described will work so I can flash TWRP and do some custom firmwares on to this device?
Thanks

Am using ok3.. CF should have root for this... Check in his site

What did you use to root it when you were on OK3?
I only see things for NH7. Can I ODIN NH7 on to my device without bricking it?

I used chainfire root I.e. CFRoot

Is OK3 newer than NH7? If not, I may just ODIN NH7 on to the device. Then, just root from there.

Do you know if all of the 4.4.4 packages are swapable? Like, I could install NH7 because it is also 4.4.4? Or can you not downgrade? I know it hard to downgrade after accepting an upgrade to a higher version of android.

You just need to update your modem of OK3... There are tutorials on XDA to flash just modem...
OR
Take nandroid backup, Revert to stock, unroot, Carrier will send you the updates which will update your modem, put back your nandroid backup (bit of time consuming process)

With my knowledge there is different modems in different parts of USA
Sample
#1 bought in Missouri NH7
#2 bought in California OK3
And all are latest necessary for
CM based ROMs

Think of it this way..alphabetically N, then O, so O is more recent than N. It's usually best to have most recent bootloader/modem on your phone to give any ROM you flash the best shot to work well on your phone.

[Q] Rooting CLI5

I just upgraded from a samsung captivate to to the i747. I am familiar with the rooting process and flashing roms. However with this device I noticed I have CLI5 installed on it. I can find very little about this build. Can I root this with the standard methods? Or is this one I will have to wait on for a while. This is an AT&T phone.

I may have to try it, I'm afraid of borking my new phone, since this is a new enough release, know body has any info on if any current methods work. lol
You can flash CWM with ODIN and then flash SuperSU or Superuser. It will increase your download count but that can be fixed with Triangle Away from Chainfire.

The process does not install a kernel and when it is done, you'll be left with stock recovery with root.
You can flash cmw through odin and then SuperSU. It work for me.

More than likely because of this http://www.computerworld.com/s/arti...s_to_some_Samsung_Galaxy_devices?pageNumber=1
This indeed is the most recent update Rolled out by Samsung. It very well could be related to the flaw discovered. It is also likely meant to answer the signal issues some users have experienced with the last update. I have posted a little guide to Root this version.

After messing with this rom a bit and checking the MIUI forums. Whatsapp doesn't work. This rom is based on Slimkat and it's 4.4.2. You don't really need to install any other files other then the rom itself. I checked the updater script and it had something about N900T on it. Oh and the in latest version, SD card doesn't seem to work.

You can try it when an official API22 Xposed Installer apk and or API22 supporting method or released.
If you have the OB7 bootloader, you can go back for lollipop or KitKat Xposed. Otherwise wait for it.

no he's saying that if you have the OB7 bootloader you can always go back to a previous version of touchwiz that supports Xposed. (i.e. if you updated to 5.1.1 by flashing a zip, but not updating the bootloader to OG5)

Actually Galaxy Tools is a better indicator. On my phone with OG5 modem and Beastmode kernel and stock OB7 ROM with stock OB7 build.prop, the software version shows up as OG5, but build and Android version say OB7 and 5.0.1.
But since some developers edit the build field on build.prop, Galaxy Tools is more accurate regarding the bootloader.
