(D852)Cannot connect to cellular network. - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello,
I have installed a custom rom onto my lg g3 d852 model. But after many failed attempts to correct it, my phone will not stay conected to my mobile network. My phone is now running MM 6.0 on the koodo network. I believe that this problem may have started because of a setting I may have changed in the hidden menu.
Ive tried:
-downgrading back to LP
-Switching sim cards
-updating firmware
-checked the imei (still says its there)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I have found a temporary solution. I switched to HSPA only in network options, this got my phone connected back to the network at least for now. I would like to have access to all frequencies. Any suggestions?

Bump...

Which custom ROM did you install, and does the problem persist after a factory reset? If it's merely a setting you changed the restet will put it back to default. If it's a modem setting you changed in the hidden menu, a clean flash of the ROM will get you back to where you started.

I made a mistake, the rom is a stock rom MM of Koodo/Telus provider that I downloaded off of xda... I can link to the rom if necessary. I have factory reset several times and tried Fulmics LP and MM and this version I'm currently using getting the same results.

If I were in your shoes, I'd do one of two things. First, I'd try the nand back I made when I got the phone, before I'd flashed anything. If you don't have a good back up, one that includes the efs, modem and bootloader, then you need to revert to stock using the factory kdz image. There's a tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089

I shall give this tutorial a try. Thanks.

[CDMA] Can't Activate Phone

So I recently attempted to flash CM10 to my phone and I think it royally screwed everything up. After messing around with JB for a bit (no working data) I decided to flash back to stock and stay there for a bit. Well, once the flashing was done, I attempted to activate my phone, and it kept failing. Tried re-flashing just to be safe, and it failed again.
I then tried restoring from a nandroid I had, hoping it would restore service like it normally does. But it didn't. It showed my phone as unactivated. I was still unable to activate my phone. D:
I looked in About Phone > Status and my MDN and MIN were screwed up. My phone number displayed as "000-000-5472" and the MIN was all 0's. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.
Might Help
I also did the same thing a while back when i tried out the UK Firmware and when i flashed back with the stock Verizon firmware it erased my phone number and a lot of other stuff but here is a link from a while back explaining how to change your phone number back it worked for me but i never got my 3G working right some info will be different I have the C Spire R800x.

Good Luck
U need to flash the baseband to stock baseband as well as the firmware, and re activate your phone
Happen to me when i flash new baseband and kernel to my R800x
Can't activate since the prl was not loaded properly and i can't get through activation process (ics glitch)
End up flashing to stock, re-inject and activate. Then restore the new ROM via nandroid. This way the phone stay in activated state.
Sent from my R800x using xda app-developers app
When you flash a baseband before installing a rom, activate your phone on the stock firmware first, then install the rom. Same happened to me but I couldn't see the numberpad.

[Q] Connection Issue with Mobile Data - Modem Problem

I've run into a bit of a pickle with my root attempt on one of my LG G3s. The first went without a hitch while the 2nd didn't go so well. In order to flash CM12, I followed the LG G3 stock flash guide from hyleton to downgrade from Lollipop to 4.4.2. I then flashed CM12 with TWRP and hit a snag where the mobile data connection would try to establish, and the phone would black screen requiring me to pull the battery. The only way to get passed the CM12 setup would be to boot without the TMO SIM card.
Because I considered this a failed port, I flashed back to stock 4.4.2 but can't connect to the TMO mobile data network, but I am successfully able to get passed initial setup with the SIM Card in. IMEI and mobile number are still registered to the device, so at this point I'm assuming the issue is with a bad modem flash that occurred when I went back to stock 4.4.2. When I check the baseband version, the number/letter combo is quite large and doesn't seem to match with your typical Baseband versions, hence why I think I have a corrupt modem.
I can't find any modem software packages out there for the US TMO LG G3 variant, so was hoping someone could point me in the right direction or otherwise help provide some guidance on how to get my data connection back.
Hey,
I've got the exact same problem. Did you manage to repair it?
Thanks.
C.
You could try asking for a modem package for your variant here on the forums, otherwise you could try a custom ROM and wiping everything even the modem before flashing, most ROMs come with a modem built in.

Cannot restore data service after upgrade

Been running Jasmine6 for a bit now and really enjoyed it. No issues.
As I was looking to free up some space, I mistakenly restored my 10b backup and that's where my hell began.
I can no longer access the web from my phone. I've KDZ'd back to 10b, rooted, upgraded to several versions of Jasmine7, SD, I've even gone from 10b to 12b to 23C.
None of thse optons have restored my access to web. I've manually input the correct APN settings each time, but I get no traffic arrows when I do.
I'm using NET10 on my VS985 and have been using this with no issues since I got the phone almost a year ago.
Now I'm really stuck. I've tried upgrading modem/kernel. I've tried the Jasmine7/SD kernel combo, back to stock, nothing helps.
It's been a week of diligent searches. I also know there's a thread about this exact issue, but the thread is more how to avoid it, not what to do if you went gun-jumping. All this began when I installed Jasmine 7 (after proper wipe, etc)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's been quite the arduous task

Try reflash with .tot method, kdzs doesn't flash all partitions ...
Tot 10b. Issue remains. Put correct APN. "Network status: disconnected"
Thanks for the suggestion though. Please keep theories coming

Could it be baseband? I'm getting cellular service. Just lacking data provisioning
did you update PRL?

Loss of Data - No Sim Message

Good Morning Everyone,
I encountered a very weird issue last night after updating my table to 5.1.1 official. For the longest time, I was running the AOSP rom for 605 on my 607T. I was able to access Data and Wifi with no issues.
Last night, I rebooted to twrp, wiped my system and cache and internal storage.
Through Odin 3.07 - I flashed the factory firmware for 5.1.1.
Phone booted up and told me there was no Sim and would not allow the wifi option to be turned on because there was no sim. I thought this was strange as I have used it before on wifi when there actually was no sim card present. I pulled the sim out and put it back in - voila, i have wifi again. My Data connection kept the X through the bars though. I figured it must be something with the APN. I go to the APN Section and get a messages that this user (verified im set as the owner and only user) is not authorized to view APNs. I figured I would just create a new one - which I did and saved it. It would not even show the new one I made.
I ran into a similar lack of Sim visibility before when I first flashed 4.4.4 after running on an AOSP rom. I ended up flashing back to AOSP.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Reflash and try again, there was some mention of Data/Wifi errors. Also was the factory firmware for the 605 or the 607T? If 605 just flash the 607T firmware and you should be fine.

I flashed factory firmware for the 607T.
Going to try and reflash this afternoon when I get home from work and will follow up.
LOL I just read through the 605 thread -

Looks like if you come from a custom rom - a double flash is required period. Glad I didn't actually set up my device last night.
Figured I would update for anyone who runs into this. Reflash did not work. Wiped everything and flashed a third time - no dice. I flashed back to 4.4.2 original factory image and used smart switch to upgrade back to 5.1.1

Official 5.1.1 for T-Mobile (607t) issues

So I've having a bit of an issue with my 607t and I recall seeing some of the issues before. I was rooted before and on a custom 5.1.1 for a 605. Everything worked except it would sometimes boot back to recovery after power down. (known issue)
So today I went ahead and downloaded the official 5.1.1 and used Odin to flash back to stock. I'm not having any OS issues but am having a problem with wi-fi and the LTE radio. Wondering if anyone else has seen this and what was your fix?
1) The wi-fi will not remember passwords after a reboot.
2) After the update the unit is telling me that no SIM card is installed. Verified SIM is good on another device and tried a different SIM in the Note with same results.
Have flashed via ODIN again, factory reset a few times, remove/install SIM and the problems persist. I'm thinking there must be something from the 605 kernel that the ODIN flash isn't fixing.
Would appreciate any tips. - Thanks!!!!
You have to update the bootloader. There's a check-box in Odin for that.

That was the ONE thing I didn't do. And it worked.
That box was always greyed out when I loaded the file and didn't notice after the file processed that it was an available option.
Thanks!!!!
