Official 5.1.1 for T-Mobile (607t) issues - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

So I've having a bit of an issue with my 607t and I recall seeing some of the issues before. I was rooted before and on a custom 5.1.1 for a 605. Everything worked except it would sometimes boot back to recovery after power down. (known issue)
So today I went ahead and downloaded the official 5.1.1 and used Odin to flash back to stock. I'm not having any OS issues but am having a problem with wi-fi and the LTE radio. Wondering if anyone else has seen this and what was your fix?
1) The wi-fi will not remember passwords after a reboot.
2) After the update the unit is telling me that no SIM card is installed. Verified SIM is good on another device and tried a different SIM in the Note with same results.
Have flashed via ODIN again, factory reset a few times, remove/install SIM and the problems persist. I'm thinking there must be something from the 605 kernel that the ODIN flash isn't fixing.
Would appreciate any tips. - Thanks!!!!

You have to update the bootloader. There's a check-box in Odin for that.

That was the ONE thing I didn't do. And it worked.
That box was always greyed out when I loaded the file and didn't notice after the file processed that it was an available option.
Thanks!!!!

8.4 Tab S Forgets WiFi Networks On Reboot

I'm on stock, rooted odex. I believe the issue happened after I rooted. On boot, it forgets all previously connected WiFi networks. The only mods I've flashed was the 4-way boot (which didn't work since I have CWM and not TWRP). I've tried deleting the dhcp files in the dhcp folder and the wpa files in the etc/wifi folder. Neither worked.
Anyone else having this issue?
Edit: Factory wipe didn't rectify the issue. Guess I'll ODIN back to stock. Hopefully this is a hardware issue.
Strange.....mine works fine, rebooted numerous times.

Figured out the issue. I mistakenly flashed the T800 autoroot instead of the T700 autoroot.
Hi
I am stepping in on this thread, because I encounter this issue.
I just rooted by Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (LTE) - T705 and I followed this site http://theunlockr.com/2014/08/09/how-to-root-the-samsung-galaxy-tab-s-8-4-lte/, used as instructed CF_AutoRoot_Port_T700_BeansTown106.tar with Odin3 v1.85 .
- when rebooted the wifi forgets the password, (as long as you dont reboot the wifi is okay, and i can connect to other network and connect back to the original wifi.)
Do anybody knows how to fix this issue?

I think you have to change some sort of file to something to make it remeber it. I cant remeber what the fix was but it was somewhere in the cfautoroot fourm.

HI,
Consider also using Skyhigh Kernel, it fixes your issue.

My nonrooted Tab S forgets WiFi on reboot and when I switch WiFi off and then on.
I found that this probably is a KitKat bug (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2685519)
If you are rooted then this is what fixed it for me.

Unfortunately I have no root, so I flashed the newest firmware (T705XXU1ANH1 – XEH from France) and it fixed Wi-Fi
So, I using mine tab with and 6 on the latest image from Brazil.
It is rooted and with TWRP.
It doesn't save wifi networks. If I turn wifi on and of it looses everything.
Just to be clear, it had this problem before I installed TWRP. It took me quite some time to notice the problem so I don't know if it is related with the root method.
I even flashed a custom kernel, but still no luck.
Does any one know of a solution for this issue on Android 6? Stok?
Thanks

Loss of Data - No Sim Message

Good Morning Everyone,
I encountered a very weird issue last night after updating my table to 5.1.1 official. For the longest time, I was running the AOSP rom for 605 on my 607T. I was able to access Data and Wifi with no issues.
Last night, I rebooted to twrp, wiped my system and cache and internal storage.
Through Odin 3.07 - I flashed the factory firmware for 5.1.1.
Phone booted up and told me there was no Sim and would not allow the wifi option to be turned on because there was no sim. I thought this was strange as I have used it before on wifi when there actually was no sim card present. I pulled the sim out and put it back in - voila, i have wifi again. My Data connection kept the X through the bars though. I figured it must be something with the APN. I go to the APN Section and get a messages that this user (verified im set as the owner and only user) is not authorized to view APNs. I figured I would just create a new one - which I did and saved it. It would not even show the new one I made.
I ran into a similar lack of Sim visibility before when I first flashed 4.4.4 after running on an AOSP rom. I ended up flashing back to AOSP.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Reflash and try again, there was some mention of Data/Wifi errors. Also was the factory firmware for the 605 or the 607T? If 605 just flash the 607T firmware and you should be fine.

I flashed factory firmware for the 607T.
Going to try and reflash this afternoon when I get home from work and will follow up.
LOL I just read through the 605 thread -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63147588&postcount=75
Looks like if you come from a custom rom - a double flash is required period. Glad I didn't actually set up my device last night.
Figured I would update for anyone who runs into this. Reflash did not work. Wiped everything and flashed a third time - no dice. I flashed back to 4.4.2 original factory image and used smart switch to upgrade back to 5.1.1

hello,
I have installed a custom rom onto my lg g3 d852 model. But after many failed attempts to correct it, my phone will not stay conected to my mobile network. My phone is now running MM 6.0 on the koodo network. I believe that this problem may have started because of a setting I may have changed in the hidden menu.
Ive tried:
-downgrading back to LP
-Switching sim cards
-updating firmware
-checked the imei (still says its there)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I have found a temporary solution. I switched to HSPA only in network options, this got my phone connected back to the network at least for now. I would like to have access to all frequencies. Any suggestions?
Bump...
Which custom ROM did you install, and does the problem persist after a factory reset? If it's merely a setting you changed the restet will put it back to default. If it's a modem setting you changed in the hidden menu, a clean flash of the ROM will get you back to where you started.

I made a mistake, the rom is a stock rom MM of Koodo/Telus provider that I downloaded off of xda... I can link to the rom if necessary. I have factory reset several times and tried Fulmics LP and MM and this version I'm currently using getting the same results.
If I were in your shoes, I'd do one of two things. First, I'd try the nand back I made when I got the phone, before I'd flashed anything. If you don't have a good back up, one that includes the efs, modem and bootloader, then you need to revert to stock using the factory kdz image. There's a tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
I shall give this tutorial a try. Thanks.

Elephone p8000. I think i messed up bad.

Ok so i got the phone is stock form with android 5.1 and a few bugs common to this phone( screen flicker and poor wifi speed). I read more than a few forum posts that said flashing the rom to various other roms would fix it and this wasn't my first modded phone so i did. I am not too sure these flashes took as android looked and acted the same as well as had some of the elephone software. It did however screw up the phones imei. after a google search i reset the imei. I no longer have the invalid imei message but now i have a big NO SERVICE message. This is the us market phone. I really hope you cant somehow change the frequncy bands by flashing the rom. any help would be awesome.
Ps. the screen still flashes.
edit: ok tookjfer671's advice and flashed the us rom. it killed the imei (again) so i reset the imei. now somehow the imei numbers got on the wrong sim cards. They are backwards. will this affect anything ? they wont reset at all.
Edit 2 I guess you can mark this one as solved. The reflash with the us ROM worked but the backlight still flickers. Not a launcher issue the entire screen goes dark and its random.

Yup, I believe the US version B doesn't have any other alternative custom roms to flash...although you can root. Version A (Asia/Europe) regions have a whole lot of roms to choose from...it would've been nice if we could flash those as well and keep the baseband out of it so we don't lose network connections.
Anyways...I flashed as well a version A rom and found myself with a no connection to my network (everything else worked fine), flashed the link above and got device back to full working order. Hope it helps you out.

i'll give it one more shot. btw did you use flashtools or recovery?
Sorry for late reply...I was rooted with the A version and on TWRP recovery, flashed stock recovery then flashed B version and now on CWM recovery. All using flashtools.

WiFi will not turn on...

Hi. I have a Sprint Samsung Note 4. I was getting a screen overlay error and decided now would be the time to change the ROM on the Note.
I followed the steps from "How to Install CyanogenMod on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Sprint ("trltespr")"
After I installed the first ROM, which was the latest nightly, and booted it up, I noticed that the WIFI says "Turning on" but doesn't ever turn on. It's greyed out in settings as well. I tried a few different nightly's thinking it was a defective file or bad install. Still no fix.
So then I went http://www.grantbarker.com/samsung-galaxy-note-4.html to try different roms, and I get the exact same issue.
Now I'm thinking that there is something I'm missing that the original ROM had. And for some reason the backup I made from it is missing, so I can't go back to it either. Is there a way to fix the wifi? It kind of sucks without it. Thanks for any advice that could help.
Were you on Marshmallow or Lollipop stock? Sounds like you have the wrong bootloader and that may be the reason. You would either have to flash the recommended stock tar or bootloader or bootloader and baseband.
I don't keep up with CM but the thing to check for is recommended bootloader in OP or search the thread. You may find it necessary to flash OK1 or OG5 bootloader. Dunno, maybe check for the baseband too for CM.
There's a bootloader and baseband thread in the development forum for Sprint Note 4. You should find what you need to flash in Odin AP mode. The ones labeled firmware are bootloaders.

You could probably try reverting to the factory settings and checking if the WiFi works? And then, you could change it to the current ROM again. This might help you resolve the WiFi issue.
