Rooting LG G4/Download mode/Firmware update - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have LG G4 LH815L and I would like to Root it, I found a guide in this forum how to do so.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/g...-root-t3180586
I followed the Instructions but when i tried to go into "Download Mode" it sent me to "Firmware Update"
and the percentage didn't move it just like the screen freezed when i look at the Internet
what should i do?
i found that i need to download the software "LG Flash Tools" i searched for my KDZ files and started using it.
but everytime i am using it it doesn't work its says "Disconnect the phone from PC and remove the battery from the phone.... insert battery... Turn on the phone... and try again. I tried this for few time and nothing always the same, it doing 9% and pup up again.
So guys what should i do?
maybe my KDZ files are not the correct one?
or what i am doing worng?
Is there an easier way to root?
Thanks everyone,

G3 stucks in Download Mode

Hello Community,
Yesterday my G3 stucked in a Bootloop without changing anything. Than I wanted to repair it with the LG PC Suite. This failed with the message "Assert" multiple times. Now it stucks in the download mode. Can I repair it? More important are the files on the G3. Is there a way to get them?

Try this:
1) Remove battery
2) Hold down the power button for 30 seconds with the battery out
3) re-insert battery
4) Try turning it on again.
If that doesn't work, do a hard reset. You can find multiple posts on how to do it. Hope this helped!
Maybe I can help somebody with the same problem. I solved the problem with the following steps:
I setted up a new Windows 7 x64 PC. It must be Windows 7!!! No Windows 8 or other shiny things.
Installed the driver
Flashed a compleltely new firmware (.tot) over the old (!) FlashTool.
Hi guys. First, sorry my poor english. I'm Brazilian.
I make a firmware upgrade from LG PC Suite, 4.4 KK to 5.0 L. Problem is, the upgrade failed, and now my LG G3 are stuck in download mode. I try make this upgrade from LG Flash Tool but the problem persists, 65% appears in the screen of LG G3 a message "ASSERT" and reboot to download mode screen. Help, please?

Although I have never come across this, using this site to download the right KDZ and using this thread to flash that KDZ may solve your problems. There is no harm done in trying this and you can be sure that it is the right file.
LG G3 Boot problems after download mode
Hello!
Sorry revive the topic but it was the only one who found a similar problem, after searching lot on google.
I have a LG G3 D855P. Yesterday he went out and restarted many times, but worked for a short time.
I can use the BoardDiag, but when I restore the D855P20C_00.kdz .kdz, to reach 36%, the cell phone goes off and does not return. I need to take the battery cable, so that it returns to the download screen, but still, to get 36% he goes again. Have made sure that the .kdz file works properly.
I followed the tutorial presented in this video.

Stuck at the download mode on my LG G3 F400L

Hey everyone. I hope all of you are fine. I was playing with my phone, rooted and installed twrp correctly. After that I thought of installing cloudy G3 2.5. For this, unfortunately I didn't watch any tutorial. I just simply placed the zip file in the device (not in any folder) and rebooted in recovery mode. There, I tapped Install and located the zip file. The process started. Everything was going fine. But when the process finished, it gave an error msg (don't remember exactly what it said). After that whenever I tried to reboot the phone, it kept on saying "kernel crashed", " press up for dload and down to reboot".
When I tried to flash it using LG flash tool, the download menu changed to English (previously Korean). And when I tried to flash the stock firmware for LG G3 F400L using LG Flash Tool, it gave an error of wrong device model (saying, cloudy g3 2.5 D855). Then I tried to flash D855 European ROM but the same error persisted. From now on, every time I connect a USB cable to my device or even try to turn it on, it automatically opens that Download Mode (English).
Kindly help me...
A sincere thanks for reading this.
Have a good day.
oh my this is also happening to me now, problem is i just stuck in the small box stating download mode but reboot then never been to the download mode instaed

Full unroot got me stuck

Hello, I wanted to unroot my phone from SuperSU, using the Fully unroot thingy that it has. After letting it be for awhile i realized it was just only at the bootup screen where the LG logo is and blue light was slowly blinking. Now I've tried LG flash tool to get me back to factory settings and I've tried different .kdz files, none of them seems to work. Furthest I got: I saw the firmware's name on my phone screen for a few seconds and then it dissappeared. Always LG Flash Tool fails after 9% and it says "Upgrade stopped due to an error." I have no idea what to do anymore with my phone. Any help is appreciated! Computer only recognises my phone when it's in firmware update mode.
Use LG UP...

Question: Completely Dead Phone - What should I do ?

I have G3 D855 16G.
I was stuck on a bootlop and tried to install a kdz rom with Lg Flash tool. I succeded once then phone was bricked again. I used recovery with Imei from LG and failed to recover the software. Now when i try to flash a KDZ it stops at 4% and when I try to flash with Imei recovery it says that I dont have battery. Battery is charged 100% with an external charger. I tried also the .tot method and fails saying "model information check fail" even I have all correct files. Tried with Lg pc suite also, no luck. In Lg Up tool it says model unkown. The phone is not detected in adb but I have all drivers and appears in device manager. Phone does not boot up or in recovery or else. Sometimes i see led light blinking red after i remove the battery for a longer period of time and then try to turn it on. What else should I do ?

Delete this thread and create another one in "G3 Q&A, HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING" or ask mods to move.
Its a hardware problem just heat cpu or use paper trick which is used for screen fix
Its a hardware problem just heat cpu or use jscreen flickering paper trick then try flashing
Try a diffrent battery
Gesendet von meinem LG-D855 mit Tapatalk
keep trying i had the same problem, i fact i have prob had every problem there is for the phone
just try different ports, try lg support tool, try changing the port to COM41
believe me your problem is not the worst case scenario

change your battery with an orginal one. then open back of phone and check te model written on right side of mother board. if it's not d855 then flash writed model's kdz
1.. Make sure you have really D855 model first.
2.. To use ToT method, your phone must be on" hs-usb qdloader 9008" mode.
If you can power on its 100 percent fixable. Bootloops are soft bricks not hard bricks. Make sure you have the right phone and the right kdz and use the LG flash tool or the kdz flasher from the factory. Go through the extensive thread in the help section. There is a large thread covering brick recovery and that's going to be more help than posting a new thread. Everyone will just direct you to the existing one. Good luck! I've done a lot of these brick recoveries and the thread in help section is great.

LG G4 Stuck In Firmware Update - Stock Reset?

Hi, recently decided to reset my phone back to stock as I had some trouble with a few programs after resetting my phone. I tried factory reset but the programs didn't work so I decided I would try to just restore to stock and start fresh. I followed a guide on how to do the stock restore using LGUP/LG Flash Tool. I followed the guide and put the KDZ File into the program and pressed cse flash. The program worked till around 12% then it got stuck and just didn't work anymore. It said error so I kept trying over and over as some guides on this problem said to keep trying.
Nothing has happened and my phone is now stuck on firmware update screen. I have taken the battery out multiple times and replaced it back in and turned the phone on but it automatically goes to that screen after showing the lg logo. I have tried the volume down and power button factory reset but that doesn't work and tried getting onto download screen if that was any help but couldn't do that either. Now I'm stuck here... Any help? Don't have any other phone and can't afford to get a new one so I would like to try fix this anyway possible.
After failing the flash update thing the program says failed my phone says 0%. It went to 1% once and then just went back to 0% after it didn't work. So don't know if it's been changed in anyway. All help appreciated.

I did refurbish first as I wanted to start new and it didn't work even though I did it a few times. I tried upgrade after and still nothing. Also have tried Uppercut and that does the same as normal LGUP.
The furthest % it got to was 19 on the computer and 8 on the phone and then it just stopped again. It usually stays between 11-19%. But most of the time 11%-16%
Have you made sure that it is the right region......
Try to down load just tot file and try that....
