G3 stucks in Download Mode - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Community,
Yesterday my G3 stucked in a Bootloop without changing anything. Than I wanted to repair it with the LG PC Suite. This failed with the message "Assert" multiple times. Now it stucks in the download mode. Can I repair it? More important are the files on the G3. Is there a way to get them?

Try this:
1) Remove battery
2) Hold down the power button for 30 seconds with the battery out
3) re-insert battery
4) Try turning it on again.
If that doesn't work, do a hard reset. You can find multiple posts on how to do it. Hope this helped!

Maybe I can help somebody with the same problem. I solved the problem with the following steps:
I setted up a new Windows 7 x64 PC. It must be Windows 7!!! No Windows 8 or other shiny things.
Installed the driver
Flashed a compleltely new firmware (.tot) over the old (!) FlashTool.

Hi guys. First, sorry my poor english. I'm Brazilian.
I make a firmware upgrade from LG PC Suite, 4.4 KK to 5.0 L. Problem is, the upgrade failed, and now my LG G3 are stuck in download mode. I try make this upgrade from LG Flash Tool but the problem persists, 65% appears in the screen of LG G3 a message "ASSERT" and reboot to download mode screen. Help, please?

Although I have never come across this, using this site to download the right KDZ and using this thread to flash that KDZ may solve your problems. There is no harm done in trying this and you can be sure that it is the right file.

LG G3 Boot problems after download mode
Hello!
Sorry revive the topic but it was the only one who found a similar problem, after searching lot on google.
I have a LG G3 D855P. Yesterday he went out and restarted many times, but worked for a short time.
I can use the BoardDiag, but when I restore the D855P20C_00.kdz .kdz, to reach 36%, the cell phone goes off and does not return. I need to take the battery cable, so that it returns to the download screen, but still, to get 36% he goes again. Have made sure that the .kdz file works properly.
I followed the tutorial presented in this video.

Bootloop after Xposed install, Hard Reset not working

Hi there,
i rooted my G3 using Towelroot and all worked fine.
Today i installed the actual Version Xposed Framework and after rebooting it entered a Bootloop.
So i tried to Hard Reset my G3 but when i confirm it the Android with the Gaers show up for a second and then my G3 keeps showing the LG Logo for a few Minutes till i disassamble the Battery.
Next step i try is to flash a firmware in Download mode, but i cant get the Drivers to work... =(
Someone have some hints for me?

Have you choosen ART modality?
If i would say "what the hell is that" ... would u slap me?
No.. i dont have chosen that..
Bigger problem is that i dont get any usb driver working for firmware update in Download mode.. =(
OK... i managed to get the drivers working.
But further Problem ist now that im not able to flash anything on my device...
Neither the TOT Method, nor updating with the Original LG Support Tool is working...
Support Tool tells me my Model Number and that my Version is most actual.
If i update anyway it stucks at 4% and tell me it cant connect.
TOT Tool tells me that my Version Number is not correct... but it is..
With the KDZ Update Tool it stucks at 4% like the Original method.
Same problem here
Any one can help us?
Solution
Hi there,
the Problem was my PC...
I was on a Windows 8.1 64bit.
Switched to a Win7-PC and all is working fine.
You should try to use the Original LG cable, or another "Original" Cable and connect it to a USB-Port on the Back of your PC (directly to the Mainboard)
On a blank Win 7:
- I installed the LG PC Suite
- Updated the PC Suite
- Connected my LG in Download Mode
- Let the PC install all drivers,
- Disconnected the Phone
- Downloaded the actual LG Mobile Support Tool
- Let the Support tool do the work
After this i got my first OTA Update and its working like a charme

LG G2 D802 bricked - I read threads from XDA and still nothing :(

Hello,
can you please help me bring my LG G2 D802 back to life?
I had problems with GPS on LG G2 D802 4.4.2 so i tried to go to 4.2.2.I had some experiences with flashing from previous phones so I though I will be able to perform also this one.
I followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190.
I stopped on 61% on mobile and 53% on tool. Then i used official LG tool, to recovery, but it stopped on 31% or so. Then i used different FW - with this i could get on 100% mobile - but only 89% on LG flash tool. Then I download official LG firmware according IMEI, but unfortunatelly I was again not successful and was not able to get into download menu. When i connected my phone to PC, i got many pop up windows asking to format many various disk on phone.I was not able to get into recovery mode to perform HW reset.
So i decided to to use instructions from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 with help of mine who is Linux expert.
After this I again get only LG logo when i start phone, and im able to go to recovery mode. I also can start HW reset, but it is doing nothing, just showing: performing hw reset. When I connect phone to PC even that it is switched off (it looks like that) it starts and stop on LG logo, but PC cannot see it. Also it sems, it cannot be found under linux as well.
Please help me.
Thank you very much
Tomas
please help
hello, please anybody help me. Currently when i connect mobile to PC/Mac it is not recognized. Is there some way how to solve this?

more info is better than none, what did you do to "accidentally brick" your phone? and if you are stuck in download mode you could try the lg mobile support tool and re load the rom for your device.

READ completely, including the link in 4 before starting!!!
download the tool using the lg d851, under t-mobile. the tool is generic, and can be found at lg.com under support/downloads
1. install LG Mobile Support Tool
2. run Tool, it will query lg for updates and do so if needed.
3. Install USB Driver (dismiss if you have done so already)
4. follow this process: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51268802&postcount=21 (use 5. below to put into download mode, not vol up and down like the link states)
5. with your device off, hold the volume up button while plugging in your USB cable with the Tool open.
6 you system will recognize the device and configure drivers, this will take a minute.
7. continue following the link in 4.
I ran into the same problem and now i'm stuck in downloadmode!
Does this method work? Or is there any other fix yet?
Thanks in advance!

no i did not fix mine yet i am on tmobile am not sure if they will consider return am still within retun policy
hey guys, don't ask for a different fix if you don't bother to explain how your phone got stuck in download mode. as for does this work? Why don't you try, it's the same tool used to upgrade firmwares instead of using OTA, and the link included shows how to get the tool to download the file (if it sees the same/current f/w it does not download the firmware) and you have nothing to loose, and this method is often used to recover from "soft bricking" your phone.
i was restoring my LG G3 to stock through the lg flash tool .....when i got through with it and restore was succesfull. somehow i forget the usb cable plugged through my pc usb port ...then connected my lg g4 that is where the flash tool got my Lg g4 on Downloade mode ....i tried all the methodes somehow i think the recovery is messed up .....i can get to the recovery through the button but it reboot straight to the download mode ....thanks every one for their support

don't think it's out yet, however my statement was somewhat incoherent. I meant to say if he had the kdz, he could use the flash tool to recover his phone.

Yea, at this point there no way to fix this without a kdz that I know of.
Call LG and tell them you need the kdz to restore your G4.
i was lucky, i had flashed twrp before my phone soft brick..
Sent from my unlocked and rooted LG-H815
I got an LG G4 which is stuck on lg screen. When I put it in download mode, it shows download mode for a few seconds and restarts. I was trying to flash ZVB over ZVD and it ended up like this. Model is ls991 . Any help would be really appreciated!
Anyone got any idea? The whole thing started with getting rid of the Genisys rom ... I did not like it ... I thought I was going to bring it back to the stock, but then LG Up wrote an unkown device ... I thought it was flash with lg bridge ... that's what I lost. .. has removed recovery and has stopped updating at 16% ... since then it is only download mode I tried to update but failed with all three programs ... LG up to start - unkown device, LG bridge stop at 16% , LG Falsh Tool 9% ... sorry for my english

Boot loop problem

Hi !
I'm having a big problem right now. Few days ago, I tried to Root my phone everything was fine. The next day I wake up and go on my phone and there is a boot loop when I try to open it and it never ends. It's a loop at the LG life's good logo.
Few things I tried so far before coming here:
1) I tried all this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
When I do it with LG Flashtool 2014 it goes to 4% then it stops/crash.
When I try with LGFlashTool I get : Model Information: Check FAIL! (but I put the good model in the files)
2) I tried a hard-reset but when I do the hard-reset it goes back right away to the Boot loop.
3) I tried with LG PC Suite, but the it says Mobile Device not found so I can't get it to repair with LG PC Suite.
I don't know what to do anymore.
My phone is a LG G3 D852 (Canadian)
Hopefully you guys can help me out here. Thanks a lot
Well apparently doing it on another computer fixed the problem!
