[Q] Is hooking private static method possible? - Xposed Framework Development

Hi,
Is hooking of private static method possible in Lollipop? I'm trying but nothing works. No error, no exception... looks like findAndHookMethod is completely ignored...

Share internet from computer to phone via USB

Hello
I am in need of a way to get internet to my phone through the USB-cable from the computer. Is there any way to do this? In either linux or windows... I will be without wireless internet for some time and I would like to try to avoid big data fees on my phone while staying at home...
A little edit to hopefully simplify what I'm looking for: Reverse tethering
Hey there,
Also I am looking for the same thing. It was one of very little good properties of my old win.mobile phones.
Y think the new HD roms have it, try and flash this rom, did not tried but the option appears in settings, i used this one:

USB Ethernet adapter.

Just a heads up. I tried a Trendnet usb ethernet adapter and it works. Chipset is a AX88772. It's usually in a big blue box, but I pulled the guts out for a different project a while back and just thought I'd give it a try.
Pic of it working.
Great find, thanks!
thanks, I'll look into testing one out.

What the hell I tried the exact same adapter and it wouldn't work. Are you able to make static connections? With or without webtop?

Yep. I had my phone in airplane mode with wifi off on that pic. I've had a few issues with it though. If I break the internet connection and try to bring it back up it may or may not get a new dhcp address. Had to reboot to get it back, then something really broke in webtop and I had to reflash it back. I'd put my phone in the lapdock and it would start to load webtop, then start a boot loop until I pulled the phone from the dock.... All of this was so I could get this working. If you don't know what it is, here is the main page for it. Couldn't get the network redirection working, still need to read up on the docs some more.
Why didn't you just post in the
USB TO ETHERNET THREAD?
Was a new thread really that necessary?

[Q] Forcing/Spoofing a phone number on the KF?

Hi all,
Happy KF owner running a CM9 based ROM here. I have Verizon FIOS at home, and would like to be able to use my tablet to run the android FIOS Remote app, however it requires a phone number as part of the set up process. This being a tablet and not a phone, it doesn't recognize any sort of phone number defined. Is there a way I can spoof it into thinking it has a phone number of my choosing, or is that something that's just not possible on a non cellular device?
Thanks!
zeriho this
I'm pretty sure it isn't possible.

Dynamically Hooking Static Methods

I'm Hooking methods dynamically based off a entered class by the user and logging the results. But the problem I'm running into is that I can hook the static methods fine no problem and log the return value. But I have no way during the hook to get the static class name.
Normally I would use this in the hook to get the class name.
log(String.format("Class: %s", param.thisObject.getClass().getName() )
The problem comes in with Static Classes the object is always null, as it should. Is there anyway to either hold the information from when the hook is created and display the appropriate class even if there are multiple classes and methods?
Or is there a Xposed Helper that can get this information from within the hook even if the class is static?
Figured it out, Just looked at the Stack.

Any suggestions for a remote assistance that auto-starts, without port-forwarding?

I am sending my Fire TV oversea to my grandma and I need to be able to control it remotely in order to assist her.
The requirements are:
Must be able to auto start on boot.
Must be able to connect without port forwarding.
I must be able to connect without her consent. (I’m sure she’d get stuck in the beginning and I won’t even be able to guide her to click anything).
The IP thing shouldn't be an issue with NO-IP or something similar.
Ideally VNC would be the best bet due to its flexibility with CLI, but I’d have to have some sort of reverse connection going on which I’m not sure how I would go about that.
Also, I was having a bit of trouble getting any VNC daemons working properly.
Fire TV 1. Version: 5.2.1.2 (pre-rooted)
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!
