Hello everyone.
I'm on Marshmellow, not rooted, and I have a LocationServices wakelock. It is constantly running in the background and eating up my battery in spite of the GPS not being activated at all...
How can I track down the cause to the problem without having to root the device and void the warranty?
Worth mentioning that I sent the device to LG to fix it because I had the "Optimising Apps" bootloop, but I had this problem even before that...
Any help is appreciated!

[Q] What is "Unsupported headset notifier" and why it drain the battery so much?
Hi guys, I bought recently the Sony Xperia Ion and I am pretty happy about it. The only thing I would like to improve is the battery performance.
I monitored the processes/services using Elixir 2 and I found an abnormal CPU usage of a process called "Unsupported headset notifier".
It uses about 17-20% of my CPU and I suspect that influence a lot my battery drain.
Can you please explain me what is the purpose that process? Is it possible to kill or block or reduce its CPU usage?
Please, consider that I haven't roooted the phone yet and probably I will wait a couple of months before doing it.
Thank you in advance
This app lets you know if you plug a headset (earphones) into ur phone and headset is incompatible with our phone. This would be a system app so I don't think you can stop it or freeze it to test because u need root access. If u root your phone u can use an app like ROM toolkit to freeze it, and if our phone we is OK u can delete it. But to access these functions u need root access.
Sent from my Xperia S using xda app-developers app
Uninstalling 'Unsupported Headset Notifier'
In fact I noticed that too in my ACRO S and the Unsupported Headset Notifier consumed round 15-20% battery... I enabled root access and disabled the process, which failed, and had to uninstall it instead... guess what? The process stopped, BUT, another process replaced the same consumption. And now this time 'AudioEffectService' appeared with the same details. Uninstalled this one too, and a third process came in.... I restored them back and concluded that this is actually the Android system which was running but showing only part of the process involved.
Didnt see anything else happen.

The stock firmware is so buggy that the battery life is ruined. Install battery monitor and u'll find that even when the screen is locked, the phone wakes up for many many times. Plus most of the time the magnetometer is on , thus consuming extra battery.
I seriously hope 4.1 update will fix all this ****
Hello,
I have a Nexus 7 (2013) locked unrooted and stock 4.4 and I love the device (despite the touchscreen issues), after the kitkat update I noticed something; in the battery stats the GPS is always on (blue line all the way) even though it is disabled and no apps are using it. Until recently I had facebook messenger installed and it drained the battery like hell (it consumed more than 4hours of display on time) and it showed GPS to be the culprit, so I uninstalled it but the same thing is still happening, GPS is always showing to be on.
What could be the problem? I have experienced some serious battery drainage.
Thanksin advance for your invaluable help.
Hello XDA.
Since the Update to Lollipop my G3 has some serious problems. like Heating up as hell - especially when i play games like PvZ2 its getting rly darn hot - and shut down for overheat-reasons once.
But today i was chatting (FB Messenger) and my Phone decided to turn off complely.
It was impossible for me to switch it back on, even pulling out the Battery does not help.
When i connected the Power-Cable, it startet charching after 4-5min (starting @ 84% Charge) - and it was possible to turn it on.
Does anyone of you have a clue what problem this could be - some kind of technical defect?
Or is it just Software-Related?
Oh - Infos to the Device:
D855-32GB International/EU Model
SW-Version: V20f-EUR-XX

Hello Guys.
I own a Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100 which is running DN4 and OC to 1.7gHZ with no other mods. I was earlier running RR 5.2.9.
The problem I face is ever few days after I flash a new ROM or Update, my screen wakes up automatically every 5-10 seconds. I checked the MICRO USB charging port, blew in air and straightened the connector. The problem persisted. Changed ROM. Issue persisted.
However I have noticed Google Play Services has been draining the battery and has a very high wake time. I believe it is to blame since all other User Apps are greenified. When I say the "Screen wakes up" I mean that the screen comes on even if the phone was locked. This has become a major nuisance. What do I do?
Thanks in Advance.

Install wakelock detector bro and then get rid of apps that cause most wakelock.
Sometimes there are apps that ask permission for root and cause screen wakelock.

But the problem continues to persist. Would a logcat help?
Anyone knows what this qcom_rx_wakelock is?
Im currently on CB8 clean flashed it.
Battery drain too high due to this particular wakelock.
Anyone knows how to get rid of it?
It's a wakelock that often happens when you are connected to a large secured network like a university or company. The network itself is waking your phone up and keeping it in an active state even when you are not using your phone. I'm in the same situation as you on 3.2.8 and I have heard that the only way to stop it is by flashing elementalx which apparently is capable of blocking the wakelock. I think there are probably some fixes that whoever controls the internet network in your building could make but I have no clue how to go about that.
I made a post recently about this here but there isn't anything too helpful in it
