If it's the same dimensions as OEM battery it shouldn't be a problem. I know I had 1950 Mah battery in my old Evo 3d and it worked just fine. You got me interested with this, it's time to change my battery too. There are no phones that I like just now, and my trusty old M7 could get a nice present these days. Now, only thing to do is to figure out how to replace the damn thing [emoji23]

Exactly what I have been thinking, the only thing that matters in phone these days is battery life, and performance wise the m7 still rocks
I am going to watch and learn from youtube before buying anything xD

Because they dont actually have the capacity its probably much less.

That's true to some extent. Not all batteries on e-bay or Amazon, or wherever, are knockoffs. There are some that really do have specified capacity, and Polarcell has some very good reviews

Has anyone replaced their battery yet? I think i need to Replace mine.
I'm on my way to replace mine, but still waiting for the back housing to arrive. Could be a week, month, or three if the package gets lost on it's way from China. Front and middle housing + battery arrived in 2 weeks...
2800mAh BN07100 Phone Battery:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1900...49&btsid=badedaf4-da38-474d-96c1-ece48b6eb759
I'll measure old battery capacity and the new one (from empty to full charge) with this:
15V LCM USB Charger Doctor Voltage Current Meter Working Time Power Battery Capacity Tester:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/15V-...49&btsid=6b25b418-a85e-46ae-baae-72142ab54ae2
Don't actually know if the capacity measuring with this tells you anything?

Interesting!! I'm about to replace my battery aswell and now that I've seen this battery I'm going to wait and read your tests to decide whether to buy this 2800mAh one or the original.
Looking forward to read your news
So, I tested my original battery with this tester and it measured ~2300mAh, which seems accurate.
Still waiting for a part of the housing to perform surgery on my phone, but it is very cold now, so I'm afraid to start taking the phone apart
batter replacement
I just replaced my HTC one M7 battery and ear piece speaker. It's not as hard as many people said. It took about one and half hour. And I caused no damage to the read cover. You don't need a new rear cover.
I found the following two youtube instructions are extremely useful:
Best way open the back cover:

Detail tear down steps:

Good luck,

The housing is black but really scratched badly, it was my brothers and i can't be bothered to put on a case, there aren't very good ones because i can't press the power button properly. I have a small crack at the bottom right it's not too bad though.

I've bought new BST-41 Battery off ebay weeks ago.
He claim that they're "100% Original BST-41 New Sony Ericsson Battery X1 X-1 " and "From Sony Ericsson Singapore (NOT CHINA FAKE BATTERY)"
with the price of 17.99$ and free shipping so, I think I should give it a try.
As suspected, it is a fake, very neat fake I must say.

As you can see, they are almost identical.
Hologram reflects at ~30 degree. The fake hologram will elevated from label a little (like stick them on top), but the original will smooth across surface.
Hologram closeup. The fake one have more pixelation than the original.
Look at both SE logo and the word "SONY ERICSSON" around it.
Label closeup. Look at "Sony Ericsson" and "+" (positive), they will have some blur edge and not crisp.
Label closeup (lower part). The word "WNBTS" alignment off a little.
Back side. The fake one will have overlapping label.
Top side. You will notice that the battery shape is not identical, the fake one will have round edge, the original will have more square like edge. This is the easiest way to detect.
Another consideration is the "Moisture Sensor", the fake one will have "plain paper" instead of the moisture sensor (I have tried pouring water over it and the color won't change) and the size is larger too.
Bottom side. The original will have a hole (to depress pressure in case of exploding).
As of now, I've contacted the seller and ask him whether this is the original or not.
He replies "Yes it is original sony battery.. pls try to use it and by using it, u will know it is original."
What should I do?
File a dispute to Paypal? Contact SE to confirm it? Report the item to ebay?
I want to hear an opinion from you guys.
Thanks everyone who read this.
Kan
Man you have to take case in the matter... firstly report to ebay, and I think that ebay has the obligation to report to SE... do not contact the seller because ebay get throught there at the beginning, skip it and go right to open a case and report fake description, unsatisfied and sort of...
Firstly, what I have learned: "only dummies buy batteries on ebay"!
If you want the 'real' thing for sure, don't be cheap and go directly to a Sony Style Store and pay the price that this battery costs!
So, now: for me the 'original battery' that came with the phone looked fake to me from the beginning, I opened the X1 box the first time, anyways.
Second, I have a 09W23 model phone now and the battery looks now totally different if you compare with the 'old 2008'! It even states now 1450/1500 mAh!!! So looks and sounds now even 'faker'.
To Your case now, did you put it in the phone yet? I read somewhere that if one uses a 'fake' battery, the phone displays "Alien Battery" on the display. Not sure if this is the same with this.
At least for me, especially since the manufacture dates are different (the supposed fake one is later) if that is a fake, they did a pretty good job.
In order for ebay or paypal to do something (at least here in the U.S. of A.) you need to PROOF that this is a fake. And you can only do that by going to SE and have them confirm this is a fake! Then you can complain and file a report with ebay/paypal and get your money back. And hopefully learned your lesson and buy it direct at SE in the future!
In all my years of having SE phones, I never(!) found a real battery on ebay (unless somebody broke their phone and sold their battery!)! This is one thing one should not be: too cheap, and buy at the real place to get the real deal! (You say you paid 17.99... come on, the real thing runs for 59 or so! And you probably bought this from a user in Asia...somewhere....!)
By the way, I use the mugen power battery and compared to the SE OEM battery, that one looks like the cheapest crap you can imagine. But so far, all well and it has 1800mAh. AND the most important fact, the Temperature stays at only 25.9° C ! (the orig. stays between 35 and 49)

yep i had no problem with my mugen 1800, only that its a bit more sensitive to total discharge(avoid at all costs) , but it works nice and doesnt say alien battery
the mugen is an after market product where their company have standards and try to make theirselfes a good name by releasing quality products ,
but this is a simple fake , trying to get as much money as possible from ppl who fall for it , no quality standards whatsoever
dont get it twisted
They did a good job. You did a good job.
I'd start pushing buttons, but not expecting anything to come of it, just for my own satisfaction. eBay has no problem with fakes and misrepresentation as long as they get their fees.
At least they spelt Sony Ericsson right. Not like the double capacity batteries.
From the picture provided, the build quality isn't the same. You can definately tell which one is genuine by looking at it, but the scary thing is the counterfeit items look better and better. Not for long, we won't be able to tell which one is the real product.
Have you tested it? If the performance is fine, its worth it.

Yes, I do say! There were several older threads about this phone getting warm/hot. And one person suggested because the battery should be of higher capacity. So I went for this Mugen Power 1800mAh.
When it came it looked really like "what the heck did I buy", and the charge seems to be shorter then the OEM (like about 1 hour or so). BUT the most important part for me is solved, the battery temp stays ALWAYS below 30°C!
Once my OEM went up to 55 and somebody said its close to im/explode.
The phone still gets warm but probably because of the CPU working, definately NOT the battery.
I recommend the 1800mAh anytime! But not this 3600 as somebody stated this is just 2 of those packed together and the phone cannot calculate the real charge and this cover you need looks cheap and probably is!
Hope that helped! Just don't buy this or any other battery off ebay! Go buy it at the dealer to be safe rather then sorry!

I'd also like to know. I am currently in the dilemma of deciding between the 1800 and 3600. The 1800 keeps teh size, but the 3600 offers the power.... Hmm... I'm opting for the 3600 but I wouldn't be able to know if it's time to recharge or not! So .... Also, the 1800 is only 25 euros while the 3600 is 70 euros.
I'd want to have my phone last ALL Day with 3G and leaving a chat application open/connected.

skyevolved...this thread does not talk about the Mugen 1800 MAh battery for the Xperia X1.
This topic is about the OEM Xperia X1 Battery versus the FAKE Chinese Generic Battery. Both are 1500 MAh.
skyevolved, please, just take my advice and buy an extra ORIGINAL X1 battery and carry it with you all the time.
Well, the FAKE battery keep shutting my phone down (just gone blank, no warning) when battery meter reach around 40%, so I assume that the capacity is lower/compromise.
At fisrt, I have decided to keep it, but after it's shut my phone down without warning many times I think I should file a complaint to Paypal.
I've try to contacted SE to confirm these, but no respond from them yet.
May be if many people report them with counterfeit battery, they will act.
Can anyone who have experience dealing with fraud items on ebay help me sort this out please?

Easy, file a dispute NOW. And give a reason to why you file the dispute, and paypal will forward that reason as a warning to the seller.
am i the only one including the thread starter with a slight dent close to the top of the battery? my battery has the same dent lol

It's been over a months now, I'm curious - how did this turn out?
I'm thinking of ordering one of these 'OEM' Ebay batteries simply because they are so cheap now (< $5 USD) - Even if I can get an hour of safe usage on a charge I'd say I got my money's worth at that price point. That's the issue though, safe - I've used many non-OEM batteries in the past and the lack of a pressure release is what worries me most, because of the temps the X1 can get up to with GPS and radio active.
Not sure if I should go with the $4.25 "Non-OEMs" or the $4.75 "OEMs" - both are fakes obviously, but one just tries to be a cheap battery while the other tries to be cheap and look authentic - wondering which would be better in that case...
Peter
Wow, very nice writeup. Thanks for the headsup.
I bought one off ebay.co.uk from "echnouk" for £9.95 they are touted as removed from returned phones. Mine looks genuine when compared to your pics and lasts longer than the original battery does now.
If anyone is after a cheap genuine battery I can recommend this guy
@kanthai
very educational!
thanks you very much
i have confirmed that my X1i battery is orginal! thanks again.
I'm getting both soon so ill post a review. Anyone have experience with both?
Initial reaction to 2000mah - WOW. destroys even my old iPhone 4. And on my iPhone I actively turned off wifi, data etc. On my sgs2 wifi is on the whole time, and I've been listening to music on my Beats (battery hog) the whole time. Right now I'm on 80% after 1.5 hrs screen on 33% brightness, and beats playing the whole time. Stock ROM btw!

itll probs be ok dude but i got to say and warn people otherwise if anything happend i would feel bad
i think it was more the charger , it was the cheap black one , not the white anker one , perhaps this is why it blew up??
however this is a review for the sensation version and again it blows up when in the charger
http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-rev...?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar
here you can see the cheap black charger
here you can see the proper anker white charger
I bought the same kit, two anker batteries with the black charger, no problems, been charging them fine, in fact they last a fair amount more than the original battery, my usual usage on the standard battery has me reaching for the charger around 8 hours, I am typing this out with the same kind of usage with 42% battery life left, I would say you had a faulty charger, not unusual with most things made so ****e these days from china, hardly any product testing done anymore, I have used my anker black charger lots and its worked a treat.

#nothing caught fire
#it wasnt in my phone it would have killed the phone for sure
#i wasnt on the phone with it near my face
i aint making this up peeps i feel like a nob because i was telling people to buy the anker batterys the other day on this forum and nokia users where there is a sgs2 thread
here are the images i took that show the damage
http://s241.photobucket.com/albums/ff299/buxz777/exploding anker battery sgs2/
this one shows what i am talking about
loads of people have used them ok but i wont be putting one any where near my sgs2 now thats for sure
like i say one other person on amazon had this trouble as well so it isnt just me
all i can say is be carefull with them as you can see some of them do seem to blow up

it exploded in the charger, not in the phone...
99% it was a faulty charger that havent been tested. I dont think it will ever blow up in your pocket
As stated before these batteries are fine it's the very cheap build chargers, if you ever open one up you would more likely dash it in the bin exposed connections. Bay the batteries and a good brand changer...
Just got my OEM 2000mah today, will be doing a review soon.

As I mentioned in the Samsung 2000 mah battery thread, I'm very pleased with the stock 2000 mah battery. I managed to get 1 day and 15 hours of of the battery with heavy usage.
Se my other post here for more info about ROM, kernel, setup and screenshot.

Truth
My sgs2 with the OEM 2000mah, wifi, data etc on officially destroys my iPhone 4 when I ACTIVELY turned off data, etc when I wasn't using it.
Amazing. No reason for iOS now. Only thing making me keep both was battery life.
Bye bye i4

I agree these anker batteries make my sgs2 last longer than my ip4 did, something that has annoyed since getting the phone, they really are good.

Update - constant usage since noon. Its 5:07 and I've been listening to music on some big over the ear (no batteries or external power) headphones that use tons of power for 2.5 hours and the screen has also been on for 2.5 hrs. I'm at 55%
I almost order the Anker one.. Phew
Got the 2 Anker batteries and the white charger... use them all the time, they work well!!

I'm getting mine soon!
I've been Quoted INR 900 (USD 17) for OEM S3 battery by Samsung Service center and tomorrow I am going to buy it, as mine last only 1.5 days.Anyone thought of doing same?
R u mad?? 1.5 days is more then enough
This is ridiculous
If I have assisted you, please press Thanks button.
With my S1 and then S2 I purchased 3 spare batteries and in-wall charger off eBay for about 11usd. In roughly 2 years they never let me down. Keep 1 in the car, 2 at home and 1 in the phone obviously.
I have already bought 3 for my S3. Should be here next week.

When are you ever 1.5 days away from a power source?
Like fair enough if you are away for a weeks camping trip or something but otherwise lol.

Why charge your phone when you can just pop the back cover and slap a full battery in? I have rarely used the charger in 2 years.
From 0 to 100% in 30 seconds. That's why I love a removal battery.

I'm not the one who like to carry chargers and hunt for outlets and using phone while charging.I have habit of charging the phone whilst its switched off which dramatically improves cell life.
@sxi200:completely agree with you mate nothing beats a spare 100% battery.
Spare battery always from the accessories thread once they start posting with battery's like the Anchor etc .

Hi, what is the price of each battery and the battery charger did you pay?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
You do make a great point. Replace a battery in 3 minutes or charge the phone for a few hours.
I have never used a spare battery,
All my phones have only needed one charge a day, my iphone 4 i would plug in for on hour or so before getting out of bed
I have modified my S3 so it just needs to be placed on the palm touchstone, so whenever i put my phone down on the bedside cabinet it charges
Samsung will be releasing thier own wireless charger in the next few months, nothing simoler than just placing your phone on the charging pad, certainly easier then messing around removing tne fiddly and delicate rear cover of the phone
Even car charhers are so cheap now, and just 20 minutes on the way to work will add quite a bit of power
Its not like a few years ago when the smartphone would need constant charging because the battery on lasted a few hours
However, if you prefer keeping spare batteries then thats your choice, and whatever works for you is all that is important.. Enjoy your S3's.

The only trouble with no oem batts, is they dont normally have the NFC stuff in, so no good if you use NFC
Last year I was caught short 6 times with unplanned stuff that happened and didn't have enough charge and had to swap the battery over, so I'll definitely be getting a spare and keeping in the glovebox along with my emergency charger, and if I had an IPhone or One X I would have been stuffed, and that's why I'm never gonna buy a phone without a removable battery even though some experts say that's the future of Smartphones.
Im always by a charger but sometimes (weekend night) I will need a spare so its always nice to have the option to swap batteries.
Question though.
If I get another OEM Samsung battery with NFC chip does anything on the phone need to be reset each time I swap back n forth or will it just pick up after each swap.

I come from the iphone background.. Had them all.. Sony experia mini.. Htc one x.. And none of them had replaceable batteries and you get used to it
I think its a case of i always left the house with a good charge, and when in the car i would put on charge for the lenght of the journey
However, i know that buying a spare battery for me would be a waste, as i rarely keep a phone for more than 3 months
The Nexus 5 was produced a while ago, more than 4 years!
But this phone is still fast and I'm using it as my daily device. But there was one problem, the battery!
If you want to replace it you still get an (if you're lucky) an original used battery. If you're unlucky it's a fake one or it was just lying around, loosing all capacity and is at least as bad as the battery you already have.
In 2013/2014 a lot of people managed to press an Lg G2 battery inside the nexus, the BL-T7
BUT this phone and it's battery is very old, like the nexus 5
I tried the BL-T7 Mod, after receiving a lot of fake batterys, I finally got an original one, but yeah, still a 3 years old battery, that was lying around - so it was not good at all, and I lost NFC and Wireless charging
See here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/accessories/3000mah-battery-mod-lg-g2-battery-t3651460/post73284739#post73284739
#############################################################################
Here is what I got for you:
On Ebay, I was looking for a new phone (because of bad battery life) and I found a perfectly fine looking Nexus 5x for 20€, the seller said it won't turn on. I ordered it and i did not manage to repair it, the seller just lied, bc he didn't say it was damaged by water
What I did: I saw the battery, thought about, "hey this is a 2016 battery, original and it may fit"
I ripped it out and really managed to swap this 2700mAh BL-T19 battery with my Lg G2 3000mah BL-T7 battery that was inside my nexus
And holy, THIS BATTERY LIFE! - 5hours SOT under heavy load!: https://imgur.com/a/sOdT0
https://imgur.com/a/HAm8e "normal load"
https://imgur.com/a/x2kXO min brightness, not doing much (only whatsapp), I know that is unrealistic, but at least, it's achievable!!
Benefits:
it's a new Battery (produced in 2015/2016)
NFC working!
Wireless charging working!
The nexus 5x had a lot of problems, a lot of dead phones, and if you're lucky you can buy a defective phone (like me) and get a fully functional battery!!
#############################################################################
NOTE: Use Tape, this is a powerful battery, if the wires touch each other, it may start burning
I won't take any responsibility if your phone get's destroyed!
#############################################################################
How I did this:
this is a BL-T19:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
and this is the one in the nexus 5 (BL-T9):
as you can see, the nexus 5x's is longer, but it's the same width. It's longer than the lg g2's one so i had to make space
I won't make pictures of my mod because i already did it, closed my phone and I really don't want to reopen it did it, see below (5.)
1. Completely disassemble your phone, you need to remove metal from the frame
2. Search a dremel to make space: I have no dremel so I used a DC motor and put sandpaper with zip ties on it (https://imgur.com/a/O7SIU)
3. Now remove metal from the frame, I have here some pictures on my testing phone frame: https://imgur.com/a/53tbX
4. Replace the battery! Do it exacly like here: https://imgur.com/a/Yj7ww
I won't decribe it any further, you may ask for help here or in older threads (Lgg2 battery replacement)
5. Here are some other Pictures I edited for you, the 2nd and third are the important ones! https://imgur.com/a/lpz8W
here are Pics of my mod, don't worry, mine looks a little different because I used another batteryboard because I broke my original one: https://imgur.com/a/8BLVj
6. You're done! try to bootup, close the phone, and be happy about a big battery NFC and Wireless charging!!!
Note that you may have to remove some plastic from the cover that goes onto the mainboard,

Did that mod yesterday, so I don't know yet
Update: I did my first full charge 2 hours ago, have 1h sot and still 91% left, holy moly
Update 2: 77%, 2.5h sot: whatsapp, browsing and youtube half brightness and an slight overclock to 2.35Ghz (elementalx kernel)
Will report tomorrow after a full day usage because for now i'm gonna load it overnight
Okay my test results are here!
https://imgur.com/a/sOdT0
My display brightness was maxed out most of the time.
5h Sot for an intensive workload is very impressive! I tried everything except gaming to stress the hell out of that battery, and it lasted so long!
I'm gonna test a normal workload and upload pictures here if you want.
wow great work!
I'm still using the hammy as my daily driver and using the first original battery.
will try your mod if I have time and the technician
https://imgur.com/a/HAm8e 7 ****ing hours!
https://imgur.com/a/x2kXO Wow.
.... That seems a little crazy for a battery that has only 400mAh higher capacity than the original 2300.. so.. a 20% boost?
Well, I undervolted and my screen was on low brightness
But my core clock is at 2.35Ghz
It was not a worst case, but it's real
and it's not only 20%, because the original battery is veeery old, you are very lucky if you get one with more than 1700mah left
I doubt any of us were getting 5-6 hours SOT even 4 years ago.. maybe, though. It has been a long time. I'm not doubting you, just wondering out loud how that works out since the math sounds weird.

Mostly it's because I really tried to get the best Sot, with using it not much. So my phone was a long time on my desk with whatsapp open, and I was only texting.
That's no usual usage, my usual usage was 7 hours Sot, still impressive
Looks difficult to replace mate
sure, it's not the easiest swap.
Bit if you can use a dremel and solder 5 cables there should be no problem
I did my mod in 2h
expect 1h because theres no need to try and error anymore
I picked up a 5x battery and was going to attempt this but holy cow, you have to make about 1cm of room from cutting the frame/plastic covers. That's far more material than I'm comfortable doing... I'd say keep looking for a similarly sized battery since you're manually wiring the electrodes to the mainboard anyway...

I think you didn't take a look at my pictures, you have to remove everything around it, and reassemble the battery board on the side, if you need one more centimeter, you did something realy wrong
I have an original 5x battery, and I can confirm that theres enough space to fit it in
EDIT: I reopened my phone to fix something up, I made Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/8BLVj

Ah I did miss that. Once I peeled the battery and swapped boards it appears to fit with trimming just the top and bottom borders.
That said, it still didn't work for me... I must've fried my board because it just keeps booting to the battery icon over and over, even when I remove the battery connections.
Also, in your pics you seem to only have two wires directly soldered to the three pads below the battery connector then another wire going into the battery connector itself... is that right?
Anyone know if there's a way to recover from the battery icon reboot sequence? I'm able to get to the fastboot mode, but if it tries to boot into recovery or system it'll just shut off and go back to the battery icon.

That's exactly the reason why I now use another battery board. I killed my original one and had the same battery icon reboot problem. And yes one wire is going to the battery connector itself because I broke the pin on the board, but don't worry, It's the same connection. So you can either use the pins or the connector or a mix between
To 'recover' your phone, try to just disconnect the third pin, this is the thermal sensor pin. It's on the board the very left one. Here's a picture with just the + and - connected: https://imgur.com/a/GVPMt

So the closest thing to Robin's battery is Vivo X5 Pro battery i bought mine of Amazon(IN), its a B-87 type battery.
Watch this youtube.com/watch?v=7hOuFjbT-E0 and this youtube.com/watch?v=BKGQ7vXnERI . {Search for Nextbit Robin Teardown on Youtube}
Open the robin carefully.
Remove the battery and cut the circuit on battery be careful we need this later
By this time you might have noticed that Vivo X5 Pro battery connector is on left side whereas robins is on right side plus is short and small

ok, so the battery pack is the same, not the control PCB attached to it, so you will have to de-solder and swap the PCB battery control circuits.
the lead closest to the ribbon connector on the stock Nextbit Battery is the positive ( so the opposite or backwards to the Vivo battery, the Vivo battery from cameron sino is labeled)
As you can see, it does "fit," and is currently a viable option.(the way i soldered the PCB to the Battery terminals it bends the ribbon in a funky way, but that's my fault, don't suck like me , look up proper de-soldering, PCB tinning w/ flux, and Soldering.)
note, the reason you can't just clip and attach the ribbon cable, is one has 3 connections, and the other 4(Robin,) the Control circuits are different.
i will update with any falures, etc.
also remember to fully charge you new battery before powering on the device again.
and check your volume controls, make a call to assure you can hear and be heard, and turn you alarms off and on again even if it says they're good. (had a bad morning the day after, but it was easily fixed.)
DO NOT CROSS THE STREAMS (good advice in any case )
Good Luck and happy modding.

The battery has aclimated nicely, no excessive heat from the battery (the main board gets hot while streaming twich, sometimes but it's always done that so no more than usual, especially if i have a lot of other things going on in the background.)
I bought my battery from ebay(which i do not recommend,) but they sell it from other battery vendors too.
I would recommend finding a battery vendor state side if you're there and paying $3-4 more, otherwise expect 35 day shipping from China...
I found it just now on Amazon just by searching for "B-87 Battery" Here.

I would need another Robin battery to show it.
And a camera...

I have an original OEM battery I pulled out of a broken robin. Was only a month old so I'm sure it's in great condition if anyone wants it for free. Just pm or telegram me

hola, mi nombre es ignacio soy de argentina, me gustaria comprar la bateria, saludos
Thanks Leftcatcher
Thanks Leftcatcher for help, without the photos you posted I can't change the battery of my nextbit robin. I PURCHASED vivo x5 pro battery from my local shop which costed me 400rs. And it only took me 10 min to cut the circuit of stock battery and connect it to vivo's battery and it is working very good like an orignal battery. Once again thanks.???

Oh nice.
Can you share some photos? Thank you.
I've finally got my hands on a Vivo X5 Pro b-81 battery, but after the swap, the phone wont power on. I've tried leaving charging but as soon as I try to boot up the system, it reboots. If the cable is removed, instantly shuts down. On TWRP, it shows charging but everytime I remove the cable, it starts all over from 1%
Is there any trick to make it work? Thanks
I faced a similar issue for some time. I later found out that a major portion of the connectors need to be connected with a good amount of solder.
Re-soldering the battery should do the trick. Quick note: The battery was great for the first month and the performance now is slowly declining. Your mileage may wary.
Good Luck

So the closest thing to Robin's battery is Vivo X5 Pro battery i bought mine of Amazon(IN), its a B-87 type battery.
Watch this youtube.com/watch?v=7hOuFjbT-E0 and this youtube.com/watch?v=BKGQ7vXnERI . {Search for Nextbit Robin Teardown on Youtube}
Open the robin carefully.
Remove the battery and cut the circuit on battery be careful we need this later
By this time you might have noticed that Vivo X5 Pro battery connector is on left side whereas robins is on right side plus is short and small
disassemble the Vivo X5 pro battery and cut circuit remember the polarities now take robins circuit, negative side on robin is next to ribbon.
Stick the circuit to battery or solder it.
Resemble it and it should be good as new
. :good:

Hello! i think its super neat you were able to swap out the nxtbit battery. im unfortunately at the end of the road with my orig battery, phone wont even stay on unless plugged up. charging and even then it still shuts off on me sometimes. I love this phone and would rather try your method however, im so confused. i couldn't find any info on desoldering as i vaguely know what that it and Im not sure how you detached and attached the pcb, also what do you mean dont cross stream. i know its a long-shot bc you hvnt been active on here anymore but im desperate for any help.
thank you

Mine stays in a box until I find a way to replace the battery. I have the same issue, it stays ON till its idle as soon as I start an app or a call it just shuts down. It works fine if its connected to power all the time LOL.
Did you get that battery OP suggested? I too am a little confused with OP's method. hope you get a response.
I read somewhere there are options on chinese websites for same battery size and specifications and also some are selling batteries for Robin too. I need to explore that, if you find them let me know I will do the same.
