Does the Moto 360 Gen 2 have a speaker?
I've read a few articles on the internet saying it does, but can't seem to locate them now. However GSM Arena has it listed with a loudspeaker:
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_360_46mm_(2nd_gen)-7683.php
And also apparently the Zenwatch 2:
http://9to5google.com/2015/10/13/speaker-support-android-wear-zenwatch/
Is that claim right? 1st AW watch with speaker?
If the Moto 360(15), Zenwatch 2 and Urban 2 have speakers, did the HW hit the market first?
But they didn't mention anything about 1st Huawei watch will get speaker ability/software updates during presentation. I afraid that is not for 1st model.

My worry exactly.
Although if the hardware is the same then I expect we can flash it manually.

Although Huawei did say:
The Huawei Watch is first and foremost a watch, with the added benefit of many smart features and functions. One of the keystones of watches is longevity. We designed the Huawei Watch with this in mind. This forward looking design and component selection is just one of the many ways that the Huawei Watch is timelessly designed and smart within.

I dont believe the Moto 360 2 has a speaker. My research only showed the Hauwei and ZenWatch2 having them.
Thr Hauwei was out before the ZW2, I believe. The LG Urbane2 has a speaker but was pulled from the shelves and unavailable to buy. Those lucky few have been enjoying the calling features.

Its for our model. Do some homework. People are already getting Test builds of the new update that enables the speaker.
We have a speaker. The AW update enables that. Dont worry.
I specifically purchased the Hauwei Watch for this specific feature. I came from a LG G Watch and refused to upgrade until one came with calling speaker support.

I also purchased mine for this specific reason I mean for speaker support. It will be arrive in the end of the week. I had moto 360 (1st generation)for a month and was unhappy with that due to its performance. I hope Huawei enable the speaker soon.

HUAWEI Watch and Asus Zenwatch 2 are the only Android Wear watches with a speaker. Motorola dropped the ball hard and so did Fossil with their Q Founder. As new as the Fossil is I can not believe they didn't put a speaker in it.
I know for a fact the Fossil doesn't too. I took mine apart quick before I returned it to get the HW.

Sadly yes, but Samsung has had speaker and calling support for over a year. I was blown away when I found out that Android Wear did not have such features.
Oh well... Here's to hoping!

It's looking like the secret speaker is about to make an appearance. Hopefully this will be across the board for all W1 watches

Once again.. Could be wrong... I guess it depends on your definition of Gender and Huawei's definition of gender.

I asked 'Huawei Mobile' on Facebook which is their official account and they pretty much gave me the usual: "Keep checking back on social media for news relating to new updates, also your device will prompt you when an update is available"
So I'm none the wiser for asking them directly :silly:

Ok firstly, HTC probably won't release a smartwatch sometime soon.
Secondly, why do you want a smart watch? What do you use it for?
pebble: monochrome display. most practical I say, with long battery life and does what it's supposed to do. Yet as I say again, the display colour is only black.
Sony: All rounder with colour display, great functionality and easy to set up and use. I personally use this one.
Others: Samsung only works with the galaxy phones, so that's a no go.

If I were you I'd wait for the Moto 360 (which will be released this year) or the HTC Smartwatch(also supposed to be released this year)
Don't buy any of the current smartwatches as they aren't very good.
The HTC on has been announced and then another statement saying by the end of the year, then a mk2 probably next year which if bundled with the new phone is a winner for me, and I want one that can alert me of notifications etc, phones always on silent in my pocket so it will be a bonus.

And you are experienced with the current watches? If you are going to just make blanket statements you might as well try and back them up. Otherwise you look like an idiot.
I actually have a pebble, and it is an absolutely fantastic device.
It shows text message, phone calls, emails, FB notifications, whats app messages, etc, right on the screen.
I can control my music from it and it even displays what song is playing.
Battery lasts 5-7 days
Waterproof.
You can get tons of cool watchfaces, that show information like weather and stuff.
Lots of alarm settings and apps.
You can even get apps that do push notifications for google maps right on your watch, or allow you to call people from the watch.
Honestly I found myself wearing my pebble more than my countless other watches.
i will wait for the moto360

Maybe I should've elaborated more on why.
Yeah the Pebble isn't bad but you need to use two apps and a website to manage Pebble, it sucks the battery of the phone and the connection isn't very stable. At least that is my own experience with it. Maybe I wasn't lucky but I've spoken more people about the Pebble and they had the same issues.
It's great, but not as 'smart' as a smartwatch should be imho

Hey all
Sony's next generation smartwatch is a considerable step up in specs compared to its predecessor, packing a 1.2GHz Quad-core processor and a 320 x 320 LCD display, it certainly looks like a good upgrade. The rubber strap appears to have gone down rather badly, so Sony has addressed this by releasing a metal strap in addition, personally i would of preferred Sony to of made this smartwatch compatible with standard watch straps giving a much better choice. Then again we are yet to see if Sony has any other ideas, the "pop out" design could be used in other wearable applications, say on the sleeve of a jacket. Its going to be interesting to see if Sony makes full use of this design.
So who's upgrading? Or is this device drawing in new smartwatch owners?

I actually bought a Moto360 and returned it to buy the Sony.
3 things were bothering me from the beginning:
Black bar on the bottom. In my opinion a major design flaw.
Battery life compared to other smart watches
Usage of the old chip (I should note that in the couple of days that i had it, the processor seemed fine to me; but the fact that they used a 4 year old chip on a state of the art watch pissed the **** out of me. What ever their reasoning might have been. I couldn't comprehend their choice.
I was so blinded by the looks that i ignored them until i owned it. Finally i decided not to break my principals based on looks and returned it. I was looking for a more fitness oriented smartwatch since the beginning and the sony seems like a better fit. i just don't understand why it doesn't have a heart rate monitor???
Anyways i hope the release date is correct and the device works as advertised, because i have been waiting a long time to get a watch and frankly cant wait anymore. fingers crossed.

I'm hesitating, the 360 is Frickin neat but I had both Sony watches and they were both damned good. I guess I'll wait to see what owners say about the Sony SW3 before I decide.

I pre-ordered mine from Sony UK on Thursday. £189 and it says shipments start on the 16th!
I was listening to Android police podcast and realized that 2.0 uses physical back button to go back. LG G watch doesn't have a physical button so it made me think some watches might not get the update because of hardware limitations. Do you think the Ti OMAP processor limit 2.0 from being given to 1st gen moto 360?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA-Developers mobile app
I'll be surprised if it gets it. And really disappointed as well. I remember they said it took a lot of effort to get M onto the original, so I'm not going to hold my breath. That being said, each version upgrade I've gotten on the 360 had helped battery life and ran another than the one before, so maybe we'll get the next version afterall. I would imagine each watch will get slightly different new functions, depending on what hardware it has, like most don't have a standalone gps for example.
I doubt it will. As much as I love my Moto 360, its processor does seriously struggle with some apps. Can't imagine how it'd fair with Android Wear 2.0 launcher, but I'm guessing it'd be a lag fest!
The question for me now is what to upgrade to? There's little point going for the Moto 360 Gen 2, as it has no speaker. That really only leaves the Huawei Watch, Zen Watch 2 (which looks awful) or wait for Motorola to release a Moto 360 Gen 3, with speaker support.

Samsung confirms it will render the US Note 7 completely useless with next update
Samsung Excerpt:
"To further increase participation, a software update will be released starting on December 19th that will prevent U.S. Galaxy Note7 devices from charging and will eliminate their ability to work as mobile devices."
Why is Samsung pushing so hard?
What else is motivating them?
It can't just be safety? Money perhaps?
Do they need to harvest Note 7's parts?
Are they trying to rush getting all N7's before MWC and the S8 (with rumored full screen) reveal?
Are they trying to prevent return trade ups to new 2017 devices (keeping the same installment)?
This push to gimp is insane! Apple would never do it. So, what is truly motivating Samsung?
This might be it unless a Root solution is found, yes?

This sucks. As if the 60% wasn't enough. I was late to prevent that one from slipping thru.
So what's next? Are we beat? Is there any recourse for us? Specifically AT&T? Trying to get a good AT&T firmware has eluded me thus far.

It sounds like Samsung hell Bent on making sure all note sevens are returned

Looks like this is not going to affect Verizon though:
However, Verizon Communications Inc said it would not take part in the update because of the added risk this could pose to Galaxy Note7 users that do not have another device to switch to. (Reporting by Laharee Chatterjee in Bengaluru; Editing by Shounak Dasgupta)
Even still this is pretty low of them. My thinking is they are using these for parts for the next version. They probably know exactly what caused it and it is such an easy cost effective fix, they simply just need to make a few adjustments.
I'm done
Well that's it for me . Sadly I returned my note today . I'm done spending any more of my time trying to keep this phone working . I'm out so much money in accessories alone it makes my stomach turn. I am liking my Xiaomi mi mix though just wish it had a stylus.
I'm sure Verizon will get an update after the Holidays.
Let them try. I have all of those updates disabled.

Would this be the same package disabler 6.3 that we should be using? Or is there something new to know?
I'm not using anything right now (yea yea) and would like to keep this one from happening.

I'm so sad =/
I got the notice from Bell today that December 15th is the IMEI cutoff time. I'm assuming Package Disabler would have nothing to do with avoiding this longer.

I know no one that has had any issue... Are there any persons out there that have had a indication that there phone was going to overheat? Or something that suggested that it was not working properly at any time? Both I had seemed fine. I think it is a deal that they made with Apple, Inc. The news recently was that they did not infringe... my thoughts were this was because Sammy took a financial hit, which sent a lot of people to Apple. The new Apple phone came out just as the phone BS with the Note 7 got started.

It seems like that because I saw a news article that Samsung won a court battle against Apple

6.3 is what I use
So when they begin blacklisting your IMEI numbers what will you do then? Come up with an IMEI solution. Seems like a lot of work just to try and stick it to "the man." How did you ever survive before the N7 came out?

No. Everything is crazy slow on it. It's good if you just want a good looking watch that you can check phone notifications on, but if you want to use literally any other features, wait for the next gen of watches that will use Qualcomm's recently announced chip.
Go for it and buy it everything is great with android wear 2.0,I would buy it again..

Sorry, I take back my previous post. I almost never use apps on my watch. I just gave them another try and each one takes a few seconds to open. It's not perfect, but it's not awful. I've been spoiled by my super fast Pixel 2 XL. You're right though, the new processor doesn't seem that much better, so maybe you should just get this one. It's definitely the best looking one on the market still, in my opinion. And you're right, the new cpu isn't that much better. So if you don't mind being stuck on Android 7.1.1, go for it.

This is a great watch with slow update schedule. I use mine daily and would easily recommend it. :good:
thanks guy, bought one SS huawei watch 1 and waiting for delivery, will update soon (sold my gear sport).
Good choice. I still love mine. Its imo the most watch-like smartwatch. And I have receive compliments from friends, family, colleagues and even random strangers in a lift regarding the watch.
Got to agree with the above. Good choice. Huawei got it right first time.
Had mine since the Huawei Watch first launched in the UK. Amazed it is still going so well and I am STILL getting compliments about it. The only thing that would tempt me away from this little masterpiece is if Huawei made a real successor to it.
I think had they not inexplicably reduced the face size in the Watch 2, I would have upgraded. But here we are, still with the Watch 1

my first smart watch (not smart band) is samsung gear sport, i use it for nearly a week but samsung eco system is way too aggressive n galaxy apps quality is really poor, bought some and almost none of it work out of the box ...
than try look for alternative smart watch but almost all is target for health/sport, only watch look a like is huawei watch 1, for me i can wear my huawei band 2 pro or fitbit as monitoring device or gym band., watch 1 as watch.
Yeah my first watch was Moto 360 Sport.. but it had some issues so returned it and got a LG Urbane.. it was nice.. but accidentally killed it with water.. so the got the Huawei Watch 1.. I LOVE it... the Saphire screen.. good battery life.. nice look .. small bezel.. good speaker.. and current on Android Wear OS.. all for around $100 or less... very good value IMO!
