No. Everything is crazy slow on it. It's good if you just want a good looking watch that you can check phone notifications on, but if you want to use literally any other features, wait for the next gen of watches that will use Qualcomm's recently announced chip.
Go for it and buy it everything is great with android wear 2.0,I would buy it again..

Sorry, I take back my previous post. I almost never use apps on my watch. I just gave them another try and each one takes a few seconds to open. It's not perfect, but it's not awful. I've been spoiled by my super fast Pixel 2 XL. You're right though, the new processor doesn't seem that much better, so maybe you should just get this one. It's definitely the best looking one on the market still, in my opinion. And you're right, the new cpu isn't that much better. So if you don't mind being stuck on Android 7.1.1, go for it.

This is a great watch with slow update schedule. I use mine daily and would easily recommend it. :good:
thanks guy, bought one SS huawei watch 1 and waiting for delivery, will update soon (sold my gear sport).
Good choice. I still love mine. Its imo the most watch-like smartwatch. And I have receive compliments from friends, family, colleagues and even random strangers in a lift regarding the watch.
Got to agree with the above. Good choice. Huawei got it right first time.
Had mine since the Huawei Watch first launched in the UK. Amazed it is still going so well and I am STILL getting compliments about it. The only thing that would tempt me away from this little masterpiece is if Huawei made a real successor to it.
I think had they not inexplicably reduced the face size in the Watch 2, I would have upgraded. But here we are, still with the Watch 1

my first smart watch (not smart band) is samsung gear sport, i use it for nearly a week but samsung eco system is way too aggressive n galaxy apps quality is really poor, bought some and almost none of it work out of the box ...
than try look for alternative smart watch but almost all is target for health/sport, only watch look a like is huawei watch 1, for me i can wear my huawei band 2 pro or fitbit as monitoring device or gym band., watch 1 as watch.
Yeah my first watch was Moto 360 Sport.. but it had some issues so returned it and got a LG Urbane.. it was nice.. but accidentally killed it with water.. so the got the Huawei Watch 1.. I LOVE it... the Saphire screen.. good battery life.. nice look .. small bezel.. good speaker.. and current on Android Wear OS.. all for around $100 or less... very good value IMO!

I received the G-Shock Gb-6900b-1b yesterday as an awesome present from my bro in law. It wasn't linking to the phone until I updated to 4.3. Casio says only the iPhone and Galaxy 4 are officially supported, but everything is fully functional as of the update.

Congratulations! Could you post some photos and to tell what exactly gives that synchronisation?
It is too expensive for me in any case. I have had a G Shock watch, I have bought it in german Amazon for about 10-20 Euro, it is looking quite the same. It has an awful quality, despite Casio usually don't do a bull****, but one left button "mode" has fallen, so now I can use this watch only with arrows.
But I think for 180 dollars they do much better watch hehehe))
I just don't understand what gives that synch for such price? Has it geolocation or radiation detector?)
P.S. white watches in your link are fancy
Here are some pictures. Keeping it connected is kind if a pain though. Hopefully it improves.
It's pure Bluetooth, allows you to set alarms and find my phone if lost. Not as fancy as the smart watches but much more durable and last a couple years.

Problem with the smart watches is requiring to regularly recharge the battery. In addition to other mobile gadgets now there is a watch to recharge (!)
So how does the battery on the casio manage with bluetooth ?
G-shock is a term Casio has been using for over a couple of decades now.
It's says it will last about two years on its charge before the battery needs replacing. No recharging!
Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
so what is the function of the bluetooth?
My guess is that if it's constantly connected to your phone then the knock on effect will be that both devices will be hit by the usage, unless they've found a way to drip feed the BT and retain battery?
Two years on one charge is pretty epic when you consider it connects via BT.
Perhaps a kinetic type watch which replenishes the juice when you move would be a better innovation.
I've got one of these and it works pretty well. You can get alerts for email, sms, facebook, twitter, etc. You can also control the phone from the watch with features such as skip forward/backward on your music player, play/pause, volume up/down etc. The watch even displays track name info and email & SMS sender on the display. The downs are that it's a very large & chunky watch and that's from someone with a large wrist and that the phone's battery is greatly affected by this connection. I carry ZeroLemon spare batteries so to me it's not as big of a deal but to others it may be a deal breaker. Another thing is I had to disable one of the features due to annoyance & something that does need to be addressed by the folks at Casio: Lost connection warning. This is a good idea and in theory is supposed to warn you before you leave your phone somewhere. In practice what it does is annoying alert (tone & vibrate) regularly when your phone is in your pocket next to you and the connection is just dropped. The connection is far less reliable than most bluetooth devices I use and this includes going back several years. Other than that the watch is supposed to last a couple of years on a single battery which the competition couldn't dream of (although old Nokias before smart phones were the same since they had limited features which is a similar comparison) are ultra durable and with a solid price point too. While I hope they add some more features and fixes easily done through app updates the watch itself is pretty solid as expected for a G-Shock.

I couldn't find it in the play store, I was able to find it on my old xperia sp when I search for the G-Shock+ app. And if I try to side load the apk, it says "application not installed"... Could you extract the apk from your phone so I can try it out again?

G-Shock+ alternative: BlueWatcher
Hello everybody,
I'm the founder of the Android Application called "BlueWatcher". BlueWatcher is the alternative to G-Shock+ Android app to control CASIO Bluetooth watches. A lot of users missed functionality in the official app and I decided to release my own app including the functionality that users proposed me. It's evolving quickly!! Now it supports all kind of notifications (facebook, whatsapp, line... all installed apps), time synchronization, musico control...
You can visit http://www.bluewatcher.es to discover more about BlueWatcher and what BlueWatcher can do for you.
It has been tested my many users in the XDA Developers forum and now it has more than a hundred downloads (~4.70 punctuation at Play Store).
I'm here to help you ([email protected]). Feedback is welcome!
See you and hope you enjoy it!
Use the old version of Gshock App
Hey man, just use the old version of the Gshock App. and don't update it. It will work better again, connects automatically.
i'm also thinking on buying gshock with bluetooth, im just wondering if the music controls work with other music players such as spotify?
After Lollipop Update it didn't work
Can't connect on my Sony Xperia Z1 after the Lollipop Update. How about yours?
I'm not sure whether the right forum to post this thread.

You won't see any screen on it, even no LED screen to show the time.
But it doesn't mean Mi Band is bland or worthless. I think it's quite powerful.:good:
- Unlock your phone via bluetooth without passcode (using BLE)
- Fitness monitor: track various health metrics and sync with your phone
- Sleep tracker and smart alarm: vibrate to wake you up during light sleep
- Notification: vibrate and flicker when you receive a new SMS or call
- Waterproof with the rating of IP67: you can wear it when showering
- 30 days standby when full charged
And the most awesome thing is, it's very cheap: only $13! It must be one of the cheapest smart band on the market.
But there are some cons:
No screen. However this makes the battery life longer.
It's only compatible with Mi 3 or Mi 4 with Android 4.4 based MIUI (It's the worst thing! )
Any ideas about Mi Band? Will you buy one if you had a Mi 3 or Mi 4?
Useful additions for Mi Band
Unlock and call reminder features are only for Xiaomi phones, is that right?
And how about whole wristband, does it work work on "normal" Android phone? My common sense telling me that it should - there is no restriction, it is just a bluetooth transmission. But maybe I'm wrong?
This looks brilliant. I was actually researching BLE technology and considering making something like this to unlock my phone. Seems I don't have to, at least if Xiaomi makes it support other devices.

I think it should work on other Android phones, but it couldn't, Even the older Xiaomi phone's like Mi 2S is not compatible.
Xiaomi is too "closed" now. Xiaomi will lose many potential customers if they keep doing that.

Yeah...I hope the next generation (Mi Band 2?) can support more devices.
Xiaomi is following Sammy's footstep, trying to get new customers by releasing phone specific gadgets. The only difference with Gear - that one got rooted, but with something as simple as smartband - most likely it will be locked to their phone. The same as they announced before about release of MI pressy-clones. Also, you have to realize that $13 is heavily subsidized price, they are giving it away at the cost or maybe below the cost, just so they can get new MI customers. Similar to what Amazon does with their tablets (hoping to get more Amazon shopping customers) or Google did with Nexus 7 (trying to jump start Android tablet business to take away share from iOS).

I heard a rumor that the cost of Mi Band is only CN¥ 49 (about $8.5)
i think in europe it will cost triple
where have people pre-ordered this from?
It starting to show up on websites that sell xiaomi and even aliexpress (although the price is higher than announced, but still a good deal considering).
Im just wondering, this does work with other android phones or just with xiaomi? Anyone knows yet? Its still new, so there probably isn't much info on that yet

HTCMania discussed in that it can be used with any Android, a user has been tested with a Nexus5 ... I have installed the apk without problems, but this in Chino, hopefully soon be translated into Spanish or English.
They have the apk file, but being new I can not put link.
Good to know!
We will probably start seeing more development on these as they start to get to more people.
But the function that it was to unlock/remove pin or pattern when you grab the phone/close to the hand with the bracelet probably won't work, right? Unless someone comes out with an android mod that will allow that.
Still, as a fitness tracker you can't beat the price
When in stock?

Not trolling. The 360 has terrible battery life and the app ecosystem on apple's watch looks way more polished. Also I'm not a fan of the wedge on the 360, nor the fact that stuff is cut off due to the round display.

Yeah, specs don't mean chit nowadays. I prefer using my nexus 5 to my Xperia z2 or anything that Samsung touchwiz has come on, because its so much cleaner and doesn't lag. Apple iPhone 6+ may not have the quad HD display but it'll provide a great user experience. Also the integration between iOS 8 and my macbook pro, as well as contactless payments will work great.

This is the best comment of the day. Apple announcing nothing would have been better than releasing this design. Seriously what were they thinking? Jobs is rolling over is his grave right now..
iWatch was ok until they showed the thick side profile. Eye sore like the new iPhone 6.
That image burns my eyes.
aside from how ugly this device is...
I really wished the moto 360 had NFC built in as well as some of the other sensors.
That aside, you really can't talk about the app ecosystem for the watch yet... the device isnt out, you wont know how polished or unpolished they are until the device is actually in consumer hands.
all that said, I welcome the competition, it gives android the motivation for making an even better product.
Have you heard that Chinese cellphone manufacturer Doogee is able to produce its first wearable device , Doogee S1 smart watch. This smart watch is different with the traditional one , which can complement the fitness features, and it can also track your sports achievement, of course monitor your heart rate. It doesn’t need to be connected to a smart watch.
Why do i say that? You can make calls with a SIM slot to Doogee watch. independently from your phone, and even connect to the internet via 3G networks. We’re still waiting on the full final details but we hope to also see WIFI in the device too.
Check Doogee S1 main features:
Dialer / Bluetooth phone call: Unlike most smart watches, the DOOGEE S1 can independently make / receive phone calls with its own SIM card
Phonebook / call log / message / music sync: Save time: Access notifications quickly on your wrist using smartphone sync
Heart Rate Monitor: DOOGEE S1 is a smartwatch can accurately test your heart rate and closely take care of your body condition
Pedometer: Record the steps you take and count your exercise distance to monitor your fitness
Real Time Weather and Barometer Information: When get connected to network, it will report weather and barometer to give you a considerate remind
Extra Features: Sound recorder, music player, calendar.
By the way, i got the good news that it has been released now. Will you have a try?

I bought one yesterday, unfortunately it doesn't sync with iPhone waiting to look after a rom! It has a great and easy fully functional android menu, although on every watch face it doesn't show steps n heart rate so you hahave to access them through menu. If you have any other question, do not hesitate to ask me.
In addition to your impressions of the overall build quality of the watch, I'd really like to know if it has the 1900 MHz band as advertised. This is critical to using it as a standalone device in the US. If it has both 850 and 1900, its a game changer in its class.

It doesn't work at all or just message notifications? I've heard this problem many times on chinese smartwatches, iOS just doesn't allow it.
I bought a cheap huawei mobile phone to sync my doogee smart watch but still it doesn't get any notification, it works standalone.. However it says that is waterproof ip67, yesterday when I was cleaning the dishes its screen flashed white twice, and from then it doesn't work at all.. I suggest you not to buy it
I'm sorry for your loss. I assume you're going to request a replacement? Keep us posted...

Glad i found this i was about to buy one. Anyone know of any good smartwatch that have notification and run 4.4?
Hey
Am I the only person that thinks there isn't another smart watch that looks as good as the Huawei watch 1? I mean it's not too bulky and looks like a cool normal watch. I have a black one. I wish they would just release a new version with the same body but updated hardware. The only thing that irritates me is the notification buzz, it's too loud. I'f i'm at work it's annoying for the people around me. Other than that I think it's really cool. Had it for a good few years now.
Any just sharing my thoughts
Still using mine and it's absolutely amazing. Won't be changing it any time soon. Great watch.

Only just stopped using mine and it's simply down to the fact it doesn't have NFC. Still the best watch IMO, just lacking that one feature I like
I picked up a used one a couple of weeks ago and I love it. It looks GREAT, still runs very smoothly, and the display still seems to be one of the best around.
Fossil Q Gen 5 Carlyle looks good too, but is the new kid on the block ahahah

I actually just managed to bring up new life in my Huawei W1 by changing its battery myself(a lot easier than I thought...saw a youtube video). Got a battery from Aliexpress. The old one was very swollen.
Now it runs just as smooth as when I first got it.
Too bad that now I also want the Fossil 5 Gen(only because of NFC...and rotating bezel...and hopefully better charging procedure that does not require fiddling every damn time)
Just picked one up off kijiji for $100 CAD. Loved it the moment i saw it when it came out but didn't agree with Huawei's pricing. It IS beautiful, but people were not gonna spend that money on a brand that (back in those days) ppl didn't really know. It was always been on my mind. Jumped at the chance to get it. It's just a BEAUTIFUL watch! I get more compliments on it than on anything else. Just got back from 2 weeks in California. Tons of ppl asking me 'What the hell is that?!', followed by, "Wow! Nice!"
great watch, really loved mine. used it for 4 years......then the chargers started dying, 1 after another.....4 chargers later...the watch wont charge., only sometimes...was really sad
Have you tried polishing the contacts on the back of the watch? Same happened to mine, would only charge sometimes and only if the charger was in exactly the right place. Gave it a good clean and polish on the watch contacts (not the charger) and it's been working great since

What was your procedure for clean and polish? I've tried but it gets bad again pretty quickly.
I've got a dremmel / rotary tool thing that has a polishing attachment - I use that around the contacts then wipe down with a microfibre cloth afterwards.
I just got a GT2 for Christmas, which I really like. However my W1 is still the best looking smart watch.... If only Wear OS didn't suck battery so quick when on full sync. If sync is off I get several days of use, but sync on and I get a day and a bit if lucky. Whereas the GT2 will get a couple of weeks...

I think the GT2 looks better. How are you dealing with the lack of wearOS features? I have an original Huawei watch, looking at a GT/
Didn't use most features day to day so I'm fine.

Yep. Not been charged yet. Straight out of the box on Christmas Day. Still on 64%. I have constant heart monitoring, stress test and upped the screen timeout to 10 seconds.

Great price. The only thing it doesn't have is speaker phone and newer heart rate monitor. The rest seems to be pretty much the same. [emoji4]

I just bought the MK Lexington 2 Gold, loved the look of the watch, absolutely gorgeous...BUT... My 3 + Year old HW1 still gets better battery life and unfortunately neither live up to the Samsung GW 46mm. Still love and use my HW1, but it doesn't go on business trips.
BTW I returned the Mk.
