The RUU file is just bigger, so that website of baidu.com wants users to install a software from them(baidu.com).
The gui language of that software of baidu.com is Chinese simplified.
But we still have an other method to download it without using the tools of baidu.com.
You need to download a download tools named: Jdownloader2 and install it.
Jdownloader2 is a tools to help downloading files.
Also you may need to install Java Runtime Environment
To copy the file url from your browser, then jdownloader would get a respond to help us downloading files.

I've got the .exe file and it simply wants to self-install in a directory with my JJ. So, which directory should I try to install this then?

Just extract the rom required using winrar or similar (normally done by right clicking on the file and selecting extract)
donwload the file "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe"
Copy this file into the directory
Run it and the Country ID error will come out, run it again right after, and it should work

I purchased an imate jasjar in Italy last week. The salesperson confirmed that I can change the language from Italian to English. But when I contacted the Imate people they say it is not possible, Can someone guide me?

Hi hanhha2000, the required rom that I wanted to flash is with a .exe extension behind, how can we use winrar with this type of file, hope you can enlighten me as I have also ran in Country ID Error problems, thank you.
Will this technique work for my i-mate JAMin? im just afraid to screw up my device completely cos iv heard that that can happen

Hi,
The way i use is run the update rom and when appear the Country error, open the windows explorer and copy the folder in the temporary folder to a new location, then put the file ...noID.exe in the new folder.
I have searched the tforum and not found an answer.
i have installed Miri's 6.5 rom, and cant get a java jar or jad file to work, keeps telling me there is no application set for this file type, so how ccan i rectify this, i have tried downloading the esmertec jbad 20081203.1.2.zip, which im guessing would cure it.
but what do i do after i have tis file on my pc hdd, i have tried coping it to the mem card then extracting it, still no joy.
does anyone know of a java cab file.
if not could someone give me instructions (idiots guide version) on how to get this esmertec one to work.

Gh! If it is *.zip file you must open it and see what is inside:
1- *.cab file: copy this *.cab on PPC and install it (tap on the file)
2- *.exe file: Sync the device then you must extract the file on PC e 2clicks on it by PC (follow the istructions)

I have created the Goldcard, but when i download the RUU rom and try to open it, it has said it is invalid!
THEN i downloaded it again and when i tried to install it, it then said - This file is not a valid WIN32 file...
I AM A NOOB! I seriously have no idea what to do from here, i already have the goldcard.
I am running an Orange branded htc desire, on software 1.15 and 2.1 update 1.
Also i am on windows vista Home premium with service pack 2

Did you download it from shippedroms.com site?? Did you follow the link posted here??
From what you say I think the filed did not download fully/properly. I faced the issue.
Just google the same rom name and see if you can download it from somewhere else. Or Start the download from shippedrom.com and keep watching the download window to see it it downloads fully.
so I downloaded the ruu then connected the desire and selected charge only on desire then I run the ruu utility . wait and it should work

Yes mines like that too for me the program name is:Ŭ±ÈÑǼ±¾È¹¤¾ß. Haha.
I literally had to guess what I had to do to get it working the pictures helped a little.
I change the name using Linux Mint.
I'll upload the file in a few days.
I'll have a look the the text files (resources) in order to give some explanations if I can do it.

There's no need to rename the files/folders using linux. Opening the .zip file in explorer (win10) is enough to uncompress it, then tou can rename files/folders as you like.
The software installs and run just fine. Nubia Z17 is supported up to rel. 3.08 (so it seems exploring the "Recovery" folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\nubia\BackupRecoveryTool.
All the recovery files are in .7z format and password encrypted (don't know at the moment if the password is embedded into the recovery tool main program.

After unlock it once and flash TWRP, all other attempts are KO (can't flash with adb).
I wanted to flash the "standard recovery" to install the OTA update (modded 3.08) and reflash after TWRP.

Downloaded several times but it looks corrupt.
7-zip can not open it.
Windows explorer extracted it but while running, it says can not find path.
