LGUP Problem - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wanted to do a V20A Stock reset for my G4 because it's stuck on the Boot Screen. But I don't know how to use the LGUP Software. http://puu.sh/m5UfO/9c23f10cf5.png It recognizes my device, but where do I put my .kdz in?

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

you open LG UP
choose upgrade, choose the kdz
then close LG UP, open it again, choose refurbish and your good to go
refurbish will wipe your phone, or leave it in upgrade to keep current data

Change that *.tot to *.kdz and hit enter in your keyboard and you will be able to see the kdz file.

I did. Thank you very much

This drove me crazy for about a good half hour. After working on this phone for over 6 hours and finally getting LG UP to work, it wouldn't recognize the KDZ file.
To get LG UP to accept a KDZ file, select Upgrade and then look for files.
BTW, if you're having issues getting LG UP to even recognize your device:
Make sure your device is in DOWNLOAD mode. The screen won't say "download". It will say "FIRMWARE UPGRADE".
Search for UPPERCUT on this site. Its a small executable that will automatically launch LG UP but before it does, it runs a few other things that make LG UP actually recognize your device.
GOOD LUCK!

KDZ ERROR "File Extract Error." "Finished"

hey, i have an LG optimus G 97310H i have rooted my phone but now i must send it away as it is having hardware issues.
i used superSU to permanent unroot. but for some reason SUPERSU PRO is still in my applications list.
and it dose not give me an option to remove just Enable OR DISABLE. so what im trying to do is remove it. so i thought if used KDZ and installed the official ROM. i downloaded the ROM from 2 sources. and when ever i put my phone in download mode. KDZ gives me this error.
"File Extract Error."
"Finished"
any help on how to fix the KDZ error. or if i can remove the superSU another way?

Corrupted kdz? low free space available? virus?
Reboot pc and try different usb port.
LG Optimus G E971
I see no any reference between "File Extract Error" and "different usb port"
.KDZ is an archive, which will be privately unpacked by update tool and if the checksum of .dz (or .tot) is ok, flashed to the device.
"File Extract Error" means .kdz unpacking went wrong.

i tried one from the LG tool i found on here and one mirror
Any updates for this issue? I got a LG Optimus G Pro F240L from south korea and it is stuck in download mode. Everytime I use KDZ updater I got the same error: Extract File Error
Since it's a model less common I managed to get the KDZ from only one place (lg servers).
Need help lol!
KDZ unpack error
Have the same problem. Mine is Optimus G E977. I download 4, Official KDZ stock from LG Firmware list and very one gives the same error. I try to donwload again, and still the same error.
I also have a Optimus L7 and KDZ update function flawless. Maybe it's because the size (more than 1 gb).
Would appreciate any help
I think it's a corrupt download.try to download the kdz from browser, not with kdz updater.

KDZ unpack error
I already did. I download several KDZ files from different sites an for different countries. Nothing works when size is more than 1.0 gb. Smaller size files works well. The problem is that almost all KDZ files for Optimus G are more than 1.0 GB in size.
KDZ Unpack error
Could unpack several files (all of them less than 1.0 gb).
But large KDZ files (more than 1.0 gb) couldn't

Restore stock KDZ after custom rom

I want to restore my stock LG E975 kdz after using a custom rom and CWM recovery. First I put the phone in download mode, run KDZ FW UPD tool and it begins to extract kdz file. But as soon as it begins Param 1, the phone enters recovery mode and the upgrade program loses connection.
What do I need to do to flash the stock KDZ now?

Guess i could install another rom which might have a different model number that's more friendly to Freegee.

glad it helped man!
For anyone else with the same problem:
I got stuck in a boot loop with the LG logo after flashing the kdz, likely due to the unlocked bootloader left by the custom roms.
I fixed that by doing a hard factory reset (volume down and power button). all fixed

You've loaded the wrong file, follow the link further down to find the correct location for kdz file, untick bin once you have downloaded it to reveal kdz, don't forget to retick after along with upgrade!

Hey!
If you're rooted just use a file explorer and go to
/device
and delete the Cust folder
and then reboot.
that will stop the pop up from happening again.
If you're not rooted then I'm not sure you can remove it. There might be a way but I'm not sure
Can see the Cust. Folder from es file explorer, got about 6 folders in it, just delete the lot?

Heya
DId you download he kdz file from here
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G4/H815/H81520D/
The KDZ isn't in the complete 20D zip it should just be one file.
Take it that you are rooted then because I wasn't, and I downloaded the kdz from further down the link. If you uncheck the bin box you can then drop down the file type box to include kdz. You can flash the zip file but lg up uses kdz or tot file.

Lg h185 vodafone

Guys need help desperately been fighting with the phone since Tuesday,
lg H815 G4 was on Marshmallow (MM) and I wanted to go back to a previous version to lollipop (LL) so I decided to download the LGUP application on my Computer I had then found a KDZ for my phone which was a 10B/C . I started it up and it hanged at 11%. So I thought oh well will be able to turn the phone back and continue using it on MM, however when I turned the phone on it will just hang on the LG logo and then force itself to go into download mode. I assume that the Previous OS has been deleted so it can only go into Download mode or Factory Reset. So now I am trying to get it back alive, however whenever I use LGUP I am getting the same error code at 11%. My DLL version for LGUP is 0.0.4.0. When it reaches 11% it hangs for about 10-15 seconds and shows a error code whilst being on the "modem" step. the error code it shows is: Error: Error Code = 0x2000, [ERROR] RX TIMEOUT : 5.0. I was also trying the Lg 2014 tool and that was not working neither is LG bridge update recovery and Lg flash tool is also not working. whilst reading this thread I realise I can only use LGUP as the phone is/was on MM. I have also used around 7 different KDZ all not working
Please I need help to fix the phone as someone is coming to buy it tomorrow (Friday)
I await for your response (s)
Lg is a UK H815 FROM VODAFONE WAS PREVIOUSLY ON V20i
Huh. Did you think about trying another KDZ?
Also, try the following:
1. Try it on another PC
2. Reinstall every single LG software you have, and try again with a DIFFERENT kdz
3. Try a different cable
4. Try changing the COM port of your phone. IDK if it will help you, but when my old LG G2 had issues with download mode, I'd just change the COM port to 41 and it would work.
Good luck!
