Lg h185 vodafone - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys need help desperately been fighting with the phone since Tuesday,
lg H815 G4 was on Marshmallow (MM) and I wanted to go back to a previous version to lollipop (LL) so I decided to download the LGUP application on my Computer I had then found a KDZ for my phone which was a 10B/C . I started it up and it hanged at 11%. So I thought oh well will be able to turn the phone back and continue using it on MM, however when I turned the phone on it will just hang on the LG logo and then force itself to go into download mode. I assume that the Previous OS has been deleted so it can only go into Download mode or Factory Reset. So now I am trying to get it back alive, however whenever I use LGUP I am getting the same error code at 11%. My DLL version for LGUP is 0.0.4.0. When it reaches 11% it hangs for about 10-15 seconds and shows a error code whilst being on the "modem" step. the error code it shows is: Error: Error Code = 0x2000, [ERROR] RX TIMEOUT : 5.0. I was also trying the Lg 2014 tool and that was not working neither is LG bridge update recovery and Lg flash tool is also not working. whilst reading this thread I realise I can only use LGUP as the phone is/was on MM. I have also used around 7 different KDZ all not working
Please I need help to fix the phone as someone is coming to buy it tomorrow (Friday)
I await for your response (s)
Lg is a UK H815 FROM VODAFONE WAS PREVIOUSLY ON V20i

Huh. Did you think about trying another KDZ?
Also, try the following:
1. Try it on another PC
2. Reinstall every single LG software you have, and try again with a DIFFERENT kdz
3. Try a different cable
4. Try changing the COM port of your phone. IDK if it will help you, but when my old LG G2 had issues with download mode, I'd just change the COM port to 41 and it would work.
Good luck!

I have Optimus G (F180L). It's rooted, sms problem fixed. But 2 days ago i removed some system apps through apk delete and it was working fine till i switched it off and when i turned it on, it gave me security error. I cant go to recovery mode, i am able to go to download mode but i cant flash through kdz updater as it gives the error "file extract error" Any help in this regard would be much appreciated

Could u please guide me through the process of converting f180l to e975 english version, i have downloaded the hong kong kdz file, downloaded the flashtool as well, the f180l baseband files, but i dont know how to use the flashtool and flash the baseband files after flashing the e975 firmware. A stepwise guide would be really appreciated,
plz follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624
Yep, follow that thread. You need to secure a copy of the F180L modem driver (zip), otherwise your telephony will be buggy or not even working.
The goal is to be able to boot to TWRP or CMW and/or access fastboot.
Do the steps on that thread first then post the issues here if you are not successful or if you encounter error along the way.

I have installed the stock rom, my phone is up now, alive , but i want to convert it to E975 english version, i need the guiding steps to convert my f180l to e975. I have already downloaded the Hong kong rom, baseband files, flashtool etc, just need the exact steps to go through.
KDZ or flashtool (recommend the latter) the same way you did with korean stock rom. After the flashsing done, wait for the phone to boot up, then turn off and do a hard reset. Then root, install recovery and use that to flash a baseband for your model. Gl

[Q] [HELP] Phone Soft Bricked, no tool working

Well, let me explain what happens...
I have an LG Optimus G, which I've rooted. I wanted to install CWM, but I didn't read at the tutorial that this wouldn't work with the bootloader locked. I restarted the phone and it tells me a "Secure Booting Error".
I can access Download Mode, and there I've tried the LG Mobile Support Tool, which always tells me that "Battery is low". I've tried unplugging the battery, but the same. If I could bypass this error, probably I could have again my phone alive. I tried using also the FlashTool, but it says the kdz is corrupt (>1GB) and when doing a test upgrade, it shows again the battery trouble.
What should I do? Shall I buy a new battery? Or is there any other method to bypass this message?
Thanks for your time and your patience.

It's not just a key combination... To enter download mode, you should turn off your phone (hold Power for >15 sec), then hold both Volume buttons and connect the phone by a USB cable to your computer. Is this exactly what you are doing? And it's not working?

Best would be if you could do a fresh install of your firmware using the flash tool ie. the cse flash. Do you have your firmware file downloaded somewhere? Another option I can think of is repairing using the LG PC suite. You may like to consider these options.

Simplest way would be to install "LG phone from" app from the play store and run it. It will provide you with the link to the kdz file for your phone.

@Arthurvben that sounds like a plan... Sure I can tell you how to go about flashing using the flash tool. You can actually watch this video in the meantime:

LGUP Problem

I wanted to do a V20A Stock reset for my G4 because it's stuck on the Boot Screen. But I don't know how to use the LGUP Software. http://puu.sh/m5UfO/9c23f10cf5.png It recognizes my device, but where do I put my .kdz in?

As i told close the lgup application then open it dont click the refurbished its default on upgrade ?

you open LG UP
choose upgrade, choose the kdz
then close LG UP, open it again, choose refurbish and your good to go
refurbish will wipe your phone, or leave it in upgrade to keep current data

Change that *.tot to *.kdz and hit enter in your keyboard and you will be able to see the kdz file.

I did. Thank you very much
This drove me crazy for about a good half hour. After working on this phone for over 6 hours and finally getting LG UP to work, it wouldn't recognize the KDZ file.
To get LG UP to accept a KDZ file, select Upgrade and then look for files.
BTW, if you're having issues getting LG UP to even recognize your device:
Make sure your device is in DOWNLOAD mode. The screen won't say "download". It will say "FIRMWARE UPGRADE".
Search for UPPERCUT on this site. Its a small executable that will automatically launch LG UP but before it does, it runs a few other things that make LG UP actually recognize your device.
GOOD LUCK!
