So today I received in the mail a brand new first generation Moto 360 stainless steel. The first step in setting it up is to turn it on by pressing the power button. when I do so nothing happens. Any ideas? I tried charging it, yet the charging cradle also shows no signs of life

Hi everyone This is my first post, and I'm hoping its the right place to put it.
I just got my Moto360 after upgrading from a Pebble. The change is a little to get use to, especially because I feel like I had more control over my phone with my Pebble than my new Moto360. One of the issues I am having and attempting to cope with is the screen keeps randomly turning on. I've come to understand it has to do with the light sensor in the watch, and whenever it detects light, it comes on. My gripe: I dont want that. I'd rather conserve the battery life and hit the button to make it turn on. Is there ANY way to fix this? I have Ambient screen off on both my S5 and the watch.
My second question is this: I put my watch on charge for the night. As I put my watch on, and fell asleep, it appeared as if it were charging. But as I woke up, the watch was dead. Now, I wonder if the cradle is a smart charger that cuts power to the watch after a full charge. I even checked the connection and the watch was FLUSH on the cradle. So I wonder if anyone else has had the same issue?
Thanks everyone!
I received my moto 360 in the mail. I tried to turn it on, no good. I put it on the charger. A soon as I put in on the charger it gives a quick vibrate and flashes the moto M for a half a second. It does this over and over with brief periods sometimes, but most of the time it is continues. I let it sit and charge and it gets warm as it charges, but when I pick it up, it never turns on. I held the power button for a minute and it never turns on. Does anyone have any ideas or is it back to the store with it?

I would contact Motorola 360 support (they have a dedicated number for it). They were very friendly and quick in my experience. :good:
I just received my Moto 360, and noticed it was not turning on right out of the box. After thinking that it was out of battery, I placed the watch on the charging dock. The charging dock light lit up, and then the watch lit up and vibrated, but then it went into some sort of bootloop in which it would repeatedly flash the motorola screen and repeatedly vibrate. I tried different charging wires, different sockets (even plugged a micro usb into my computer) all with no luck. As soon as I take the watch off of the dock, the bootloop stops, but the watch doesn't light up.
I once got to a screen that said bootloader 94f and battery status ok after continuously holding the power button while it was on the dock. But there were no options or settings, and eventually fell back to the bootloop.
Thanks in advance for your help.
I bought moto 360 and it arrived few days ago.
Since then I tried (literally) EVERYTHING to get this damn thing to charge up until 80%(so I can go through setup).
It NEVER goes up until that, even if I charged for a DAY(12 Hrs - 65%)
But that's another problem.
If I put my Moto 360(with MORE THAN 60% BATTERY) on the charger, it turns off after few seconds - NOT the 'Theatre mode', but a 'Power OFF'.
I bought a charger from Ebay(which says genuine w/ original-looking box, but I know those can be copied since I got shammed with original boxes before), and the watch gets REALLY hot while charging.
IS that normal?
Note : I really try to avoid return/service since that means +$10~20 for international shipping, and I want to use this damn thing NOW.
My watch version is Android 5.1.1, so I can't do factory reset from boot loader.
Is this a 1st gen or 2nd gen 360? Did you buy it new or used? Will it run fine for a few hours off the charger, and can you get it pair with a phone? Is there any discoloration on the screen that "pulses" when you press on the screen or the back?
Assuming you have a used 1st gen watch, I would guess that the internal battery is worn out to the point where it's now bad, and won't take a charge anymore. If there's pulsing discoloration on the screen, this confirms a bloated battery.
I bought it used, and it will run few hours. But the screen wasn't discolored.
After pushing through setup via hand-made USB cable, Everything worked fine.
Yeah, it sometimes overheats & turns off, but I think it's because it is a defective charger(the problem persisted with two chargers before-now it works with samsung charger)
So.. about a week ago, my moto 360 died! It somehow turned itself off and hasn't turned on since. I've tried holding the power button for 25 seconds, for 2-3 minutes and still nothing. I've tried replacing the battery (it charges, gets very hot and the white light on the dock is on). I've tried different wireless charging docks, but still no action (save for the charging lightening symbol once for about 5 minutes). Any ideas?
