Does anyone know if the replacement device they send is new or refurbished?

Refurbished. It should be your own device unless it cannot be repaired then you get a used device in exchange for your used device.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

Depends on the stock they have, you may get lucky and get a new one, chances are it'll be a refurbished one though.

[Q]Is this a known problem?

It's past 14 days but it's still less than a month. Since T-mobile won't replace it and Asurion wants to charge for a replacement. Do you think HTC will replace my phone since it has a defective hinge. Remove * to see picture of the broken hinge.

Screen problem please help!!!

Hi,
I have an gel case on my desire and when i drop it either nothing happens to it or it will switch off and ill turn on and it works. today i dropped it in the house and the screen went blank, the screen isn't broke and the touch screen is working but the display is black ?

Assuming you're from Europe, according to EU law:
"Article 5
Time limits
1. The seller shall be held liable under Article 3 where the lack of conformity becomes apparent within two years as from delivery of the goods. If, under national legislation, the rights laid down in Article 3(2) are subject to a limitation period, that period shall not expire within a period of two years from the time of delivery."
Check if your country adopted this. It should, cause afaik it's pretty farking old...

thanks yes i live in the UK but the phone wasn't sent i bought it from the shop on contract a year ago, so i go back to phoens4u would they be able to sent it back according to this law?

I think so, but you'll have to show them that you know the law and all, and you're not likely to get fooled, then i guess they'll behave
Btw: delivery by the way it's meant there is just the moment when you get your hands on the good, it has nothing to do with shipping afaik.
Cool so I will go to phones4u tomorrow tell them I need a repair and show them these if they say no and can you give me a link to.it so I can print it off

theres a thread in the general desire forum about the warranty getting void, well it is worth a try better than nothing i guess...
do you know where i can get that law that was mentioned before??
and also my phone has been repaired once by them would my warranty get renewed form that date ?

edit: my phone has been repaired once by htc would my warranty get renewed from that date it got repaired ?

So I just got my HTC one from best buy about a week ago and it just developed a long line of stuck pixels. Who do I contact since I have a blue one? Best buy?

I would refrain from the store if possible they might screw with your plan. They have to add the phone to your account and they'll probably try to change your data plan in store. I get my phone tomorrow in the mail :good: hopefully there aren't any issues.

I was wondering when yours was coming. The only problem is with the pixel problem it sometimes fixes itself and then comes back. Which is quite annoying.

How long ago did you get your phone again? I just hope they don't try to screw with your data plan if you do go into the store. Maybe just request a replacement online via the BestBuy website?

I'm sure they'll try to force you to activate the phone in store and who knows what the rep will do. That's why I aborted at the store since the punk was trying to change my plan.

Haha I can picture that. I can get the pixel line to fix itself when I use the dead pixel app, but it comes back after a while... This is so frustrating it was perfect untill today.

I'm worried about mine too lol. When I had the Rezound I had 4 brand new out of box that had dead/stuck pixels.

I have odd luck with phones. But it has gotten me a lot of free phones lol.

Moto Z play scratch on back side

Today I got my moto z play from amazon. So while I was looking around the back of my device I found this scratch. So should I replace the phone from amazon?

I agree. Replace it man. It's a beautiful device in my opinion. And it's one thing if you end up scratching it. But to receive it scratched is a shame. Replace it. When you get the new one you will feel way happier despite the wait...

Totally! The phone must come without scratches. Anything out of the box different from perfection must be returned immediately.

Yes I am from India. I contacted amazon via customer service number and they said they need to see the crack so they gave me an email to which I sent pictures of the cracked location and they approved it and sent me an email that I am eligible for a replacement. They will collect my phone tomorrow.

RMA Question

If RMA a VZW Pixel 3 XL through Google, will they send me a Google Store version back?
Unfortunately there is no real way to determine what they will do. My suggestion would be to return the phone, then order a carrier unlocked phone.

No because as soon as you give them the IMEI number they'll know it didn't come from the Google Store and they won't RMA at all. You'll have to return it at Verizon.

I gave Google the IMEI and they gave me the option of either using Verizon or Google. I decided to use Google in the hopes of potentially getting an unlocked Google Store version as a replacement.

I got the confirmation email that my old device was received today and that they sent out another unit. They also gave me the IMEI which i checked out at a few sites, but I didn't see any indication of whether it was a Google Store variant or not. Is there a good way to check somewhere? Otherwise I just have to wait until Thursday when I get it back.

I don't know of a way you can check with your IMEI number. I am anxious to hear what model you get though. What did you RMA for?

I was having issues with the mic. Whenever i called someone the heard static real bad with what sounded like feedback or a high pitched whining noise. Issue persisted whether i used the buds provided or while on speaker. Bluetooth had no issues though.
Fingers crossed that it is Store version, but I'll settle for better call quality.

No. I didn't get it on some sort of deal. I don't qualify for synchrony financing because i filed for bankruptcy last year. I got laid off the same time my wife had a brain aneurysm and the bills got out of control. Now we live an expensive part of Denver so our kids can actually go to a decent school with better peers. I work two jobs, my wife one, and i am a full-time student. So yeah. I bought it from Verizon because I've been in good standing with them and didn't have to put money down. Life happens. Tired of people taking crap about buying through them. If I could, i would have got out through Google. Maybe i will be able to next year or the year after that.

I'm actually a bankruptcy attorney. You could probably find out where with a very simple Google search. I hope your post-BK life is going well. Please send me a PM if I can help out with any advice about rebuilding credit or something else.

Call quality is much improved. New device is a Verizon. A bit bummed. I'll continue to hope that a root method is found amd maybe next year I'll get the Google version.
Question, would you guys RMA for what might be a speck on the inner lense rim?
It's not affecting photos but i just noticed it today and i'm not sure if it's a dirt particle or if it's part of the lense \rim housing under the glass...
