Audio issues with headphones - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, only recently, when i plug-in my headphones, the audio comes out with lots of hisses, cracks and glitched sounds.
Every sound generated by the phone (ring tone, phone call, mp3, notifications) is accompained by random noises.
This happened only recently and I cannot figure out what the cause can be. Headphones are the same as always.
The problem doesn't occur when playing sounds trough the built-in speaker.
I tried to install different roms and revert back to stock, but the problem persist.
I guess now this will be a hardware issue?

Try googling it its one of the most common lg g3 problems temp fixes include restarts factory resets and if im not mistaken a diffrent kinda headphone with a slighlty differ plug its most def in the hardware

It's a problem with low impedance headphones. What worked for me was editing the mixer_paths.xml.

[Q] Audio Problem after Genocide kernel and Cyndiacte Frozen 1.2

I had both installed but started to get the force close issue where i couldn't start up anything. I then flashed back to stock ec05 with no root and now my audio sounds very bad through my headphones. It sounds "digitized". Sort of like the headphone aren't all the way in but they are. Headphones that are only stereo sound like that and headphones with a mic sound ok but lack bass and the volume is very very low. Is this a known problem after genocide or cyndicate or did i physically break my phone. Also I like to mention that I do irrigation systems for a living and dirt does get in my pockets so could that be the problem?

Distorted bass (headphone jack)

I am having a problem with the headphone output. When listening to anything bass heavy... such as house music, the bass is distorted. Its sounds almost as if the headphones I am using are blown. I know this is not the issue because I have tested several different pairs, all with the same result. I even experience this when I have the phone hooked up to my car stereo. Volume isn't an issue and everything else seems to sound fine... its just that bass notes and kick drums sound horrible.
I'm coming from a Vibrant which was a powerhouse with voodoo sound enabled.
I understand that the Yamaha dac in the SGSII is nowhere near as good as the Wolfson used in the SGS... but it shouldn't sound this bad?!?!
I have tried just about every audio/dsp app available to no avail.
Does anyone else have this issue?
Also... not sure if it matters but I am running Juggernaut v3.7
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
hmm I was going to suggest you get power amp and just turn down the overall level in the eq. that might help in troubleshooting where in the signal chain the distortion is coming from. If it remains distorted at low level i would assume it wsa a hardware problem.
Ive certainly not any problems with distortion as long as i keep good gain structure in my eq.
I have tried power amp. I also tried lowering all the levels down. Nothing works
I forgot to mention that the problem exists even at the lowest volume settings... quite fustrating
I really hope it isn't faulty hardware... not sure ill be able to get a replacement
Completely different hardware but I had this issue on my HD2 after either making the lower frequency settings too high with other DSP or equalizers or when I used root level volume boosters like Volume Hack+
Are you using a stock (non-flashed non-rooted) build? If not, you can try a nand backup and flash a fresh install of your ROM. Not installing anything and go back to the same songs to see if they distort.
The SGS2 can push a good amount of low frequency granted you have earphones/equipment that can pick up low frequency output. I use it in my cars and with my Sennheiser headphones with no real issues and great output. Even with max volume, no distortion.
The HD2 was capable of only so much before it distorted but I haven't been able to replicate the issue with my SGS2. But then again, I haven't installed DSP or any other 3rd party volume/equalizer apps.
Im running juggernaut 3.7 w/ bullet kernel. To be honest I didnt check what it sounded like prior to rooting and flashing the custom rom. I only installed the dsp apps to fix the problem.
A new release just came out so I will take your advice, wipe and start with a fresh install.
Hope it fixes the problem.... its really driving me nuts.
Have you tried a different ROM? If not, try CM7 Alpha v3. Theres nothing like CM's DSP Manager.
Make a NANDROID backup first, that way if the problem still persists, you can always easily switch back to your current ROM.

[Q] Gt-n7100 audio issue

I recently replaced the screen on my GT-N7100 international model. I am getting a loud audio feedback or piercing noise coming out of external speaker instead of any normal sounds (boot up music, text / voicemail / email alerts, etc). I thought it was the charge flex cable because that connects the speaker to the logic board, but after switching it 3 different flex cables, no change. I tried switching speakers, no change. I have tried using original flex and speaker, no change. I tried a combination of new and original parts, no change. What could be causing the loud feedback sound that began after switching the screen? Everything else seems to work just fine. Could it be software issue?
why dont you try here

headphone audio switches to speaker when making call

This started a week ago when I tried out a new rom with this problem. I clean wiped and downloaded another more stock rom, and the problem still remains.
Basically, the headphone sounds great as always, other than the few times when too many apps are updated and the sound becomes choppy. However when someone calls me or I call someone, the headphone looses all connectivity yet it still thinks its connected. When I try to play music or any other audio after this, it too now plays through speakers and not the headphone. Only when I take it out it and put it back in does it sometimes turn to normal. Otherwise the only thing I can do is a reboot.
Tried this with 2 different headphones.
Lost root for now so don't have the logcat.

Headphone Sensitivity Problem

Over the past several days I have encountered a serious problem whenever I try to use headphones with my Mi 6. When I have a headphone plugged into the audio USB dongle and attempt to play music, at the slightest vibration, tracks will start and stop playing, tracks will change, the volume will shift, and the microphone will activate. This has made it almost impossible to listen to music with the phone anymore. I have tested this with two headsets, which both cause the effect, though it does not happen if I do not have a headset plugged in. Because I have had this phone since soon after it was released, my guess is this problem was caused by a recent MIUI (I'm on 10 8.10.11 Beta) update. It kept occurring even after I installed Blackplayer and tried using that instead.
It sounds more like a hardware problem to me, dirty or loose connections

I tried cleaning everything as best as I could, but to no avail. Does anyone else have any experience with this problem, or is there a way I could disable the phone from accepting input from the USB port so that my headphones will be usable?
