Over the past several days I have encountered a serious problem whenever I try to use headphones with my Mi 6. When I have a headphone plugged into the audio USB dongle and attempt to play music, at the slightest vibration, tracks will start and stop playing, tracks will change, the volume will shift, and the microphone will activate. This has made it almost impossible to listen to music with the phone anymore. I have tested this with two headsets, which both cause the effect, though it does not happen if I do not have a headset plugged in. Because I have had this phone since soon after it was released, my guess is this problem was caused by a recent MIUI (I'm on 10 8.10.11 Beta) update. It kept occurring even after I installed Blackplayer and tried using that instead.
It sounds more like a hardware problem to me, dirty or loose connections

I tried cleaning everything as best as I could, but to no avail. Does anyone else have any experience with this problem, or is there a way I could disable the phone from accepting input from the USB port so that my headphones will be usable?

I'm having a lot of issues with playing music in my car. I drive 1.5 hours a day to work and I really want to be able to listen to music through my phone but it's getting increasingly frustrating.
I have a D855K
Android version 5.0
Kernel version 3.4.0
Software V20f-505-01
I used to have a Samsung S2 and I'd have it connected via bluetooth to my car head unit which is a Sony WXGT90BT . This worked fine with my S2. With my G3 I've had a lot of issues. The audio will cut out randomly, sometimes this will happen every 5-10 seconds, and sometimes it will be once a minute or so. It usually cuts out for 1 second, but it's very frustrating when the music is constantly being interrupted.
I decided to try using an aux cable instead of bluetooth, but there were even more problems with this. The slightest bump on the road would cause the cable to move and open up Voice Mate. I tried disabling it under apps, but it would still pop up so I rooted my phone, bought Titanium Backup and froze the app. This stopped Voice Mate from popping up, but now whenever the cable moves it skips the track, going to the next one or goes back a track or pauses the music. Sometimes it opens up Google Voice Dialer, or Google Voice Search. I have none of these issues with earphones. I have also tried multiple aux cables all with the same issues.
I should also mention that I'm using Power Amp Pro as my music player. This is the same one I had on my S2. I'm not sure how it's changing songs when the aux cable is moved.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue, so I thought I'd check here first before sending my phone away. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Bluetooth issues are fixed in 20H firmware. D855 firmware should be compatible with D855K, though i don't know for sure.
Jack being detected as handsfree is an unfixable hardware issue, it stems from LG's jack detection algorithm. I guess the most we can do is mod the software so it always thinks that only headphones are plugged in...
Thanks for the reply.
Since it's rooted I can try updating to 20H to see if it fixes the bluetooth issues.
As for the Jack, I don't like the sound of unfixable... If I can get bluetooth working though then it doesn't matter too much. The longer the phone is out the closer we'll be to getting a fix, so hopefully it does eventually get fixed.
Hi
just set up the device and all went fine, trying youtube music for the first time.
after some seconds the music disappeared with crackle sound through ehadset on highest volume.
unplugging and replugging the 3,5mm headset through adapter that came with device on usb c there was an electrical crack sound in the headset when un- and replugging.
closing the app and relaunching worked for a short time then sound disappeared on one ear. same crack in ears on (un)plugging.
second headset no difference, but then it works without any issues when using headset volume just one step below max volume.
so this is a known issue on that device, software thing or hardware thing?
evreything else is fine, should we cross check built in speaker on highest volume for crackles to chekc the hardware or do headset through usb c and built in speaker run throught two different output stage/amplifier circuits?
thx for any help
Yea this is happening. There is another thread here also talking about it. It drives me crazy... Seems to be software related (hope so), as some people said installing another rom solves the issue. I also noticed (at least until now) that the problem seems to involve instagram, everytime I had this issue, I checked and instagram was opened on background. I don't remember having the issue when I close instagram beforr plugging the headphone. Not sure about the relation though, still needs to test more.
I will install xiaomi.eu rom soon to test if this happens there also.
Btw, what miui version are you running?
Sent from my Mi 9 SE using Tapatalk
Whatsapp aswell is a big issue. Some people said replacing the typec/jack adaptor works.. but i dont have another one for the moment to test.
ah, just saw the other thread, 2 sites already
so at least no hardware issue, at least not the device, maybe the adapter
thought about buying bluetooth or usb headset anyway as i think even if only some grams the 3,5 on the adapter always tears a little bit on the cord/usb c plug over weeks/months/years and might affect the port
after a restart and reinstalling youtube music i could not reproduce it anymore
have been listening half an hour music without any issues and had a phone call another 25 minutes with headset without sound issues
running global version with
global 10.2.9.0 PFBEUXM
while PFBEUXM should stand for eu anyway?
is there a way to flash another official rom without rooting/unlocking the device and loosing warranty?
thx
Hey anyone have any audio issues on this phone or possibly another MIUI device? Here's what I'm getting:
Usually, I plug in my headphones and right away I get great volume and my player auto-plays. But as it keeps playing the music pauses for a second and then resumes automatically. The headphones icon disappears in the notification area for that time when the music stops. I thought it may be Poweramp's issue but the same thing happens in the default MIUI Music app. (Playing MP3s from SD card - haven't tried streaming apps yet.)
If I unplug and replug the headphones from the audio jack, the same thing happens still. But after I unplug and replug a bunch of times, eventually the music suddenly starts playing at about half the volume it was initially, and the problem no longer occurs! To clarify, the volume is still set to 100% but the actual output volume is only half as loud as it was initially when the problem occurs.
There's no MIUI audio settings I can find that could be responsible for this.. Any ideas??
This happened to me too, the problem is in outdated headphones jack. Try a few other ones, the newer versions of the handsfree will fit accordingly.

Interesting. Just to clarify, you're saying that the device I'm plugging into my phone (headphones) is the problem, right? It would make sense why other speakers I've plugged in haven't had this issue.. I wonder why it'd be happening since I've never run into this issue with any other phone and I've had these headphones for many years now.

Yes the device is fault. When you plug in the jack, the headphone icon starts blinking right? it goes on and off and keeps on until you force it to play some song.. I had been using my favorite headphones for 1.5 years and i had to buy new ones when i bought this phone because they wont work properly.
When my bluetooth earphones are connected, every phone sound (calls, ringtones, etc.) comes out of the speakers, too - as in, I hear the sound in my earphones, and it's coming out of the phone's speakers at the same time. The only time it doesn't happen is when I'm listening to Spotify. My partner has a Pixel 6 and has the same issue.
I've cheked bluetooth settings and everything that should be checked is checked. It's really frustrating and I can't figure out if it's by design or if I need new earphones (even though I don't have this issue with these earphones and any of my other devices) or WTF else is going on
Any ideas?
My Galaxy buds pair with no problem and appear to be playing but there is no sound. They work great with other devices and have worked on e before with my Pixel 6 Pro. Very frustrating. Rebooted, forgot and reconnected, and even reset the earbuds. Still nothing.

Did you find a solution yet?
That's an odd problem, and not a common one for sure.
What kind of bluetooth earphones are you using?
Did you reboot your device?
Did you try out a safemode to see if a third-party app causes your problem?
-> Especially since your partners phone also has this problem, maybe you use the same third-party app causing this?
You could also try to reset/clear cache/storage the basic Google processes running to see if they have a hang up.

Nope, no solution. I've done everything you mentioned and nothing has worked. I've also tried different bluetooth earbuds, just in case, and no joy. I know some manufacturers choose for "phone" sounds to play toghether with connected buds, but I take it from your reply that it's not the case with the Pixel 6 Pro so I'm just baffled by this.
For now my way around this issue is to put the phone on silent or vibrate while connecte to bluetooth, but it's clearly not a solution.
Hi all,
I have a quite common problem as I see in Samsung forums (example). A few weeks ago I connected my A50 to a BT speaker, then as soon as I disconnected it, the sound stopped working (system sound, media sound, etc.) and the audio & video playback is on FastForward like 5x mode. So if I play a video, an audio message, etc, I see the seconds of playback go crazy, sometimes at 2X rate, sometimes at 5X, sometimes slowing down...
As soon as I connect a BT audio device, the playback is normal again and I can hear everything. Sometimes if I reboot the phone, the sound from speaker comes back for a few minutes, but then it disappears again. Lately even reboot does not help.
I updated to latest version (A11, Jan 2022 Patch) and did a factory reset via recovery. The problem is still there.
Rebooting in Safe Mode make the sound works! But not immediately, I have to reboot in safe mode, let the phone settle down a few minutes and then I hear sounds. I check the sound with secret code *#0#*. Then when I go back to normal mode, even without any google and samsung account connected, without all personal apps, without SIM, the sound does not work.
Will a custom ROM solve this issue definitely? Or do you know how to solve it while keeping the stock ROM?
I also tried to debloat the phone disabling 125 apps via Universal Android Debloater but it did not help.
Im facing the same problem , did u find any fix?
This occurred on default os - i did factory reset and it wasnt fixed - installed a custom os and stil nothing.
Have you tried cleaning out the headphone jack? Sometimes if there's gunk in there it'll cause an intermittent or long term short that makes it think there's headphones plugged in.
