Dead Pixel - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I purchased my phone maybe 3-4 weeks ago and I'm now just having a dead pixel in the top left corner, almost pin sized. I'm in Canada and we didn't have the Nexus Protection at launch. My question is what is my best course of action? Just recently they have now instituted the plan upon purchase.

I bought 5x from Canadian Google store also and found a dead pixel too. I called them and they are sending me replacement 5x no problem.

Dead Pixel

Hi Guys,
After a weeks usage ive just noticed a dead pixel on the screen. Is this enough for a warranty return?
anyone had simular problems?
I purchased from mobicity in Australia.. would it be best to go to them or to samsung?
Its not really a bother.. but i paid close to $500 for this
Go to your dealer for an exchange.

got mine through Amazon.com,
fine for first 3 weeks, and then I noticed a stuck pixel as well. It has just been returned.

Google/google fi Nexus 5x builds sent in the last few months

With my N5 having issues and having no interest in the "pixels," I decided to try the 5x (bought one from B&H Photo for husband in Jan--Nov build). Since we were going to join Fi for European travels, I ordered from them. To my surprise, I received an October build. It doesn't seem to have the input while charging error, but this one definitely has a yellow tint (and less clear display) so it's being replaced.
I'm curious about the manufacturer dates sent out in the past 3-4 months either by fi or Google. My phone is black, 32gb.
If you bought 5x from google/fi in the past few months, what build did you get?

verizon pixel XL question

okay so Bestbuy has pixel XL black 32gb in stock, can pickup same day whatever. get them to hopefully price match google or verizon as it makes sense?... anywho, what i want to know is can i unlock my verizon bestbuy pixel and adb flash it to googles standard stock rom their pixel comes with and will it receive updates, unlocked, and adb flashed to 100% stock? and will there be any difference between my phone and googles minus the fact I picked it up at BestBuy, and also for any form of warranty support, would I contact google? I know back in the 6P days if you bought it at bestbuy youd have to contact hauwei as google didnt support it at that point.. it had to be bought from them...
or should i suck it up, wait for the XL on googles website......
Similar situation here. Both Bestbuy and Verizon store has the Pixel XL in-stock, but Google Play currently shows XL out of stock. I saw other forums that try and persuade people to not buy from Verizon because their boot loader is encrypted and can't be unlocked. I don't think this is true, but I would like to verify. It's just a pain to have to do all of this work to get Android stock installed. I just want an unlocked Pixel and go on my way.
PS: It's weird that the XL version is out of stock, all colors (silver, black, blue) and memory (32gb and 128gb) are all sold out on Google Play. I see people upcharging these devices on Ebay and Amazon for twice as much as what you would pay on Google Play. Ridiculous. I can wait.
I walked into best buy and walked out with a 32 gig two weeks ago. The guy selling it to me was pissed because he was still waiting on his. Fair warning though, best buy doesn't carry the 128 gig

As of today you can still unlock the best buy and Verizon bootloader's with depixel8

I have returned one pixel 2 XL because of a faulty usb-c port and one Pixel 2 because it just killed itself when factory resetting, in both cases I got new sealed products from google. I'm from germany fyi.

Note 7 Advice needed

Hey everyone, I recently purchased a note 7 online and am wondering how to go about sending it back to Samsung for a replacement phone, or a full refund (if possible.) I've been looking around for a few days now and most places say to take it back to where you bought it for a full refund. Thing is though that I bought it used, and on top of that, it isn't even working. (beyond being able to boot into download mode when plugged into an ac adapter.
I also wouldn't mind getting it running just to play around with it for a bit, but that seems nearly impossible to me at this point.
In conclusion, anyone have any idea what I can do? Has anyone else here had a similar experience?
P.S. I live in Canada but I ordered my Note 7 from the states.
