With my N5 having issues and having no interest in the "pixels," I decided to try the 5x (bought one from B&H Photo for husband in Jan--Nov build). Since we were going to join Fi for European travels, I ordered from them. To my surprise, I received an October build. It doesn't seem to have the input while charging error, but this one definitely has a yellow tint (and less clear display) so it's being replaced.
I'm curious about the manufacturer dates sent out in the past 3-4 months either by fi or Google. My phone is black, 32gb.
If you bought 5x from google/fi in the past few months, what build did you get?

I was kinda hoping with the announcement of the new Nexus 4, Google would slash the price to $200 to clearance them out, but I'm hearing nothing. The gnex was still being sold earlier today so what's to become of remaining inventory?

Yea strange. I guess they wanted to keep all their products aligned. 4, 7, and 10. All Nexus no manufacturer branding. No where have I seen Samsung or LG or ASUS.
Maybe they will eventually. I was thinking $249. $200 is really low.
Inventory wasn't very big to begin with and must have dropped off steeply after the Nexus 4 went into production. I guess they were selling off the remainder all this time if you think about it.
Yeah as a guy who works for a retail store, I'm wondering if Samsung bought back all the inventory. I've seen my company do it over model changes. This might be the whole point of the Galaxy Premier, the unused gnex inventory might be remanufactured into a different phone model.

Hi Guys,
After a weeks usage ive just noticed a dead pixel on the screen. Is this enough for a warranty return?
anyone had simular problems?
I purchased from mobicity in Australia.. would it be best to go to them or to samsung?
Its not really a bother.. but i paid close to $500 for this
Go to your dealer for an exchange.

got mine through Amazon.com,
fine for first 3 weeks, and then I noticed a stuck pixel as well. It has just been returned.
I purchased my phone maybe 3-4 weeks ago and I'm now just having a dead pixel in the top left corner, almost pin sized. I'm in Canada and we didn't have the Nexus Protection at launch. My question is what is my best course of action? Just recently they have now instituted the plan upon purchase.
I bought 5x from Canadian Google store also and found a dead pixel too. I called them and they are sending me replacement 5x no problem.
So I've never bought a phone from Google before since I'm on Verizon and this is the first Nexus that's ever been available to me and I'm unfamiliar with their support procedures.
With the 10% cash back with Chase Freedom next week, I'm thinking about buying the phone through Amazon since it's now available there, but I've seen people commenting that Google support is very good in the case that I ever need an RMA. Can anyone comment on how long the RMA period is through Google and whether it is worth buying from them directly vs getting it through Amazon? How many people have actually needed to RMA the device?
Thanks!
Isn't it cheaper through Google--at least enough to cover the 10%? I've never needed to RMA, but wish I could have dealt with Google on my N9 which I bought from Amazon (open box, though). Like you, I've read great reports about Google support and have bought 5 phones from them, including the N6P. On the other hand, I've not read horror stories about LG (like I read about HTC). My N5 is still going strong. You will double your warranty through the visa card (no matter where you purchase) plus 120 day purchase protection-at least mine does. I used it once years ago. You still have LG warranty no matter what.
Thanks for the heads up on the 10%. I didn't know.

It's the same price now. Think it was updated on Amazon yesterday.
I just read that Amazon has the 5x discounted. http://deals.kinja.com/save-80-on-the-new-nexus-5x-1744859161.

Google's website has $80 off the Nexus 5X for Black Friday weekend. $350 for the 32GB model, I wish I had waited for this deal.
Has anyone from Australia received their replacement handset from samsung yet?
No, the 21 days they quoted I thought would be a max time, now thinking is a minimum time to wait...

Finally got my S7E on Tuesday. They rang me at day 22 to tell me they had no more black and I had to wait until mid December, or could immediately get silver or gold, so chose gold, was told 7-14 days (wtf, that isn't immediate!) and 3 weeks later, at working day 14, it arrived and with the crazy packaging with fire blanket etc for the N7.
I dunno what will happen for those holding out for the black like I almost did, after they block the N7 IMEI from the Australian networks 15th December!

must be costing samy lots to get the telcos to block known oz iemi numbers, too bad its not full proof as its impossible to block the note 7s bought from international sellers.
