Notification time of texts and Emails - Huawei Watch

Hi there,
I have The watch with android wear for IOS.. The time of notifications dont show, so its not possible to see when the message came or the calendar invite.
I know there are way too many restrictions on ios but at least the time is important. Can you guys know any solution to it. I really do like this watch even though the vibration is a turn off.
Thanks

Stop Text Messages Appearing on Lock Screen

Is it possible to stop text messages flashing up at the top of the screen as I would rather not have personal texts read by colleagues etc when I am away from my desk at work. I see nothing in settings to allow you to stop this..
Doubt it. Why not take the phone with you when you leave your desk?
Why don't just take the phone with you?
Also I don't think your txt would show up on the lock screen, just a number for missed calls and unread txt. If it did indeed show up then I'm sure you can disabled it in the settings.
sent from my moto cliq
Just tested it on my Samsung Omnia 7 and it flashes up the first line of the text message at the top of the screen even when the screen is locked. I think this is a basic privacy issue and there should be an option to not display it as there was in windows 6.5
I often walk to a colleagues desk for a couple of minutes why should I have to take my phone everywhere?? I also demonstrate things to colleagues at my desk and I dont want personal texts being viewed by other people. I dont think this is unreasonable and should be fixed quickly as I know it would put many people off.
Is there a forum where these issues can be flagged to microsoft to fix in a future release.

I agree. This is not an unreasonable request. Hopefully support will be added for it.

[Q] Calendar

I just had a quick question which google can't seem to answer for me. I am sort of torn between the 360 and the galaxy gear solo and for the mean reason of the wifi. I often leave my phone some where and walk off with my watch on for extended periods of time. So if I have an appointment or reminder etc... I would like still be notified of it. Basically is this possible with android wear? can it locally cache data (say for a day) and still send notifications without a smart phone (obviously I realise this is not indefinite)
Sorry I realise this is more of a wear of question than a moto 360 question, so apologies if this is posted in the wrong place.
Thanks for all your help in advance.
Many thanks
James
Android Wear caches nothing. In fact, if you dismiss a notification to get it off screen, it is gone for good; not only on the watch, but your phone as well. I wanted this primarily for notifications, but its management of them is so poor I found it unusable.
Thats a shame, this may stop me from buying an andriod wear device at this moment in time. Thank you very much for the help
Ah this is really annoying, theres no undo button like in google now screen?
I have seen some launchers and widgets you can use for andriod wear in the play store, does anyone know if I could achieve the same thing through using them?
The watch does very little on its own. My recollection is time and date, timer, stopwatch, heart rate, and pedometer.
The watch stores the current day's worth of calendar entries locally. See https://support.google.com/androidwear/answer/6056862

[Q] viber and facebook problem

Some time ago my 360 doesn't vibrate anymore, when I get a Viber or FB message, it only displays the message. In the phone apps the vibrate is turned on. Does anyone have the same problem ?
You mean Viber used to work on the Moto 360? It doesn't vibrate on mine... but it shows the message.

Same here! it does show notification on 360 but no vibration! I will try to fix this now with universal medicine, such as one I fixed google now reminders! Clear viber cache and delete all old messages!
if you use Facebook Messenger, chat heads somehow stops the watch vibrating.
If you turn it off, your watch will vibrate on every FB messenger message.
I don't use Viber so can't help you there.
Thanx, I'll try that with FB. Maybe you are right about Viber, and it only worked on my previous Gear Fit.
My Watch Notifier App
Hello,
I had exactly the same problem with the Viber messages
I wrote to Viber to ask them to update their notification which I think is 2 line of code and they answered me:
"This feature is not currently available. We are always happy to receive new feature ideas and requests from our users.
We will take your feedback into consideration as we work towards improving our services and enhancing your Viber experience!"
Ok, I knew that the feature is not available. But it is also just 2 lines of code ... common ...
This was the reason why I created my own app that simply gets all the notifications and you could select for which of them to send a message to the Watch to Vibrate.
Here is the link on the playstore - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newlinetechnology.wearvibrationapp
I'm using it on my Moto 360 for about 2 weeks and I don't have any issues. So if you want you could give it a try and let me know if you have any comments.
Thanks and Kind Regards,
Yanislav
Hey @flymanj if we give notification access to android wear too, will we receive the notifications twice or just once?

The notification will be received just once. I'm not showing a new notification as the Android wear handles it pretty well, but just makes the device vibrate
Kind Regards

Why am I getting lags on notifications?

Hi,
Basically it started happening before this release anyway but for example messages other than sms come late, like from whatsapp or tinder, wechat, etc. Mail application never notifies me of any email unless I bring it to the front and it checks that time. I set the checking time to every 15 mins so it's not me.
It's really annoying because it's not speed lag but notification lag and I am not running anything extra that I know of.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks.

[Q] Alerts for every email?

I bought my Moto360 a few days ago, and I love every bit of it but one thing.
The way I have my email set is to alert me once for each folder/label (gmail). This way, when I am in a meeting, and get 15 emails, I get the alert for the first only, and not each email. This is specifically important because I have a folder setup to receive emails from various cameras and security system components in my home when I am not there, however, my wife works a floating schedule, so on the days she is home, I get a few hundred. This wan't a problem as I would only get one alert, and then the count would just continue going up, but no further noise or vibrate.
Now since my wife is home most of this week, the Moto360 goes off every other minute with email updates from my security system. This is particularly annoying, and I'm sure it has an impact on battery life.
Is there any way to change this setting? I don't want to block these alerts all together, or the application. I would just like the same settings I've been accustomed to with gmail.

So Gmail on your phone only alerts you once, but the watch alerts you each time? I would have thought that the watch would only alert when the phone does, since it pushes the alert to the watch...
Or am I not understanding?
That is correct. The watch vibrates for each and every email, and lights up. Gmail vibrates/alerts only for the first unread email in each folder, then just counts for each additional email with no alert.

Edit:
Never mind...
What was the end fix, would like to know?
I haven't found an end fix yet. I would like to, so my watch doesn't go off in the middle of a meeting every 5 minutes, but for now I guess I am just living with it.

You can disable notifications for Gmail on the watch, then download Lightflow from the Play Store and use it to push notifications for Gmail to the watch. It allows you to make notifications that are very customized, including the option to limit them. Just play around with it.
It probably won't do exactly what you want, but will be much better...

That may be an acceptable work around. I'm downloading lightflow now, and will try it out for the next few days.
That's didn't really get me anywhere near where I wanted to be, as it was trying to overwrite alerts for every single application. I'll live with it as it is right now, considering the battery seems to be lasting long enough anyways. Last night, I went for a 3 mile bike ride, and the batter lasted from 6am to 10:45pm, and I was listening to google play music via BT headphones half the day (from my phone, watch was remote).
It does come with a bunch of alerts pre-installed, but you can simply delete them or just fahgettaboudit...
