Why am I getting lags on notifications? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Basically it started happening before this release anyway but for example messages other than sms come late, like from whatsapp or tinder, wechat, etc. Mail application never notifies me of any email unless I bring it to the front and it checks that time. I set the checking time to every 15 mins so it's not me.
It's really annoying because it's not speed lag but notification lag and I am not running anything extra that I know of.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks.

[Q] Skype notifications constantly vibrating

Recently got this phone (HTC Desire), which I love, except for one small problem. Every skype message I receive causes my phone to vibrate. I've messed around with every possible setting in skype itself and my phone it won't turn off. It won't vibrate if I'm actively looking at the chat, but if I'm not; it will vibrate for every message sent to me. This is EXTREMELY annoying as it eats up my battery really fast.
Here's the part I'm confused with: if my phone isn't on vibrate and I receive a message, there wont be a sound, which is what I've set up for it to do. But if I then switch my phone to vibrate, it will start vibrating if I receive messages.
I really hate having to sign out of skype on my phone if I want to engage in a lengthy chat on my PC.
I am SO lost. Is there something stupid I'm missing?..There must be
Running stock 2.2 rooted
Would installing a custom ROM give me a workaround? If so, any suggestions?
Big thanks to any and all help <3
It really sucks - I need to keep skype closed since I receive chat messages often. I can only open it to make a call and then I close it again. I can not receive incoming calls that way.
That really needs to be fixed.

[Q] Massive lag for a single contact on stock SMS app

This started happening pretty much immediately since I installed the 4.4.3 update late July, and has just gotten worse.
For a single one of my contacts, the SMS app lags HORRIBLY whenever I am doing anything with said person. It takes about half a minute just to load when I click his name, and the phone keeps completely freezing for up to 10-15 seconds EACH letter I type! It's not just the SMS app itself, but even the keyboard freezes up and is unresponsive. I can keep typing and it will apparently actually record the next 30 or so taps and just blaze through them ... then lag for another half minute or so again. None of the settings (how little there are) have had any effect. Once I click send the message also takes a bit before it appears and starts to send. Any action with this contact open in the SMS app seems to lag my phone like a unusable nightmare.
Since this is the person I tend to text the most, I have been tempted to crush the phone in my hand at this point. It is ONLY happening with them, and ONLY after the 4.4.3 update. It's not consistent either; I was still having this issue earlier today, but right now as I wanted to text him again it was working perfectly lag-free.
I know the first response anyone is going to say is to wipe my phone, but with this being the only issue I have, I really do not want to completely obliterate everything and start over from scratch just to fix one person in my SMS app. On top of that, I want to keep my SMS texting history as well. (Plus I would have no idea if restoring a backup wouldn't also restore the issue).
Has anyone else encountered or heard of anything like this? Or has any ideas of anything OTHER than wiping the phone or my SMS history I can try? Considering the app only pre-loads the last 10 or so messages when you open a contact anyway, I highly doubt it's my history. I am going nuts with this stupid thing.
It is probably something in that message thread.
Deleting all messages from that person will surely fix it, based on what you've said.
You can try wiping the messaging apps cache. Other than that, I think you're stuck.
Second the opinion above. If it's only one message thread doing it, seems likely it's something unique to that thread. Too many messages, pics, etc. I used to use Titanium Backup to save messages between rom flashes, back when I cared about them, so a backup app can save the messages, let you delete the thread and see if it still happens with a blank slate.

Push notifications no longer being sent

This started happening like 2 nights ago, and I thought it might solve itself but it hasn't. My phone no longer receives notifications. It alerts when I get text messages and calls and alarms and whatnot but notifications from apps do not happen. It is weird sometimes and sends a stray notification from Bleacher Report, but it doesn't receive all the Bleacher Report notifications. The same thing happens with Gmail. Any idea what is going on here? I'm on the TMobile LG variant with stock, not rooted.

Delay between GCM push received and actual notification.

Hello,
I'm using the Google Play Services debugger to debug why my notifications are delayed (we are talking 10 to 200 seconds delay).
Turns out my phone RECEIVES the push INSTANLTY, however, it takes a few seconds to a few minutes for my phone to display the actual notification. That's for Gmail, facebook, whatsapp, anything.
Any ideas what it could be?
I'm on the latest build (well, not the May one).
Nobody knows?
Did you solve your problem? As I’m having the same problem and I don’t know what to do, tried everything...

Question Question of notification..... again...

Hello everyone,
I know that my has always had problems with notifications on MIUI, but with the update to 12.5.1 the problems on my Poco f3 have increased, greatly increased, some apps like gmail receive notifications with huge delay, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes even 30 minutes, sometimes only when I use the app, almost randomly
This is unacceptable to me, I need the smartphone for work and I cannot receive notifications with such high delays, do you also have this problem?
Now, gmail has never been perfect with notifications due to the absurd power saving system (Doze), the problem is that I am forced to use it because the corporate mail is google business and it cannot be configured with any other mail client, but the notification problems are there with all the apps.
Practically the smartphone does as it wants, sometimes notifications arrive immediately sometimes ...... when he decides.
Clearly I have configured the power management, automatic start (on gmail it is not possible), app lock from the home screen etc etc, everything useless....
So I ask, do I have to change my smartphone? , or in extremis I try to put a custom rom? is the doze system active on custom roms?
thanks for all your answers
First of all, try to factory reset your phone. And let see if everything start to work or stay the same.
Since on me (running miui ID 12.5.20) everything work just well, there is no delay notification at all. Of course i set up apps ON for "autostart" and set battery behaviour to "no restriction".
