I've seen a picture somewhere that shows the phone displaying "charging rapidly" at the bottom of the lock screen. I think it was on droid life. I'm plugged in with the included charger & cable and it only says simply "charging"... Is something wrong, am I missing something, anyone know?
Found it, here's the picture I'm referring to from droid life:

When plugged what percentage was your battery? If it was close to full 85-99%, I don't think fast charging is on anymore.
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S5.
It might be that the phone needs to be nearly dead in order to take advantage of the quick charge feature.
I was at 27%... That sure as hell seems low enough to be in the area of the curve that's still charges at near maximum rate. I would have expected things to taper off closer to 60%

That is strange. Definitely should say rapidly charging then.

There is probably a set of requirements that need to be met before rapid charge starts, such as how flat or full the battery already is, and it's temperature. Perhaps it was quite warm from use?
I've seen rapid charging once on my Nexus 5, not seen it again yet. Although even if just AC charging, it ticks up pretty fast.

I plugged my phone into a standard plug using a USB a to c and it said charing rapidly... I thought only USB C plugs worked?

Try another outlet somewhere else. I've found some outlets in my home, like the ones near major appliances, don't have the same current as some other outlets. Just a thought.
Check the amperage of the charger with ampere app from play store. It's been designed exatcly for that.

Interesting to me, though maybe already known:
I could not find my GT10.1 wall charger the other day, so on a whim I tried my Fascinate's wall charger (with GT 10.1 cable). This wall charger seemed to charge the GT 10.1 with no issue.

As should any USB type charger. My iPhone charger and my Jawbone Icon headset charger worked as well but takes longer to charge due to the lower current rating.
Agree with MisterEdF.
I have the same plug with my Nexus S and my Epic. Both WILL charge but it's slow as hell and there's definitely the Red X letting me know that it's not the 5v2a charger the tab would like to see. Can't see why the Fascinate charger would be any different...
I believe that is a .5a charger and our tabs come with a 2a. The most it really can do is slow the battery drain. It'll take at least 4x the amount of time to charge.

I dunno. Over a ~couple hour period the battery went from 24% to ~50%. Not as fast as the stock charger, but certainly not zero.

It will slow the drain if you are using it but if you simply want to charge it over night it should be fine in a pinch.

And so will the B&N Nook Color charger. Essentially, any one will work but the standard, lower capacity ones might take forever to charge. The Nook Color charger provides ~1.9A @ 5 Vdc in place of the more standard sub-1 Amp chargers.
Bought a magnetic cable from ebay, which had all the sony retail boxing but the build seemed cheap. After a week usage, I am noticing terrible charging rate. Having kept my phone over night for charging, I still see only 5-10% increase. But when I switch to USB Cable, it charges noticeably faster (Quick Charge)
So to verify that the cable had issue, I installed this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manor.currentwidget
Would like to know to how much charging current do they get on USB and on Magnetic Cable.
Mine are as follows.

I had the same effect once but it never happened again. I noticed the magnetic charger was charging extremely slowly but the issue went away after I had fully charged the Z1C and it never came back again :S.
You've probably checked, but make sure the magnetic charger is sitting properly in the connector?

The easiest way to check is to install elixir2 and check how high is value. In my case my magnetic cabel charge fast as normal usb cabel. Average speed of charging about 800-900mah when i do something on phone. Original charger can provide 1500mah so when you use your phone you must 1500-that what phones need=charging value. I had another magbetic cabel earlier and it charge terribly slowly. But new one works gr8.

Same here, got a cheap cable from eBay and keeping the screen on decreased the battery status quicker than it actually charged. 5-10% over night. Different cable, all fine. I even modified the contacts of the first cable to ensure a proper connection but that also didn't help. Some cables are just trash. Now I ordered another two of the second cable and they also work fine, same charging speed as via USB.
Just got my Nexus 5X today. I realize that Quick Charge 2.0 chargers won't work properly with the device but I'm seeing very slow charging speeds using the charger and cable that came with the device.
From 10%, my phone took 15 minutes to charge another 7% and says it will take almost 2 hours for a full charge. Definitely not what I was expecting.
Anyone else having issues?

Tried charging it again today from 10%. 10 minutes later, I had 15%, and 30 minutes later, 30%. Certainly doesn't seem to be charging at the correct rate to me.

It's it possible there's an option for fast charging that you unchecked? I know there's such an option on the Note 4 for example.

No such option that I know of. It indicates that it is charging rapidly but doesn't actually do that
I'm having the same issue with the included charger/cable. I've yet to see "Charging rapidly" like this picture below...
Make sure you are plugging the cable in all the way, there is an audible click and if it isn't a bit of a struggle to unplug it then it isn't in all the way.

It won't charge at all if the cable isn't snapped all the way in. I just checked it again. Mine is definitely not charging correctly. Google support told me to hard reset the phone. I think I'm just going to hold off until I get my 6P and return this one
What is exactly do they mean re: "hard reset". I'm half tempted to make them send me a new unit given how damn long it took me to get everything setup. Purely out of spite, screw resetting the current phone. That's like when you call the cable company and they tell you to unplug your box and plug it back in. Christ, that pisses me off.

Hey guys,
Has anyone else noticed decreased performance of QC3.0?
I was sitting at home today and noticed the phone estimated 38 mins to get from 46% to full charge which seems a little longer than usual. I swear it used to be much quicker.
Thanks
I don't get your Problem?

It's always taken me 60 Minutes to go from 45% to 100%
It's slower once you hit ~80%, where it starts charging more around 5v 2A. Perhaps your cable is damaged? Otherwise the phone definitely slows down when it heats up, if you've been gaming on the phone prior to charging it will charge much slower.
You should learn how QC3.0 work first.
when the battery is low, the charger will give more input, but if not, will give a 'normal' input. cmiiw.
for me, sometimes my phone "charging" only, I have to re-plug cable to get "charging rapidly", make sure of that, wait for "quick charger connected" while screen on after seconds of connect cable, or make sure "charging rapidly" is showing "not charging only" while screen is locked.
Thanks for the replies guys.
Just to clear up, basically what I have noticed is that over the 4-5 months I have had my HTC 10 I feel there has been a change in the charging behaviour of my phone. It seems that the phone is taking longer and longer to go from 0% to 100% charge. I am aware of how QC works and that generally you get a nice spike up to 80-90% with the last 10% or so coming on much slower, however what I mean is that the actual total time from flat to full is taking longer - or so it appears.
Using all stock cables and adaptors over here - just curious if anyone has noticed the same thing.
Cheers
Install BatteryLog or batterywidget app and take a log to see how long it takes from 1% to 100%
I've had mine since launch day and I haven't really noticed a difference. I'm a heavy user, no gaming but lots of YouTube for podcasts and reading. I have used the same charger that came with it ever since, and I have a cheap QC 2.0 charger for my car, but I use my official cable for that as well.
My cable is starting to go bad, well, kinda. Sometimes it has a hard time initializating quick charge.
Thanks for the replies guys.
Here is a screenshot I have taken to illustrate what I am referring to.
I will install a battery logging app and report back.
Cheers.

Considering that it takes around 1:30h from zero to full, I think that this is normal? Is it not?
3-4 days ago, it just happened out of the blue. Charging from 70% to 100% took 1.5 hours. I rebooted. Didn't do anything unusual in that time but updated Play Store apps. Just tested it right now - 22% in 43 minutes.
Any ideas on how to fix?

The charging appears to be much slower than it used to be.
I just checked at 45% battery. It says "Charging rapidly," but it is charging at a speed significantly lower than 1% per minute, more like 0.8% per minute. It completely stops "charging rapidly" at higher % of battery. In my estimation, this will charge the phone, 0-100, in about 2h35m. It used to be 1h40m.
I think that either the latest update introduced a bug or my charger/cable/phone usb socket broke.
Usually rapid charging occurs at a lower % and then goes away as the phone reaches a certain threshold. I think if you charge the device at 75% battery level, rapid charging may not happen...I could be wrong though...If this is a bug, then it would be all over Reddit which it's not...so it's very likely that your charger is kaput!
I've had the same issue, although not really looked into why yet.
I was using a charger I had with my 6P because it had a longer cable(official, bought from Google when I had the 6p).
I changed the cable to the plug that came with my XL, and it started fast charging, in fact faster than I have had in months it feels like.
I think they changed something in the latest May security/bug release, i'll be investigating more on my day off from work.

It should be all over Reddit, except I don't use Reddit, therefore it is not
Anyway, the Charging Rapidly does stop after 70%, however, Google algorithm still predicts 1% per minute charging rate. For example, it may say "Charging" (not Charging Rapidly) at 75% and then say in parenthesis - time to full charge 26 minutes (literally happened to me.) It still took well over 45 minutes to charge from that state.
I think there are bugs and issues with the new OS updates with regard to charging.
