Windows 10 Mobile 10549.4 on Lumia 920 - Windows 10 Mobile

Hello guys.
I have a problem.
I've updated NL 920 8.1 to 10549. After upgrade, the entire interface flickered, disappeared or became transparent.
The same problem was with build 10536, hard reset does not help.
I need your help.
Sorry for my bad english language.

I do not need a rollback to windows phone 8.1.
I want to solve this problem

10549 will NOT work normally if you'll install it on any preview build. You HAVE TO rollback to 8.1 to install 10549 properly. And don't forget factory reset just after install. And don't even try to restore phone from cloud, start is as fresh one.

This, 1000x over. You can't just "fix" everything. Sometimes you need to bite the bullet and go back to supported software. Either that, or roll back to the slow ring.

Also using 920 and all is fine, after upgrade to 10549, I thought my phone is dead battery flat, I plug it to charger and then it shows the lock screen. give it at least 20-30 mins for the blank screen and it will be good.

Roll back and upgrade again.

Hi Hdubli, can I have download link please,
http://hidemyass.com/files/xv4GF/ there you can download build 28008 for E100.
The flash for me was alright. Some notes though: the setup of Windows isn't working 100%, it seems to freeze at some point and a dropdownbox wasn't clearly shown. Also, the screen isn't used 100%: pixels at the side aren't used. Also, there seems to be a margin for the letters, as some letters at the edge (still in the active area though) seem to fall off.
edit: seems like something went wrong. I get the top bar showing the icons, but the yellow/orange Windows logo doesn't disappear. Have to do a hard reset I guess.
edit2: did a hard reset and this time I disconnected the phone from computer. Everything worked fine now, except that the outside pixels (about 5 on each side) are still not used. But the dropdownboxes all showed alright and it booted alright and installed extrom alright . Sry for the confusion, very good job on the ROM! Will test some more .

Hmm there is a problem with ActiveSync: the device doesn't always want to connect. The computer says it is not connected, but the device says it is. After some time or after trying to disconnect, the device just freezes. Annoying .
edit:.
Man hate this. It's really the device, tried 3 computers and they all refuse the connection. They say connecting and then disconnected, while the device thinks it's connected. Really odd, as it worked flawlessly before! Did a clean install and still not working!

Bro, this is bug issue, never flash your ROM before you ensure you get your original WWE ROM as default.....
Most importan part, no one is response when my first post, and "they" always told to "flash it, any problem is advise". <--- this part is very funny.
Not sure what you mean calvin, but anyway I reflashed with this custom ROM and it works again. No clue what changed, as a clean boot didn't help. But I'm happy again. And in case something happens, I still have the original ROM so not much risk for me.
edit: ooh no not again. After the first night, it was screwed again. Can't connect anymore :S. Hmm maybe I should go back to default then

Are You using Xp, Vista or else?
Can You check if ActiveSYnc is disconnected when screen goes black (timeout on backlight)? Don't let that Windows Mobile adjust backlight but set it!
In my case never found this kind of problem, but I see in various forum that 6.5 build in some case goes with this problem, for example I got that situation with Vista and with original rom 21840 build.
Apologies for the slightly off topic post, but I don't suppose you guys know of any updated ROMs for the beTouch E200 do you? Would like to get an updated version of WM6.5 on this thing...
The problem is that the computer (tried both Vista and Windows 7) doesn’t connect, while the device says it is connected. Then nothing happens, except that the device freezes after some time or says that any program I want to run isn’t a valid PPC application :S. After a reset everything is fine again, except that I can’t use activesync. This both happens with USB and Bluetooth connection. The connection is also lost when I power off the phone manually. But that rarely happens: it always freezes before I even get to that point and then it doesn’t respond to anything.
Also, when I unplug the device before it freezes, I get an ARM error saying I need to go to some specific memory address or ARM will break. If I go to that address, the phone freezes with screen off, if I let the ARM break (what the...?!) it freezes with screen on .
I just flashed back to original ROM. The first sync is alright. If it stays alright, then definitely the custom ROM can be 'blamed'. If no further is heard, then everything is fine again with original ROM.

No need to downgrade as no firmwares are available in test mode.
I'm assuming (can't verify though) that changing the appropriate registry key will enable test mode just as any previous versions. If it doesn't, then Samsung has probably abandoned test mode entirely, and there's really no point in being able to enable it.

Test mode still exists, they only removed the key combination and renamed the registry key. If you edit the registry, you can still enable test mode. The value has to be under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\FUS, be named "Setting_1" (formerly "FUS_TEST"), of type REG_DWORD and needs to be 1 for test mode and 0 for normal mode.

Alas, just the opposite, mine had been working just fine in W7/64 and this latest update seems to have killed itself, and now downgrading/uninstall/reinstall/windows restore all results in a crapped out Kies.

Shield Oreo

It's possible that it comes today/tomorrow at some point!!
Source: https://twitter.com/nvidiashield/status/913265527480475648
Yes, major speculating here, but usually Nvidia is very very quick with updates. SO let's all hope and pray. This COULD also be the Nvidia Spot announcement/availability.
Tomorrow 29th or today 28th. Their message is very cryptic. Google Assistant was just released for Nvidia Shield TV! Not Oreo unless they have their own announcement since Assistant one was by Google
Apparently some people are updating to Oreo already. But it looks like US only. :crying:
edit...not Oreo

Just got the update. But it failed to install. It downloads the update and restarts the shield, but never finishes the install. Stops at about 20% on the Android System Update Screen then restarts back to the home screen asking if I want to install the Experience 6.0 update. Is it because I'm rooted? I don't have TWRP installed but I do have superuser installed....Tried 3 times.

Got #root#?!
If so, well there's your problem. You can NOT update in the conventional way once your rooted. In short you'll have to first download, and use fastboot, to flash the last 5.0.x Recovery For (Chiefly Recovery, System, and Vendor), and then most likely as not do a full system reset. Which if your unfortunate to be doing this on a Pro. Will mean about roughly 2.5h's+ of downtime. Before you'll then need to worry about the latest Update.
Unfortunately I keep telling myself to never root the damned thing again. 'Cause this IS a huge PitA! but, somehow I never learn.

Alas One does NOT just remove root on the Shield. And, sadly 'cause of it. The only way I know of to be rid of it is flashing a new (Clean Recovery OS), and then factory resetting it fresh for the "New OS" to actually get written. Otherwise root seem to longer like a bad smell on the Shield.
And, now an aside...
Where is all this scuttlebutt about Oreo (Cookie), coming from?
Having done the above... (Sigh again!) I just finished wrapping up that part of the Install. When it occurred to me to check the Version... Which is still Android 7 (e.g. Nougat), so unless someones getting something I'm not. Then, this is not the Chocolate Wafer Cookie your looking for....
Which begs a different question. Why are they calling this "Experience 6..x", and not 5.x.x?

I don't know about any Oreo update, but I updated to the new release without doing any data reset. Simply boot to fastboot and flash the downloaded system.img, boot.img, and recovery.img. No need to clear data. Then in the system you can install the OTA as normal and re-root using TWRP and Magisk/SuperSu.

how to downgrade to android 6

hi
I have an HTC 10 Nougat 7.0 v2.41.401.4
phone is unlocked and S-ON
It's camera stopped working so I googled and I did a lot of work (clearing cash ,master reset , .....)some told it might be a software problem so there is a chance by downgrading to Android 6 and camera might work!
how could I do that?
I'm not professional at this would you please explain with detail?
Is there any official Rom higher than mine(v2.41.401.4 )?

I don't see how that would fix your issue, but in any case the only way to downgrade to 6.0 would be to pay for S-Off first.
You could try running the ruu for your current version and see if it helps. It would restore your phone to a fully virgin state.
I really dont know how could it help (downgrading)but some people who had same problem told downgrading to android 6 helped camera came back!

You don't really need TWRP to clear cache.
To do that, you go to setting -> Apps -> Camera
Click on Storage, at the very bottom, there is clear data and clear cache buttons. <You want to back up all your pictures before clearing anything!>
A factory reset will also do the same thing, but that would erase everything on the phone.
Both the steps assume something in the software is messed up, and you are returning the phone to virgin state to start over.
Clearing cache/data in camera app resets the app in case some setting is messed up. Factory reset should restore all settings of the phone to default, get rids of all added apps, etc. More drastic step is to reinstall the firmware in case it is corrupted. You can do that with TWRP if you have a nandroid backup, or use an RUU from HTC.
(I downloaded TWRP for HTC 10 -one file about 30 MB- and after installing through twrp I wiped all cash and after reboot camera came back also with auto focus problem and bad picture quality)
well only it was OK for one hour and after that camera gone!!!
Its a hardware problem
All things done by me was useless !!!
I recommend you send it to HTC support (warranty)
and don not waste your time like me!!!

Oh that's weird. That shouldn't happen, Nokia probably messed up.
Hi Nokia 8.1 users.
Did you also lost fast charging after update to A11? MY phone i charging very slow now and drain very fast
Dear all.
Just bought a used Nokia 8.1.
When I started it up, I did reset it to factory then attached it to the wifi (no sim yet) it updated to 11 (was still on 9). TBH I pushed yet without even realizing straight away.
There is no fingerprint option anywhere
At first I freaked out that the phone is a dud but I've seen multiple forums everywhere mentioning this problem but no solution works (multiple restart including safe mode, with or without screen lock setup, complete factory reset etc). The most obvious one is this one:https://community.phones.nokia.com/discussion/59389/fingerprint-option-missing
Should I give up and try to return the phone? (HArd - I'll probably have to go through paypal process) ?
Is it worth trying to install a custom rom? Could I downgrade to 10 or even 9?
Is there a command line query or even a dial code I could use to know whether it is a hardware issue or a firmware issue? If the former, I should definitively return it. IF the latter - then it would be unethical to actually return it
THX a lot
You guys know how to downgrade nokia 8.1 from android 11 to 9? Im having a lot of issues in android 11. thanks in advance
