HELP HARD BRICKED my LG G4
At the time I did and ended Downgrade process seemed that all ends well but the device was turned off and no longer enciendio not give anything the PC screen or only recognizes the device as QHSUSB_BULK to find and install the drivers recognize the device with the name Qualcomm HS-USB QLoader 9008 (COM13):crying::crying::crying:
Thanks for taking the time to read the post and I hope you are taking the time to read this, and you can help me solve this brick on my lg g4:good:
any solution? :crying:
As far as I know there is no fix if you attempted to downgrade your bootstack...sorry. There is a bold lettered post warning not to attempt a downgrade. Hopefully you can get a replacement through your carrier but they may deny it if they can figure out what you did.
it is not known whether there will be any solution as lg LG G2 or G4?
I sent mine in to LG repair and about a week later got it back fixed and flashed to 81110N under warranty.
Took about 8 days total.

Bingo! there is no such thing as a hard brick if you got the right equipment.
How much did they charge to repair it ?

Under warranty = No Charge
(or at least did in this case)
Just tell tmo to send you a replacement under warranty for $20. They'll pay for shipping both ways.

I had not heard of that service. Nice.
But, I actually wanted my particular phone back. I don't have any of the problems some others have reported with wonky screens, messed up batteries, wifi issues or whatever some folks have experienced and I did not want a refurb nor even take a chance with another new unit. If I experienced any of these issues, I'd have been all over this for the quick turnaround.
Also, I bought mine outright and am a prepaid customer. TMO's official answer to our service requests is: Suck a big pink ****...go to lg

Yeah but don't they check the device and discover you just voided your warranty ?
Even then it isn't the end of the world, these guys have the tools to fix it.

I have a serious problem. My tmobile g2 is rooted and has virtuous rom installed. It worked fine for a week but then all of the sudden it died. Completely shut off as I disconnected phone from the charger. Now I can't get the phone to turn on. I have tried volume down and press power button. No response. I took out the battery and sd card and put them back in. No response. I even tried battery from a different g2 phone. still the phone refuses to turn on. Did I brick my phone or what?
I bought the phone on craigslist so I can't go to t-mobile for a solution.
I have just spoken to HTC repair line and given them all my info. They have asked me to send in the cell for a repair. If the cell has no out-of-warranty damage then it will be free. Now the problem is, out-of-warranty damage also includes modifying the software in the cell. Now mine is rooted and has a custom rom on it. You guys think they will find out or care to find out? I mean the phone is totally dead and will not boot up at all.
Please give solution before I sent it in. Is there anything I can do on my part to revive the cell? thanks.
It is really depends on your luck!!
maybe the phone is totally **** and they will give you a new one so will not
know it was rooted .or maybe they can fix it and will find out!!
this is a long shut but try to connect it to your computer and see if you can
you ADB shell by any chance??

Then how will tmobile be able to find out...
I bought a motorola cliq off craigslist and it had scratches so I called tmobile and returned it for a remanufactured one np. They don't know where u got it, u may be the original owners family member... there is a 1 year warranty from tmobile from the purchase date from tmobile. They don't care who u are, unless u were dumb enough to tell them u got it off craigslist....

Umm, I am not sure if its that simple. I remember we took a phone to tmobile for repair and they asked for receipts etc. It seems each telephone is registered to your name in your account and they know if this phone belonged to you or not. So lets see, I will try it and see if they can help me out. I will play dumb.
Thanks for the help.

if its that simple? I wasnt saying this is how it "should" happen. I said this is what happened with me. I dont understand why they would treat you any differently. They have a manufacture warranty for a year, fact.
But you are right, just play stupid... they should swap u out.
I swapped the cliq right when i bought it and then i swapped it again about 2 months ago (a week before the year was up). Swapped it then bought my wife a g2. so we have a brand new (remanuf) cliq in the closet just in case.
I sent my phone back to the LG repair centre to fix the wifi module but they wont because of the unlocked bootloader. In their accompanying letter they said their out of warranty repair centre could fix it. I called them but they said no.
Now I can live without wifi but when I got the phone back I cant even get pass the initial start-up to use the phone as it cant use my data connection as the sim is only showing one bar and no lte/3g signal. They seemed to have broken the sim slot. I have flashed a kdz to see if it would help but no change. I have tried two sims but to no avail.
Anybody any ideas or are their any repair centres that could fix this in the UK?
Thanks
Would I be locked out of the phone at the minute as I didnt remove my Google account before I returned my phone to LG? Clutching at straws here. Very frustrating as I have an expensive paperweight.
Bummer mate. Sorry to hear that.
But if i remember correctly there should be warranty for the hardware compounds. Or everything can be tied to a unlocked bootloader.
"Hey the usb is toast because unlocked BT"... That's bull.
Better try to get some help from a local repair center. It would not be cheap or you get lucky and you get your phone up and running in no time.
Good luck.
Oh WOW! I just flashed the latest MM kdz using LGUP and I immediately got a full LTE signal. I dont know how but its working. Very very happy!

Yeah I read that if its less than 6 months old and if its a hardware fault it should be fixed under warranty. I will try and get it fixed elsewhere. Not contacting LG again. Just so happy I got it working again. Going to buying a Nexus 6P as a Xmas pressie to myself so just going to use this until then. I have had to use a HTC One M7 for the last three weeks while working in London. Broken charging port and battery not lasting a day. My boss wasnt happy as he needs to contact me but my M7 was always off lol.
Have a good weekend m8!

Before I do a KDZ, since I'm in a boot loop, I have a question.
Will I lose my data if I do a normal KDZ per this thread? -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
I have family photos and videos I want to keep. Factory reset fails, as does Wipe Cache from the Recovery screen.
I can get into Download/Firmware/Fastboot mode.
I was simply taking a picture today and it just shut off and now is stuck in a bootloop. I was 11A, rooted and had xposed on it.
THanks,
Evo
How did you get into a boot loop? You were on 11A, so what version are you planning to KDZ?

KDZ didn't work, however it did get the recovery back to Official from Modified, and now VZW is sending me a new phone
Make sure you don't have any dings on the housing or VZW will charge you $500 and say you dropped the phone or some BS like that.
I found it safer mailing back to LG but that took 2 weeks to process.

I'm in the same boat in a way. Did vzw actually send you a brand new one or a refurb? Considering Sprint acknowledged this as a hardware defect that's widespread I think vzw should issue new, recently assembled hardware revisions as replacements.
Trying to figure out how to best approach them about it.

With my experience, VZW sends refurbs 99% of the time which is BS considering my phone was only 3 weeks old and past the 14 day rule. Can't complain though since I did the whole Verizon LG G4 money maker deal and got this for free anyways...

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you go the VZW "trade-in for refurb" route, you're refurb phone will have a new IMEI. This may be an issue if you decide to leave VZW within the warranty period. If your IMEI doesn't match your receipt, LG may not honor the warranty.
I had this issue with a Samsung phone and Samsung didn't honor the warranty so I was SOL.... Lesson learned...
Hi everyone. As we know some of our phones died due to bootloop cause of defective motherboard (or something). I have already had rooted and bootloader unlocked H815. Bootloop did not happen to me but i want to know that if it happen, will i loose warranty cause of bootloader unlocked device?
That's correct. No warranty. Even though unlocking has nothing to do with faulty motherboard or faulty ota or whatever broke it. Anyway i'm thinking that its impossible that lg not knowing the certain action thats triggering the bootloop and could release a patch or something to prevent it.
I took mine to the Sprint store when mine went into boot loops and they replaced mine free of charge. They were aware of the motherboard situation, the only downside was I had to wait for them to ship mine in which was only a few days.

They are both correct.
It depends where the device was purchased.
In the US, if purchased from a carrier they will normally replace through insurance or if still in warranty. I assume this may be the same worldwide, if purchased directly from carrier (I'm sure I will be corrected, if this is not so )
If you purchase the device outright (Ex. eBay, swappa online store) you are responsible for the service charge. UNLESS the online store offers some limited warranty.
LG will NOT simply replace/repair without proof of purchase.
Hello , When you send a lg phone for service with issue in motherboard(aka bootloop issue) and they replace it.Service guys associate the new imei and serial number with the old ones ? So if 2 year warranty is over but the new mainboard is much newer, in case of another issue ,for example screen flickering, could we send to it another service center and just don't tell them that the mainboard is replaced?

If im not mistaken it should be from the time they send it back the waranty should basicly be reset. Again if im not mistaken
There have been users send there g4 in multiple times over the last couple years. And ive never heard anyone complain of that.
To make things more clear,
Does service keep record globally to lg the mainboard replacement? So can I claim warranty for screen if passed 2 years from the day I bought it but the replaced mainboard serial number says that I have warranty till August of 2018?Maybe somewhere else from the service shop where I sent it for the bootloop issue because they will not know that mainboard is replaced.
Thanks.

Ill thank that response. That is a very good ? I would like to know that myself.
I was always under the assumption tbat yes any time u send a device in on a waranty and a poce with any kind of serial nums gets replaced the new serial is the new waranty date. I dont think the old imeis are any good any more as people with locked bootloader try to use old unlock bins. Have to update theyre device id and imei with lgs unlock site as their old ones arent reconized any more after mb replacement.

No. Your warranty will not extend to "forever" (if we assume you have a repair once a year.. ) or being reset just because something get replaced. I can speak for Europe only but I don't believe that any other country will do it different. Normally all vendors record the device warranty globally because if not they would loose many money. I say I don't believe but only LG knows for sure.
The bootloop issue is another story. This gets even repaired when outside of warranty e.g. in the USA due to the signed law suit. That's why this is not an issue for the most people.
