[Q] Have to manually sync calendar every day - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since updating to 5.1 on my LG G4 I have to manually sync the calendar every day. I go into accounts and sync -> my Google account -> data and sync and find the calendar box is unchecked. I check it and then it works fine for the day. The following day it's unchecked again. Other items there such as app data, Chrome and Gmail stay checked. I'm not turning the phone off overnight. The only think that runs in the evening is Llama but it's only set to turn off Wifi and set phone to silent overnight. Everything used to work in 5.0. Anyone have any ideas?

[q] question about acct syncing

I just switched from an X to the Dinc and I have a questions about the account syncing. In the notifications bar it shows the syncing icon all the time. It never did that on my X. I have all the settings for facebook and twitter etc set to auto sync like normal. even if I manually cancel the sync, it'll start back up in a couple minutes. Any help would be great. Thanks.

[Q] Email Does not sync Automatically

hello everyone
I got the ONE X last night, and I am having a problem in automatically receiving my Emails.
I have set An Exchange Email, Gmail, and Yahoo mail using the device's mail app.
the "Auto-Sync" is Deactivated to save battery and avoid syncing other accounts.
in the mail settings of the Exchange Account, I set the "Peak time Sync" to (Push mail) which means (I guess!!) I would get the Email as soon as it reaches the account.
in the Gmail and Ymail, the Least time available on the "Peak time sync" is 5 minutes.
in either case, I am unable to receive the Emails unless I start the app and manually refresh!!!
the Email reaches Ymail or Gmail on the Laptop, I wait for more than 20 minutes with no notification on the device!
I didn't have this problem when I had the Galaxy SII, and sometimes the Exchange Email reached the device before the Laptop!!
this is very annoying and any suggestion is welcome!
I do not wanna go for the Ymail app from the Market or any other Exchange support app!
NOTE: the Gmail application in the Device behaves the same way,, does not sync until I manually refresh from the app itself
If you want to receive pushed data, auto-sync must be on.

When I had the SGSII I never turned the Auto-Sync On, and I used to get the Emails all the time very quickly!
Both are Android I do now know what is the problem!
Does any one have an idea about this issue??
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
as pa64 said, the emails will not sync with auto-sync disabled
turn it on and turn off auto sync manually for each app you don't want it to sync

I will give it a try. But doesn't this affect the battery life? Which is already not good?

possibly. but you can either turn it on and have push email or leave it off and have to manually check.
afaik auto-sync is a system wide switch for all updating. if you manually turn it off for everything other than mail only mail will be polling for updates. and there was some stuff a couple of years ago (with the iphone) that seemed to conclude that push is actually pretty battery efficient.

GMAIL Sync Issue

Stock ROM, Gmail stopped syncing. No more email comes in unless I manually go and hit refresh in the Gmail app, or go to settings and force sync it. This just started happening. Have the phone for almost a month without any issues, then as of say an hour ago, it just stopped syncing emails. No error messages in the sync menu. Normally if there is an issue with sync, there is a red exclamation mark stating an issue, but there isn't any. It just shows that Gmail was last synced at the last time I manually synced it.
Any thoughts?
Upon further testing, I see that Gmail does have an active connection to the server. If I mark an email unread in Gmail, it immediately reflects on the Gmail client in the Note II. If I send a test email, my Gmail.com shows the new email, but the Note II Gmail app does not until I manually sync it. It's very weird.
Clear data. Should work.
also you might try opening up your settings in gmail, and go through those settings. There is an option there to have gmail sync on or off. I was going to suggest clear data in the gmail app, but that already been suggested.
I used to have this problem frequently on my last phone. I never found a permanent fix but did notice that somehow the settings in gmail would change by themselves and gmail sync on/off was one of them as well as the one where you can decide to let it notify you for every email or just once for the initial email.

+1 -- usually fixes issues.

Emails do not auto-sync

I've noticed that after I wake up, my new emails are not showing up. When I check my email app it says "last synced yesterday at x:xx". Right now I have it set at peak hours 6am-10pm 7 days a week refreshing every hour. I have checked my email at hours after i wake up at 7 and it will update when I open it. Afterwards it will sync every hour as normal. I think this is only happening when it's trying to come back from off-peak hours (which is set to never sync).
I've tried removing all accounts and deleting all app data but to no effect. My auto sync is on for everything including under settings > data usage. One thing I have noticed is that when you go to settings > email > [my account], the "last synced" time is different than if you go into the email app and see the "last synced" time.
I cant confirm but does not seem to be happening to my gmail account.
Anyone else having this issue?
Specs:
-T-889 on 7105 international rom by teshxx, dalvik/cache wiped.
-yahoo IMAP email
-no battery savers or anything that touches auto sync
Your probably saving battery
If your Gmail isn't syncing it probably isn't draining your battery, just saying.

I do not have any problems with my gmail app..
In case anyone still has issues with this, I've found the solution. For incoming settings for yahoo mail you must use samsung.imap.mail.yahoo.com, I was only using imap.mail.yahoo.com which caused my phone (for some reason) to not sync initially when entering peak hours.

[Q] Gmail push quit working

The phone synced just fine the first day with push now I have to manually refresh gmail to sync the mail. I have gone throughout the phone to find every place to select auto-sync etc and it will no longer work.
