Does the Defy have internal coating to protect from water?

Hey guys, does the defy have a coating on the PCB and stuff inside to protect itself from water or is the only thing preventing water from entering are the port covers? So if the port covers are worn out or missing the phone would no longer be water resistant?
In short: No, it hasn't got any coating...
And it's not only the port covers. There's a watertight sealing around the battery and the speakers are also watertight.
In fact, the former IP67 certification, when it comes to water, covered only 10 minutes (or was it 30?) in a maximum depth of 1m, when the water temperature didn't differ more than 5°C from the temperature of the phone...
I washed my Defy under flowing water a few times and i don't mind using it in heavy rain. But I would never put it under water, as I don't know how much the port covers wear overtime...

Defy housing sucks water resistant reassembling almost impossible

Yesterday I tried to change the housing of my defy. After watching some disassembling videos I started. Conclusion: To get the Defy water resistant after the intervention is an illusion. First most of the plastic screw noses were broken. They are really too fragile for a phone which will fit the IP67 standard. For replacing them you have to change the whole front housing. But with changing it you either have to buy a front housing together with the touch screen or you have to replace the touch screen which means you have to glue booth parts (front housing with touch screen) together!
Second the screws are a shame the reusing of them is a gambling game moreover they are setscrews within plastic. Screw heads wear out really fast because to soft material.
In the third place most of the parts are firmly connected with the housing, eg. the LED light, a few seals, some sheet metals, etc. Most of them you have to inherit to the new housing because of the lack within the new housing. With that in mind water resistance is gone, too.
Conclusing: The Motoroly Defy is a disposable device. The repair is too expensive (not even in money) and water resistance isn't guaranteed either. So buying a new phone or a barely used one is far easier than to try a repair of the old one. Too bad, but thats the way of market economy.
the front housing is indeed too expensive to be worth replacing. they replaced mine on warranty after i purposely damaged the touchscreen from the inside without leaving any trace. the rest of the housing is very cheap. about the side screw ears they are indeed too fragile and you may need to reinforce them from the inside by supergluing some paper that acts as fiber and then carefully sandpaper the excess so you can mount it back. you must lubricate the pink rubber seal from the inside with a little silicone oil to make it adhere better to the middle housing. also you have to lube the seal from the back cover to make it regain its elasticity. the lock from the back cover also has to be tighten by pressing with a heated spoon on its solder point. the usb seal usually gets too loose and cannot be fixed without replacing the whole middle housing.
i did all of this to experiment with it but the truth is this is too troublesome for most people and not worth the time or money.
Are You sure that oil used to lubricate the seals will not damage the rubber?

[Q] Where are the water damage markers?

Where are the water damage markers or stickers located? Everything I've read says they are behind the flaps but I only see white plastic shell of the flap. There is nothing that looks like a sticker either inside the flap or in the ports on the body of the phone. Sorry to ask like a retard but can someone post a photo showing where the water damage stickers are?
White paper by the sim card gets red.
Sorry for my English.

[Q] change screen still waterproof

few days ago I broke the screen of my Z1C, I bought a new one with glue adhesive, does anyone know if doing a good job my Z1C after changing screen will still be resistant to water
I would say that logic dictates if it was water proof before, and you do as you say "a good job" then it should be water proof afterwards.

Nano coating available off the shelf?

Are there any products like this that OEM's use in ma ufacturing to coat the boards and inside of phone or like the, I think, liquipel, where you send your phone e off to be coated professionally. Only type of spray I've found is for leather and fabric really. Nano sprays and products like Scotchgard and vinylex. Anything for electronics commercially available? I've double coated the outside of phone with rain x but that was more for substituting oleophobic coatings. I dont need absolute waterproofing but would like enough protection if I had to use my phone in a moderate rain I could, if touchscreen allowed with the raindrops and all.

For consumers in a spray bottle? Or is that some consumer grade chamber to gas the phone with nano coating like some companies do?

I highly doubt it's going to be a consumer DIY. I'm thinking it's the chamber deal like it was before, send it in & they send it back to you... A DIY product would be amazing!!!
This phone can be opened up. But even if we couldn't get into the innards with the 20 screws, it would still be nice to tape the sim/sd card slot, camera and battery contacts and spray the whole phone. I've already double coated the outside of my phone with rain x but that just makes water run off easier and bead. I'd like a little more resistance. Not a big deal though. Just knowing the tech is out there I would like to take advantage. But do it myself.
Wouldn't coating the internal components change their heat dissipation capabilities?
With a nano coating I doubt it would be noticeable. Some of the water resistant phones like Motorola are nano coated and don't hear issues of those overheating.
