Asking from others that have had experience with Moto 360 replacements... how long does it take, how hard was it, and do you send the original back? How does it work?
I've been getting random shutdowns for the last few months. Sometimes I feel like it's triggered by lots of vibrating on the watch, but no correlation to battery level, most of the time it's in the 60% percentage. I've done a factory reset and deleted and uninstalled and reinstalled android wear on the phone several times, and it always fixes it temporarily...
How hard was it to get a replacement? Thank you in advance!
I sent mine a week ago (Friday) because there were blue spots on the screen. Moto got it Monday, sent a new or like new one Tuesday (I think new) and I got it Thursday.

Did you have Moto's expended warranty, or did they cover it free under their standard warranty, or did you have to pay?

I got my One X over a month ago and all was good. My nephew dropped the phone last week and the phone screen got scratched quite a bit and the phone started playing up. WiFi kept dropping, software freezing. So since I still had insurance with my network I ordered a replacement. I received the replacement yesterday and when I pressed down the the sides of the phone I could see ripples all the way to the top of the screen. I called up and got a replacement for the replacement and it arrived today. Phone was completely drained in battery :S but I let it charge and then tested out the screen. Flex is still there but slightly less. This one is much more usable the the other but I was wondering, will it get worse? Do not remember this problem on my old one. Is it worth getting another replacement or should I stick with it?
Thank you
(1st was HT24, 2nd was SH24, 3rd is HT24)
And now I found a bright white pixel on the screen :crying: I'm seriously considering asking for another, but I'm dreading how bad that one will be.
I do also have a flex on my HOX. I own it already for 3 month. But it doesn't get worse. I think you should not worry about it.
I have no screen flex unroll I push really hard on ny screen and even then its only where I've pressed doesn't spread across the screen.
I would ask for a replacement but that's just me I take things back for the smallest of issues

See the thing is that the new one I received today shows the flex when I push on the side of the screen but but doesn't spread as much as the 2nd one. Seems to be fine with normal use. I'm just hoping it doesn't get worse as the screen is used more. I have 14 days to get this replacement replaced again so I will let you know how I get on.
Any more views would help!
Thank you

You have 14 days so wait for like 10 then get one anyway might get a perfect one

It doesn't affect it. You won't notice it with day to day use either as you won't be pushing that hard.

I left my Moto 360 on the OEM charger overnight as I often do. When I took it off this morning, this is what I see. I have rebooted and power cycled but no change. Is this something that can be fixed, will Best Buy replace it, or should I contact Motorola? I bought it on September 25.
have you tried a factory reset? looks like your watch face profiles are corrupted.
Thanks, I have rebooted, powered off and on, and reset with no change. Guess it's time to contact Motorola.

If you got the replacement plan thing from BestBuy, yes they will replace it. I've already replaced my first 360. The back side cracked. Was no issue. Since all data is stored/synced from your phone, you won't lose anything. It'll all sync back over.

Since Motorola's warranty is for one year, I didn't bother with the Best Buy replacement plan. I haven't heard back from Motorola yet, but I wonder if Best Buy honors the manufacturer's warranty in house.
Update: I left it off the charger last night. This morning most, but not all of the white cloudy ring was gone! I thought it was all gone, but I can still see it on light screens like the settings screen. Whether it will go away completely is yet to be seen. Apparently nobody else has had this, so if Motorola will replace it, I'll let them.
Doubtful. You may be able to buy the plan now though. I got it because it covers everything except accidental breakage. You can get accidental breakage coverage for like $10 more. But any reason that it stops working other than me breaking it is covered. Plus in 2 years I'm sure you won't be able to get a new one in store and a new model may be out. In that case you'll get $$$ back and can buy the new one.
I may have just lucked out! A Motorola rep called this afternoon to say that my replacement would be delayed because the the silver with black band is out of stock. She offered several alternatives including black with leather or any of the metal band watches. I opted for the silver with the light metal band. She didn't say anything about an extra charge and I forgot to ask, so I hope I just got a free upgrade!
Ok so I bought my silver moto 360 in september of 2014 and fell in love with it instantly. Of course I got the one with the leather band since the metal ones weren't available. It wasn't until January that my moto 360 started to act a little very strange. It would reboot constantly and would get very hot. At one point in time, it would just bootloop till the battery died. So me being the tech geek that I am, I searched the Web far and wide and couldn't find anyone with my similar problem. So I decided to see what motorola would do. They were very understanding of my stress with my device and offered to give me another one but with the cost of withholding $200 dollars on my credit card. Me being broke thought that maybe the moto 360 should just sit for awhile and when I got the money, I would get it fixed. So 3 weeks ago I finally got the money to get my moto 360 fixed. I called motorola and they began the process and withheld my $200 . 4 days after that, I got an email saying that the device I requested wasn't available and they would send me the black one with the black band........so I was like......ummmm I think not. Don't nobody want that black thing. So I called and she explained that the model number that I had was out of stock but the could send me a black one. I explained to her that I just bought a silver pebble steel band and it wouldn't match so she put me on hold and said she would try to help me out......25 minutes later......literally......she got back on and said ," well how about the model number 00421NARTL". I Googled it real quick and seen that it was the silver model, not paying attention to the fact that it comes with the original moto 360 silver band. So I approved and she overnight shipped it. I got my moto 360 and took it out of the shipping package and realized the front of the moto 360 box had a silver band........my heart dropped as I destroyed the tape on the box and behold.........my new moto 360 with the silver band........so I just want to rate there customer service a 10/10 and I like how the dealt with me and my situation just to make me happy. My next phone might be a Motorola phone lol
Great story, but I'm presently going through hell trying to get a refund of $359 for a Gold 360 that I returned weeks ago.
They have pulled all types of shady moves to cheat me, or at least discouraged me from returning a Motorola product ever again.
Beware!
My black moto360 is doing this very same thing... I'm sending it back for another , due to the fact that I charged it fully , pulled it off the charger and went to work. I was there for about 3 hours , and felt a vibration so I checked it. It crashed completely , then got very hot. Now that I have it home , I put it on the charger and it booted back up. I don't trust it now , and my battery life has been very poor for the last few weeks. Honestly , I didnt expect it to even boot up or charge considering how hot it got. Hope I don't end up with someone else's headache.

When i try to start the watch, it seems to get to the watch face, but when i hit the settings, it seems to shutdown, and the only thing i can do is put back on the cradle. If i leave on the cradle it seems to work fine. What i don't understand is i have two of the same watch one black one silver, and the silver works flawless. I am wondering if i have to clear cache, or how do i collect a log of whats happening. I've tried factory reset. uninstalling aw app, nothing seems to work. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
I am getting same thing for last couple updates. Don't even use watch anymore Cuz it just shuts off randomly. Tried clearing everything and reinstalling, etc. No luck so far.
Same thing here, but mine shuts down during my run when I listen music off of it, around 75-80% battery, but works fine when I use it normally, without connected Bluetooth headphones

Sounds epidemic.
How hard was it to get a replacement?
Anybody able to find a fix? TIA
Same problem. At first I figured it was a but that came with an update and would get fixed on the next one. I stopped wearing it for a while. Now, months later, still doing it.
I got the 360 the first day it was available. I'm thinking that I'm probably out of warranty now. Should have placed a complaint when it first happened.
Has anyone found a resolution?

My experience is nearly identical to yours. Bought my Moto 360 on release day, it started having problems about 9 months shutting down. I factory reset, removed apps, eventually upgraded to a different phone, all the problems continued.
When I finally called Moto support, my warranty had expired, but they told me for $100 they'd replace it. I did that and just got my replacement, and I must say it's Awesome. I forgot what it was like to have a smart watch that lasts 18 hours and never shuts down regardless of how much I use it!
So, $100... you can buy a new or refurb Moto 360 for that online, so maybe it's not worth it. It's still a great smart watch IMO though. At this point I feel no need to upgrade to 2nd gen.
For the defects, this appears to be a widespread problem for Moto 360 1st gen. Best of luck to you.
still any solution
Did anyone find solution to this?
I've the same problem. In fact, it won't restart until I put if back in the cradle. On top of that, I no longer get any messaging/email notifications.
Well, about 16 months in to my replacement and it started happening again... OG Moto 360, just like the original. I suppose it's time to upgrade. Still, 16 months for $100 outdated technology smart watch worn every day isn't terrible.
I had the same issue, would randomly shut down and whenever I tried to open an app or settings it would just die. It was the battery, i found a replacement battery on ebay for around $25 replaced it and now it's working as expected.

Wow, seriously?! I just looked, and sure enough the batteries are all over eBay. How difficult was it to replace?
not too hard to replace... Check out the instructions on YouTube... Took me about 15 minutes
Is anyone else having massive battery issues? My 360 dies from 100% in about an hour, and is red hot the entire time. It has become unusable as a result. Seems like this device has gotten a lot of bad rep on battery issues but no one has nailed it down. About to actually throw this thing away but before I do it I'm making one last post on here to see if anyone has ANYTHING I can do.
Did a factory reset, took three times to actually do the reset instead of just rebooting like it was doing. After everything synced up, battery was still draining. I don't really have much of anything installed, battery life is still utter crap and the watch is overheating. To the trash it goes!
theres something very very wrong there , sounds like a app is draining your watch to me, have a look at the wear app on your phone to see if theres anything a miss

Battery stats show no app information. Just says that my battery is going to die in 45 mins from 90%
i would bite the bullet and wipe my phone and watch ..... because its clearly doing something in there
What is the phone doing to cause this? Is it the ROM? I'm on Pure Nexus on the 6P.
Why don't you contact Motorola and ask them for a replacement?
I did when my watch got a crack in the backplate (caused by me doing press ups, whilst wearing it) and they arranged for it to be collected, repaired and re-delivered free of charge.
I was thinking about that but I got it over a year ago so I'm not sure how long the warranty is.
I'm having the same issues, though not as severe as yours. My watch gets about fourteen hours, much less than it used to. I wish there was a place for me to send it to have the battery replaced. I'd send it to Moto, but given their [poor] history of customer service, I'll pass.
It's a shame, really; I like this device, and was thinking of picking up a second one in silver, especially now that the 1st gen prices have dropped as much as they have, but I also don't want to throw good money after bad.
I might just trash this one and get the Asus watch...Moto support was bad from what I read too.

I have a colleague who sent her son's Moto watch in for warranty exchange, and then waited more than three months before they finally told her that it would be a while before the replacement came, and there are numerous stories out there like that. It's really a shame, because it's a nice watch. The ASUS watch is too expensive for my taste, I really don't want to spend that much on it.
The Asus one on Amazon is $150 new. The original Asus watch is $99. Cheaper than the Moto.

Yeah, I kinda want that one but Asus is a solid brand... I dunno.
throw it away, mines been to Moto already for a replacement and a few months later the pixels on the screen are starting to die, bottom right corner is all messed up. Moto are no longer the company they were. Get another watch from a better maker (LG, Huawei)

Yes, I agree with you. Moto simply isn't anywhere near the same company since all the acquisitions, damn shame. I don't really want to spend $300+ for a Huawei or another watch. Guess I'll just use it until it dies completely and then go back to my Gear Live. I like Android Wear, but hate Tizen!
