Hi everyone,
I am a newbie to posting to this forum, although I've been reading this for a long time and using the tweaks suggested with a lot of interest so please bear with me. Sooo... I am struggling to root my new LG G3 d855 (v20f) in order to switch to Cyano as I can't find a viable way to root it through Linux. I have read this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197) but I assume it would only work on Windows machine, as I read a guy had issues in trying to run the script through OS Virtualbox. I tried PurpleDrake (but it wouldn't work on Lollipop, just KK) and most of my acquaintances do not have Windows machines...I do have them just on my workplace but it wouldn't let me install any "foreign" thing (as the LG drivers) without administrator passwords so...I am kind of stuck in the hoods. Has anyone figured out how to root devices like mine on a Linux machine? Thank you very much for your help! :good:

Guide on how to actually use Radiocomm 11.11.11?
I've only seen screen shots for it but it has a lot of options and looks like a really complex program. All I need it for is to simply flash SPRecovery.spf on my phone when I root it. So could anyone link me to a Radiocomm flashing guide or at least tell me what I need and what to do and if I need to do it before or after rooting? Thanks and I've rooted a lot but never changed recoveries, all the one click root apps give me recoveries that I hate such as RA-eris V1.6.2 because they are a pain. I'm manually rooting my Eris [I've already done manual rooting before] and just choose my own recovery and SPRecovery has gotten a lot more kudos than RA-eris v1.6.2 [Amona Ra?] and ClockworkMod. If anyoen also knows of any other recovieres they like better than please let me know, but for now just a good how to guide for flashing with Radiocomm. Thanks a lot in advance guys! =]
Hi There,
I apologize for not having any links off hand, (though i may be able to update int he future).
I know i have ran across a few guides for radiocomm on the internet... Try using Google.com, and keep an eye out for .pdf files..
I am sure you can tinker around in the menu's also... It is a very robust program...
And, just curious... Did you mean to say .SBF file? instead of .spf?
Good Luck
Here You Go,
I found an older manual for Radiocomm... Idk where i found it, or how helpful it may be... but it's a step in understanding...
Good Luck
yep this tool is interresting...
Here is version 11.12.2
Thanks for posting these files but I can't get them to work. They will not find any of my phones. I have the motorola drivers installed and my puter finds the phone but the radiocomm program won't connect, it stays red. I am running windows 7 with motorola 5.5 drivers, net framework 4 is installed. I tried it in compatability mode, the phones are set to pc mode. my phones are a droid 2 global, and two are a bionic. Can someone please help me out?? Thanks!
For all to know.
The low level tools are written for use with WinXP or lower.
Use with a newer Windows in XP-Mode at your own risk.
That's why to keep an old XP machine (or Win2K) on hand.
Good info everyone!!
Here is a backup link to the version epsylon updated us with.. :]

Well technically the most important thing with these kind of programs is the bits. Most of them are written for 32bit OS.
I'm using win8 32bit and all of my tools work fine. Just used Radiocomm today and yesterday to read some info from some older motorolas.
Granted not *everything* will work. I had to use Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0 or newer to get it work right.
5.0.1 or older would BSOD on me when I tried to do too much with the RIM Virtual Serial Port.
How to use this program to enable the FM radio on my Motorola phone? Someone claims to have done this using this program but he's not responding to requests for more information. I've installed the program but don't want to brick my phone. In the past I've messed with other programs like QPST and QXDM to enable additional bands so I'm not an entire newbie. Thank you.

Hello
I have a android phone which seems not to be very famous, therefore it is basically impossible information about how to root it (it is a prestigio pap7600duo).
I wonder if anyone knows any guide about rooting
I am not referring to a tool like oneclick, but to something that explains how the process works, with the problem that can arise, why a device cannot be root at the moment, so that i can try to find to root it.
Does it depend on the processor? on the hardware? on the custom software installed?
I work with linux and i'm a java programmer if this can help, and have a a background in C/C++ development
thanks in advance
Rob
I'm thinking of rooting and possibly putting a custom rom on my AU LGL21 Optimus G, however, the only rooting guides I can find are for either the "international" version or the Docomo version. These guides seem to work in aspects of gaining root access, but apparently wifi stops working after just rooting using those guides(referencecan't post links yet, ask) Japanese, but google translate seems to not slaughter it too bad).
I have a programming background and am quite used to linux, I will not mind trying to even compile stuff by myself as long as there is a safe option for reflashing when it goes wrong. I am not however overly used to android hacking, does anyone know where I should start if I want to try to root it while trying to use other networking firmware etc. to get everything to work?
Also, is it possible to just grab device drivers and firmware from the stock rom? E.g. the LGL21 has a one segment TV receiver not found on the korean model, and it would be awesome if I could somehow get cyanogen or something on it and add in stock firmware for the devices that don't work otherwise.
I'd greatly appreciate ANY help
Thanks.
Hey guys! I am pretty new to a lot of this rooting and custom ROM installs. I recently picked up an Asus TF300T from a friend at work which i have root(the easy part). The reason why i was looking into this or even a laptop was because i wanted to start tinkering with pen testing with Kali Linux. After a lot of research, trying to retain what information i could, i have found there is an image for Kali for armel. This brings 2 questions to mind that i cannot find the answers to. 1 - Even though the CPU on my Asus tablet is ARMv7 will armel images work? From what i have found, i would want to use an armhf image to flash to the device due to the version of the CPU. And 2 - Is there a distro(i have been unsuccessful finding one) that has the drivers required to make a smoothing working environment? During the course of my research into this issue, i have found there are some distributions of Ubuntu that currently work with my tablet. More specifically Ubuntu Touch(i think?). This got me thinking, since both Kali and Ubuntu are both Debian based distros(i could be wrong, please correct me if i am) could i take the section of the file system from Ubuntu Touch that has the drivers for my tablet that allow it to work correctly and replace it with the section of the file system for the ARM image of Kali? I should mention that i have been able to get Kali to install and run with Linux Deploy. However, i feel it is slower than i was anticipating. And all the tools are there, they just do not open for some reason. Which is a whole different issue that i haven't figured out yet. I was hoping that perhaps one of you may have an idea if the two questions i have posed will work, or could maybe shed some light on how to go about accomplishing what i am trying to do. Or if any of you know of a version of Kali that will work on my tablet or maybe even one someone has already built for this particular model. Any guidance, tips, or knowledge on this subject will be very much appreciated. I understand going out and buying a laptop or a tablet with an image supported on Kalis website would be the ideal and most efficient solution, but i have a bad habit taking the hard way to gain some more information and knowledge haha. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and thanks in advanced for any responses .

Really? Your filehosting process involves your clients having to run a not-further-justified.exe... to access your http download?
I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation
but until then

Well my antivirus detected their .exe as trojan, when I asked them about it, they said it is because software use encryption.
The TIM (Europe IT/Italy) firmware K350n10e_00_0217.kdz for k350n is a little faulty. Once its flashed and phone is set up (google account and lg stuff) the home screen is not working (flashing or just blank) but if you have a backup (in lg backup) of your former homescreen and you can get into settings then you can restore your earlier homescreen and everything will be just fine.
Keep in mind that it's the febr.01. security patch so it can't be rooted. However the bloatware and the useless apps can be removed (with a lot of patience - it takes like an hour or so).

As its in the title... stock. MM6.0. Basically there is no difference in these roms but the boot animation in some cases and some custom apps. Maybe the newer builds contain some fixes in the firmware but im not sure. However i tend to use the newest one always.
And how to flash this kdz's? LG Flash tool won't flash it.

For "such noob" as you are i suggest to read the threads so you may have some knowledge of what you are about to do just as most of us does. Thats why there are the threads separeted for each step very well described so we dont need to tell everyone what to do... if you have some questions after reading the related threads you can ask me in pm and ill gladly answer.
