Guide on how to actually use Radiocomm 11.11.11?
I've only seen screen shots for it but it has a lot of options and looks like a really complex program. All I need it for is to simply flash SPRecovery.spf on my phone when I root it. So could anyone link me to a Radiocomm flashing guide or at least tell me what I need and what to do and if I need to do it before or after rooting? Thanks and I've rooted a lot but never changed recoveries, all the one click root apps give me recoveries that I hate such as RA-eris V1.6.2 because they are a pain. I'm manually rooting my Eris [I've already done manual rooting before] and just choose my own recovery and SPRecovery has gotten a lot more kudos than RA-eris v1.6.2 [Amona Ra?] and ClockworkMod. If anyoen also knows of any other recovieres they like better than please let me know, but for now just a good how to guide for flashing with Radiocomm. Thanks a lot in advance guys! =]

Hi There,
I apologize for not having any links off hand, (though i may be able to update int he future).
I know i have ran across a few guides for radiocomm on the internet... Try using Google.com, and keep an eye out for .pdf files..
I am sure you can tinker around in the menu's also... It is a very robust program...
And, just curious... Did you mean to say .SBF file? instead of .spf?
Good Luck

Here You Go,
I found an older manual for Radiocomm... Idk where i found it, or how helpful it may be... but it's a step in understanding...
Good Luck

yep this tool is interresting...
Here is version 11.12.2

Thanks for posting these files but I can't get them to work. They will not find any of my phones. I have the motorola drivers installed and my puter finds the phone but the radiocomm program won't connect, it stays red. I am running windows 7 with motorola 5.5 drivers, net framework 4 is installed. I tried it in compatability mode, the phones are set to pc mode. my phones are a droid 2 global, and two are a bionic. Can someone please help me out?? Thanks!

For all to know.
The low level tools are written for use with WinXP or lower.
Use with a newer Windows in XP-Mode at your own risk.
That's why to keep an old XP machine (or Win2K) on hand.

Good info everyone!!
Here is a backup link to the version epsylon updated us with.. :]

Well technically the most important thing with these kind of programs is the bits. Most of them are written for 32bit OS.
I'm using win8 32bit and all of my tools work fine. Just used Radiocomm today and yesterday to read some info from some older motorolas.
Granted not *everything* will work. I had to use Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0 or newer to get it work right.
5.0.1 or older would BSOD on me when I tried to do too much with the RIM Virtual Serial Port.

How to use this program to enable the FM radio on my Motorola phone? Someone claims to have done this using this program but he's not responding to requests for more information. I've installed the program but don't want to brick my phone. In the past I've messed with other programs like QPST and QXDM to enable additional bands so I'm not an entire newbie. Thank you.

[Ask Your Questions Here] Questions And Answers for Vogue Users

All,
Due to good success in the Blue Angel section, I have decided to open a Questions and Answers thread on this section of the forum as well. This will be good to keep the number of new threads with questions down to a minimum, which will make new threads essentially for people that are contributing to the Vogue in any way. This includes but is not limited to people that are providing
*New Roms and Kitchens
*Programs and Apps
*Fixes
*Skins
*Tips and Tricks
However, I have a life (and so do most of you), which is why I would like to request the help from other Seniors (or anyone who knows the answer really ) to monitor the thread as well. This will have the added side effect of creating an ever self updating knowledge base that will far extend the content of the Wiki. This will in turn save us from having to answer the same question 37000 times...
Without further ado, lets go for it!

GOOD IDEA!
Hi there Gents any input
Barogi awesome so far for v2; media player not staying in full screen mode though, and manila home weather under clock wont update when you push update now also getting error message for manila home on reboot
Great idea for a faq page!
I have been using a NFSfan rom on my bell vogue for a while, and it crapped out today for some reason. Rather than put another WM build on it, I wanted to change to Android.
I have looked through many pages in here, but I can't find a simple tutorial on switch from a custom WM build to a Android build. I prefer to use the NAND method so that I don't ever have to see WM again...
Can someone create or point me towards a step-by-step guide for installing Android? Keep in mind that I have absolutely no Android experience, and that my custom ROM is completely messed up, so would it make for sense to flash the a manf build and upgrade from there?
Thanks

As far as WMP, Barogi will have to look into it since it is his rom.
One last thing, please do not double post. Thanks for understanding...
I have a question:
I recently flashed the Bell rom with the latest radio (I couldn't get the radio only nbh to apply properly), and then subsequently flashed with the latest NagROM rom (which is awesome btw).
Now of course, at startup i have the nice HTC screen with the rom version etc, followed by an AWFUL blue BELL screen (and then the nice orange wm6.5 screen).
Is it possible to change the blue BELL screen? And if so how?

There was a cab to change that somewhere around here in this section of the forum. Alternatively, you can flash NFSFan's rom (which will get rid of it), or you can try mine as well and then reflash Nag's rom.

Question from mac+htc

Hey everyone,
So I was running NSFANS 6.5 ROM on my device (Amazing ROM btw) But I needed to revert back to the stock rom. I used the VZW updater to go back to the stock rom and I changed the esn on line. When I dialed the *228 and choose option 1 I got a failed message. So I called customer support and he walked me through a manual programing. Well that got voice working but when I went to use the data it wouldn't work. I made sure all the network settings were right, and I still couldn't connect. Well then I hard reset the device and now I am back to square 1. No voice no data. Is this something from NSFANS rom that is messing the phone up? I don't want to call again because their tech support takes forever and I am afraid they are just going to tell me to take the phone into the store. Thanks in advance!

Why did you change the E$N? Where you using the device in a different carrier?
Back to your problem. Your EPST settings should survive a hard reset as those are parameters that are not stored in Windows (afaik). It really makes not difference which rom you are using (at least for Voice and SMS).
Lets focus on your main phone's capabilities first. If your EPST settings truly got lost, you will need to get them from Verizon again. The main ones are the MSD and MIN. Make sure that you write them down this time as you will need them again if they go bye bye.
As for your internet, you will probably need to set the correct username in the phone's programming as well (also info that you will need from Verizon, but it should be something like [email protected] or something like that)
Do that and let me know if this works. They will have to program this for you this time, but once you have the values that I mentioned before, you will be able to do it yourself.

I have android 2.1 currently on my vx6900, Id like to go back to close to stock Rom, but without all the verizon carrier "flavorings" and rescrictions.
Any ideas? Personaly I liked the simple clean useage of win 6.0 without all the extra graphics ( besides the HTC home plug in and the touch flo )

Try to get Barogi's latest "lite" rom. Also, you can't go wrong with vin's 28014 or NFSFan's rom. I would recommend mine, but I think they might be a little heavy for what you want. Good luck.
i checked out NSFSfan. It was nice, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much for what I want. Ill check out the other you suggested before i just flash back to stock rom

Try to avoid stock if you can... it has a bad tendency of being too heavy on the extra apps.
I checked out just SS's of both. Both look awesome, but theres something about the simple look ( or im just used to it since my 8125 ) of the stock look. I would like to have the look but the added memory of a cooked rom.
With NSFSfans, could you remove the today screen plug ins to get back to a more stock look?
Im runnin 2.1 android eclair at the moment, and im barley pulling a full day battery with no data/bluetooth. With the old winmo, I was getting 2.5 days-3days. Thats another main concern for me.

Dangerous noob needs advice on tools for a project

I am a dangerous noob, know enough to be dangerous literally. I am in search of the easiest to use software to build ROM's.
What I plan to do: Cook a Android ROM for the TP2 that is CDMA compatible.
The questions I have are:
1. What kitchen do you recommend to do this?
2. Is there software to import a .cab to compile a new ROM?
3. Is there software to import a custom ROM and start work from there?
( I would like to use the GSM rom, but rewrite it to CDMA, as most of the GSM drivers are the same)
I think I can get everything I need by using the existing GSM android TP2 cab( thanks to all here for making that), the SPRINT hero ROM (http://developer.htc.com/), and the A rom of the sprint TP2. ( I actually got the GSM android to see the sprint network lastnight with some reg edits)
I have searched here and found tons of programs, but almost all were out of date or 404 errors. Basicly my searches are slow since the servers are loaded up here, and i cannot mine the info i need. If someone could please point me in the right direction it would be GREAT.
Oh yes, I am using windows, but can setup a linux box if needed. or I can use a VMware image if needed, but I would rather build as much as possible in windows.
Please point me in the right direction!
Thank you

Re-Install the base rom

If you are looking to re-install the base rom I found out that it can't be re-installed through the flasher program the rom is within. It checks the software version on the phone and sees that it is the same as the rom you are trying to install. However, I found a solution. Since the Incite flasher doesn't check this I took the Incite flasher and placed the eXpo rom in the flasher. I changed some of the files that the flasher was pointing to to the ones that are for the eXpo and repacked the flasher. I ran the flasher and it installed to my phone. Here is the repacked flasher for the eXpo and IQ for those that want to flash the base rom.
eXpo:
http://www.mediafire.com/?bmmoidmymfj
IQ:
http://hotfile.com/dl/33211312/b9c9f5e/IQ_ROM.exe.html
The flasher is set to install under windows 7. If you are using xp changed the install path to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
If you are installing under windows 7 remember to set the flasher to xp compatibility mode and to run as an admin.
WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH USING VISTA. IT WILL NOT WORK AND YOUR PHONE WILL NO LONGER FUNCTION. YOU WILL NEED TO GET TO AN XP OR WIN7 COMPUTER IF YOU TRY TO FLASH UNDER VISTA.
sweet thanks dude.
btw this really blows.. cuz i have vista on my laptop
edit : still kinda curious if it's gonna work

Yeah vista is an issue with the flasher since day one of the Incite days. There have been those that were successful flashing with vista using a virtual machine running xp or win7, but it is risky and if something goes wrong your phone may no longer function.
Any chance you can provide the link again?
Thanks!

Says ROM is taken down?
I just got my LG Expo today, and I am not as happy with it as I had hoped.
I am also hesitant to install this ROM because I may return it for the Tilt2.
Dilemna's Dilemnas!.
So if i take the plunge, and flash the updated ROM, will I be able to get it back to stock and return if it just isn't working for me?
I love the snapdragon, but the HTC's have been very kind to me, and he new dual booting into android is just great stuff.
Let me know about this base ROM thanks!
Brandon
A new link for the base rom is on the first page. I posted it to mediafire this time so hopefully it won't be removed.
Thanks Dark!
This EXPO getts better by the minute!! I think an update to 6.5.3 is all it needs really!! I probably will keep it in the long run. Tilt2 has the nice screen, but i can't see myself giving up the snapdragon now that its in my hands.
I do like SOME (very little) of the LG stuff, but LGidles as a whole is no good really.
I like LG Contacts and LG Scheduling nice enough, and mobile banking.
Plan on taking the plunge in the next few days on the custom ROM dark. I will let you know how it goes

[Q] Ubuntu on my G2?

Before I begin, let me explain.
I checked links in the sticky in the Dev thread, but the links are all broken, and multiple issues have been reported.
When I still had my G1, I made it the ultimate nerd machine. I was able to get Debian on it, including AndroidVNC and LXDE, all thanks to JesusFreke's RC33 modded firmware.
Of course 2.5 years later, times changed. security was amped up, etc.
I LOVE Ubuntu (makes me wonder why I stuck with Micro$oft Window$ for the last five years) Can anyone please direct me to a tutorial optimized for the G2/Desire Z/etc. where the links aren't broken?
On a side note, can anyone tell me where I can find a tutorial to install adb/AndroidSDK on my netbook (on Ubuntu 10.10)? I'm tired of having to use Window$ just to make use of adb.
All help would be greatly appreciated

I gave up on trying to run a permanent Ubuntu image on my phone. It's not that the hack doesn't work, it's that it only works once. I'm still having a fun time showing off my Gingerbread-fueled G2 to the coworkers still on stock Froyo (and then offer to root and upgrade it in exchange for money).

[Q] install androidOS after HSPL cooked rom?

I flashed HardSPL on my tilt 2 last year with the Energy Rom using the GTX theme. Ever since I've been noticing that android is so much easier to use and I have been reading on the android Froyo development.
What I need to know is if I have to reflash Stock Rom with SSPL to be able to Flash the Android OS to it.
I've read all the FAQs and I have not seen this question on it and am wondering if anyone can answer it for me.
I don't know if I missed it or if I was looking for the answer at the wrong place.
So can someone please give me a link to a guide on how to do it properly because I don't want to brick my phone on the process. Also tips and precautions if you got any. Thank you!
Android can't be flashed to the phone a la WinMo yet.
Devs are working on it. Works great on my CDMA RHOD, but GSM is still a mystery...
To answer your question, you would need an unlocked bootloader (hSPL) to flash any unsigned image.
Android in its current form for our devices will run on stock SPL or hSPL, it doesn't care... everything runs off the SD card.
more questions
What is an Unasigned Image and what does it do or what is it for? Thank you for your answers.
Also how fast does Froyo run on the SD card. Is it slow? Is there a program to make android to auto start instead of it having to transtion from WM to android?

Unsigned image = anything that's not a stock ROM.
FroYo runs about as well as you can expect on our hardware... which I might mention predates Android entirely... Proc+RAM dates to 2007 on the TP2. Thanks HTC...
For making Android auto-start, search is your friend. Gen.Y is your answer.
Oh nice I didnt see it was you arrgggh. Ive read you posts all day for the past 3 days. I constantly wonder how you guys know all this stuff.
Have you guys thought about video instructions or image instructions for the forum?
I also had a question concerning your device. When you flashed the Cooked Rom on your device ( i know, not the android, its not cooked ) did it change the buttons on your keyboard? Mine did and Ive been looking like crazy for a program that allows me to set the keys to what ever character I want. I did come across it a year ago, but nowadays that post is long gone. Thank you for all your help.

Video/image instructions...? A few have made videos, but stuff changes so frequently it would get outdated very quickly. A PITA to maintain... It's really not that difficult, is it?
I assume you're talking WinMo. I haven't used it in over a year - but there was some weird issue that effected only Sprint devices, and there was some cab that I installed that fixed the issue. Sorry, I'm not much help for WinMo. Ask cajunflavoredbob, I just tell people not to use it .
