[Q] Does the "Standard Dock" have audio out?

Motorola mentions that you can "listen and charge". Does anyone know if this means that the dock has a line out like the multimedia dock? I want to get a dock to use as an alarm clock but it takes a train coming through my bedroom to wake me up. I'd rather spend the extra couple bucks and get the multimedia dock to get line out.
I looked everywhere online and no one has any pictures of the back of the dock.

How about a 'Motorola Atrix' webtop dock?

Hey guys,
First post on here, but loving my new Sammy GSII..(upgraded from an HTC Desire)
I have a question, or more a wish really, anybody know if the GSII is gonna get a webtop keyboard / Screen / Dock like the Motorola Atrix?
Ok I know the answer would be no, but it seems like a brilliant concept and the Sammy is way more powerful than the Atrix....
Would be nice to think that Sammy feel it has this potential too....
I don't think there's any option for this so far, but with USB host support (USB on the go) plus HDMI out, this should all be possible through the MHL usb/hdmi combined port.
I hope some generic docks like the atrix one become available for any android handset with USB and HDMI, plus possibly tablet docks which also integrate a capacitive touch panel.
Edit: possible issue: I'm not sure if you can use the Micro USB port for USB on the go AND MHL (HDMI) at the same time. Does anyone know if this will be possible?
if they released a touch screen dock, what would be the point of the galaxy tab 10.1 ?
on the plus side, the galaxy S2 already has dock sensing as it knows to switch to a basic big button screen when it is placed in a car dock ! given the right software it could switch to a honeycomb type layout when in the touch screen dock
The webtop mode is actually linux (albeit Limited) itself which launches once u place the atrix in the dock or use the webtop hack. it allows u to have an open window of your phone on your screen. it doesn't just mirror what is already there.
bit more info on how it looks here

I was thinking of a third party dock rather than Samsung, but even if Samsung did make a dock, there would still be people who want a tablet that doesn't require a phone to be inserted for it to work.
That would be great if it could auto-sense the dock & load a honeycomb type layout, as I'm sure it's possible to load a tablet launcher & normal launcher into memory, then switch when the phone is inserted to the dock or removed.
The Atrix does more than just mirror the phone, and if it would be possible to do this with the S2, great, but even if it were just mirroring a custom tablet-optimised launcher, then that could work well and be easier.
Not sure if it would be possible to 'mirror' to a higher res display, but increase the resolution to match the bigger screen?

Nexus One type dock?

Okay ive never had the Nexus S but I've had the Nexus One before and hands down, I loved that phone besides the annoying multitouch issue. But what I also liked was the dock that you simple slide the phone in portrait mode and the pin connectors from the phone and dock will connect, charging the phone. Anyone think the GNex will get something similar? I have seen how the pins have been used so far besides this car dock that I seen on the accessory sub forums. A Nexus One charging style dock would be good
You would be happy to know that the Galaxy Nexus has its own multitouch problem so it will seem even that much more familiar.
That being said they have announced the dock you are looking for but have not yet released it.
I got this dock from ebay, $15 including shipping. Fits perfectly.
Only thing is, I though it was going to switch into a desk clock or something when it was docked. Nothing happens, screen just switches off after the usual delay. Maybe a "proper" dock using the metal-edge connectors are needed for this functionality. Anyone knows?

Dock Help

Does any one have a dock for the note?
Did you get it off ebay? (Here for example)
I want to get one - but really only if it put the note into dock mode. I like to use it as a night stand clock.
If these dont work to put the phone into dock mode - does any one have a suggestion of what dock will? except the 80$ one from samsung.
You might wanna check "Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 I9220 SGH-I717 Multimedia Desktop Dock EDD-D1E1BEGSTA". You can find it on the eBay.
(Im a new user so cant give you a direct link)
You can also find "Genuine Samsung Galaxy NOTE Desk Charge Dock N7000 EDD-D1E1BEG Desktop Cradle !" for 60' ish $
I checked and you can get the cheap on from amazon for like 25$. I think I am going to do that unless someone has any suggestions.
Does anyone know what puts the phone into dock mode? I'd like to build my own landscape dock and am curious about this.
I bought the Phillips AS351/37 fidelio docking speaker for android. It's on Amazon for $112 but I bought mine at Best Buy for $99. It's a dock/speaker system specifically for android phones....it holds my Tmobile Galaxy s2, Htc Sensation and my GNote....it has little wheels on the usb dock where you can adjust it to fit your phone or if you have the usb port on the side of the phone instead of the bottom. It works by bluetooth and the speaker quality, imo, is awesome! It says to download the fidelio app from the play store, you dont have to, I did and its not bad, it has clock mode, alarm mode, brightness settings along with weather forecast. It has radio stations and has the app "songbird"....you can find that in the play store as well. It's just a music app, its ok but I rather use the google play music app. All in all its one of my favorite docks, and I have a few. It doesnt automatically set off the dock mode but like I said, the fidelio app puts it in to dock mode. Phillips has a few different ones, one that has a built in alarm clock with digital display, one that is a round speaker with a nightlight...which is the one that i wanted but when I went to best buy to look at it the GNote overpowered it as the speaker isnt all that big. You can find all the Phillip android docks on amazon. Read the reviews....they have great reviews....I should have posted the link to the one I got, sorry, I'll repost with it.

What i did is a simple use of tasker to activate the clock dock screen when usb is charged. You can also improve it by detecting your home wifi SSID so that it only converts when you are at home. This saves you a ton of money with the cheaper docks. Hope it helps!
Forgot to mention that the fidelio dock I got has a USB port in the back to charge a second device.....which I find super helpful since I have 3 phones.

Desktop Dock Existence Question

Perhaps this is a thread better for Q&A, but I figure it is specifically about an accessory. As I've done searching through various gadget sites and Google I've yet to find an accessory for the SGSIII as below:
Coming from the Droid X, there existed a dock which when the DX was placed in it the phone would go into desktop dock mode. I forgot where I got mine. I think it was an ad on droid-life that I clicked through. I've seen that Samsung has a dock that charges the phone and is a multimedia dock, but it appears as if it holds the phone in portrait mode. Is there a dock that allows the phone to sit in a landscape position and have the screen show a clock, calender, etc.?
On another note, does anyone know if the SGSIII's dock is triggered via magnets as the DX was?

S3 does not trigger by magnets.
you have 2 options:
USB trigger, or NFC tag.
BUT samsung has a nice dock with multimedia out, and there are a couple aftermarket ones too... that i can't yet link to.
Hopefully they'll release a desktop dock with HDMI and USB OTG on it, in addition to a charger port. Would make a nice portable computer...
I wish I could put my DX into the "desktop dock" mode to snap a picture of it. It doesn't seem to want to cooperate with CM7 on it. Perhaps it was a Blur thing. I mainly wanted to have this big ass clock/calender/news ticker to sit on my desk. I sit on the corner of cube row so people probably would break their neck as they rounded the corner checking it out!
