Thisis to tell you to know the consequence of "kingroot"ing
1. After rooting, if you edit/uninstall any stock app/file , then you can never update through OTA
2. There will be always a update for your system that google will send you..and when you try to update it, it will show error
3. This is the case even unrooted through app
final thought,....if you want o stay getting the ota..never do it
or in other way of speaking.....if you don't want OTAs from google and want to just rootand remove unwanted apps..rootking is way to go
Did i help you? if yes i will tell more infos for you which are useful:angel:
Bro. I also used kingroot nd now m getting ota but when i installing update everytime getting errors please help me.. :crying:

Are you using Xposed? Xposed modifies your system partition and OTAs don't work with a modified /system. Open Xposed and uninstall all of the modules, then uninstall Xposed. The OTA should work for you then.
Hi, i have some kind of problem with my nexus 7 2013.. I already have lollipop 5.1.1 official on my tablet and have root and unlocked bootloader (root with king root, yes it works and is rooted.. And bootloader unlocked with boot unlocker.. I know you might think that this are not the best way of rooting or unloking the bootloader but it worked for me and im happy) and since yesterday the tablet keeps telling me to update via OTA the 5.1.1 update witch i already have..i press update to install it as normal, it reboot as normal too and when it shows me the parte where it suppose to be installing the update (you know, with the android with the chest open part) the only thing that says is "error" it doesn't install anything..i did this like 3 times now and every one of them says error.. The annoying part is that it keeps showing me the notification to update it..so any solutions? Thanks!
Sorry for bad english blah blah...
You can't take ota updates if you modify system files, you did that with root. Don't know why it's showing you 5.1.1 when you already have it.
Just flash the factory image with fastboot (probably no need to wipe, just flash boot.img and system.img and format cache).
That should fix the problem. It will also remove root. I'd recommend not using that king root **** but whatever. Probably better to just flash the su zip in twrp or use CF-Auto-Root.
When the next update comes remember you won't be able to take the ota. But that doesn't matter since google posts factory images and all you need to do is flash it with fastboot, then root again.

Hey guys
As I searched these threads i didnt see anyone talking about how to root the Desire 820n a51ul model(single sim)
So please help me with these questions:
1.how to root this model?(and if there is any driver needed on pc or sth)
2.how to install twrp recovery?
3.lets assume i rooted my device, will i be able to do the official ota update like before?(from settings)
i mean doesnt it brick my device if I update it while im rooted?
4.and if it wont brick the device, will i still be rooted?(i guess not)
so in one sentence, I want to have a rooted phone with custom recovery but I dont want to install any custom rom or ruu and just want to update through settings-software updates setion like before, is it possible?!
current firmware: 2.10.401.4 lollipop latest update for single sim variant D820n a51ul

Have fun!
P.S: After you root your phone, as far as I know you can't upgrade your phone via OTA mode, I tried it and now I have a bricked phone. But there's way instead. So don't worry, just remember to make the backup before you want to do sth, so that your phone will be safe.

Hello guys. I've rooted my phone using King-Root, One Click method. Now, I need my phone to be unrooted, because I want to upgrade OS version through the official system upgrade option. Will flashing stock rom unroot my phone? Please guide me.

I'm getting a message that says 'Can't check for updates while in roaming network. Connect to wifi network.' As I can't connect to a wifi right now, am unable to capture the screenshot of the software update notification. My current OS version is 5.1.1 and I'm getting an update notification for OS v6.
Back to my topic, is there a way to unroot the phone? It would really help me.

Are you sure its v6? Do you have K420DS (Indian) version. You can remove root in the Kingoroot App or Root manager app. Check that once. A better thing would be if you take a screenshot we can confirm it with other users of K420DS.

It's a Software Update. I have unrooted my phone using SuperSU. Though I have confirmed the unroot using Root-Cheker, the second picture is of the error I got while installing the update -
What options do I have now?

Yes, it's not marshmallow!! Just a simple bug fix update. I rooted my phone in January, so I couldn't install this update. This update notification is long due for me (kinda forgot what it was exactly, hence the misunderstanding)
But still, my issue isn't solved. You got any clue why am I getting this error? Will re-rooting my phone properly and un-rooting again solve it?

Since your system is modified .i.e. you have "root" access, OTA updates don't work.
I watched a few videos on YouTube on how to upgrade the Android O/S but none of them mentioned that it needs to unlock the bootloader 1st.
So before I found out that I need to unlock it I tried installing ROM before I knew that.
The phone came with Android Kitkat 4.4.2 and there is an official Lollipop for it that I want to install.
The device is rooted with Kingroot.
I tried the installations two times and the phone still works but I can no longer boot into recovery mode or fastboot mode. It just hangs and then I need to remove the battery to get it to work again.
I just want to restore it back to what it was before and then I will work on unlocking the bootloader.
I prefer to use tools that are free of cost.
Issue has been resolved.
I flashed the device with a pac file using SPD upgrade tool and now all is back to default.

Can you please tell me where I can find the "pac file" and "SPD upgrade tool"?

You meant un-official, right?
Sorry for the delay. I check the linked email once per month.
Do you still need help on this?
I thought that it was official Lollipop. But it does not exist for this phone.
Yes I can help you get it to what ever you need but it is not easy if you want to do more than just resorted it back to default.
I will tell you more if you still need it.
