Hello guys. I've rooted my phone using King-Root, One Click method. Now, I need my phone to be unrooted, because I want to upgrade OS version through the official system upgrade option. Will flashing stock rom unroot my phone? Please guide me.

I'm getting a message that says 'Can't check for updates while in roaming network. Connect to wifi network.' As I can't connect to a wifi right now, am unable to capture the screenshot of the software update notification. My current OS version is 5.1.1 and I'm getting an update notification for OS v6.
Back to my topic, is there a way to unroot the phone? It would really help me.

Are you sure its v6? Do you have K420DS (Indian) version. You can remove root in the Kingoroot App or Root manager app. Check that once. A better thing would be if you take a screenshot we can confirm it with other users of K420DS.

It's a Software Update. I have unrooted my phone using SuperSU. Though I have confirmed the unroot using Root-Cheker, the second picture is of the error I got while installing the update -
What options do I have now?

Yes, it's not marshmallow!! Just a simple bug fix update. I rooted my phone in January, so I couldn't install this update. This update notification is long due for me (kinda forgot what it was exactly, hence the misunderstanding)
But still, my issue isn't solved. You got any clue why am I getting this error? Will re-rooting my phone properly and un-rooting again solve it?

Since your system is modified .i.e. you have "root" access, OTA updates don't work.

Did anyone else got the new update of about 1.8mb after upgrading to marshmallows?
And has anyone updated it?
Well my phone is rooted so I cannot install the update right now and would like to know what changes and bug fixes does this update brings.
Nope.
No...!!
Just a heads up. This update does not fix the battery issue. It's just a monthly security update.
let me know the issue

I came across this problem and thought that i have changed some settings and that was the reason. When i open the battery settings i have noticed that the mobile is awake even when the mobile screen is tuned off. While I tried to install superuser from root i lost IMEI numbers in my mobile for which I contacted warranty support and they restored to stock 4.4.4. Now i got a system update that android 6 is ready to download, but afraid of poor battery back up i am now running on 4.4.4. Please let me know if there is a fix released by google for this, so that i can upgrade to marshmallows. Thanks.

the reason why they loaded my mobile with stock ROM is that i lost IMEI numbers. As there is no direct android 6.0 ROM available for android one mobile i guess if you go to your ASC and tell them that your mobile is acting buggy and you need it to be restored to its original settings, the possible thing they do is to flash it with the stock 4.4.4 ROM. Don't forget to tell them that you will update your mobile at your home and just ask them to flash it to stock 4.4.4. I hope this will help you
I just tried to update via downloading and then letting the phone install it, but it just rebooted me into recovery and when I clicked reboot and the phone turned back on, it said the update was corrupted.
Or do I not need to worry about OTA's anymore? Going to be flashing CM13 whenever it becomes available anyway.
Interested in the response to this, my strategy will be to stay stock for a week or two to get OTA updates, then root when good custom rom is available, on the assumption the dev will update rom with OTA updates. I'm new to HTC so please let me know if this approach is flawed

Hello guys
You can't use OTA's when you change the original recovery. You need to reflash it to HTC version to complete the update.
All explanations can be find there :

Hi guys I'm having same problem. I rooted my HTC10 and now I can't install official updates. My question is: it's really a problem that? Never Upgrading anymore my smartphone I'm going to loose something important?
And when this device will be upgraded to Android N what happens?
Rooting it I blocked forever my device? Never more official updates?
Please let me know

It is a problem you should always be up to date with your firmware. This problem can be resolved BY flashing the RUU for your device.
Excuse me yldlj, what RUU means?

Thank you CoCrop18 for your post.
I read links and now I've an answer for the community:
Someone is considering to have a workaround that allow to install OTA updates (original or modified by community) in rooted htc10?
Or can we stress HTC to release OTA for rooted devices too because they allow us officially to root it?
I woke up to a System Update H83010d.
I got this update also but haven't installed it yet. The question is, have you been able to keep root after the update?
So I went ahead and tried the update while being rooted and having twrp installed. The update failed. Here is a screenshot of it. What is weird is the failed message says this update is for an h1 device but mine is an h830.
So pls share something, is good bad update ?Battery life, camera or any other changes ?
I can confirm it fixed the issues I was having reconnecting to my stereo on Bluetooth

I'm using an unlocked H830 on AT&T and have tried getting the update with an unactivated T-Mobile sim, but no luck. I really hope this update would fix the static issue I have with the aux cord in my car.
Anyone have any suggestions?

if u want twrp/root.. get it on 10A first then flash the 10D complete zip.
if u dont want TWRP/root then update thru LG Bridge or LGUP + 10d KDZ
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...ock-h830-10d-rom-flashable-zips-imgs-t3406505
i got the update too. Is it safe to update and keep root? otherwise, is there a way to block the update? Does it maybe fix an issue where wifi randomly turns off?
PSA : Warning! If the update is installed you will brick your phone trying to go back to H83010a firmware.
The update fixed my GPS issues, no issues with locking on now.

Go to the thread by autoprime. You don't have to worry about accepting OTA plus it evidently will fail anyway.
I updated to 10D from 10a . Flawlessly.
Hi everyone!
New Android 7 Developer RUU is out. I remember that there were several problems with the last Android 6 security updates in September and October. So it wasn't possible to root with the latest SuperSU.zip
Instead you had to use an older version and update to the latest version with Play Store later.
Before I flash the Android 7 RUU, I would like to know if anyone already has experience with rooting latest Stock ROM?
Any problems which occurred? And if the root process was successful, which SuperSU Version have you used? Thanks in advance!

I've used this to root stock Nougat ROM and it worked fine https://download.chainfire.eu/1014/SuperSU/SR5-SuperSU-v2.78-SR5-20161130091551.zip
Anyway make a backup.. just in case it doesn't work
EDIT: It will reboot the phone at least 2 times before booting into system

No there's no need, at least I didn't change anything and it worked well
I just wanted to add this as a note as I did not see anyone else having these issues in nougat (7.0). Do not install SuperSU 2.78-201609011115. If you do your mobile data option in the notification bar will be grayed out. Your cell signal will have a slash through it and cell signal will no longer work. I do not know if other versions of SuperSU will also cause this symptom.
If this happens to you restore from a backup in recovery or if need be run the RUU again.
Mat08.cc's linked version of SuperSU does work!!!! Thanks!
My m9 doesn't want to upgrade. After it download the Nougat ,it says that I'm running modified system. My phone is att but converted to developer edition. The way I was updating my phone each time so far was with RUU file and I didn't gave any issues until now. Please help . Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is correct. The issue was that my CID was 11111111. Changed it to BS_US001, downloaded, installed successfully. Now I just ran in another issue. Tried to root it so I did: twrp 3.0.2, then installed supersu-v2.78, device booted, cinfirmed rooted but doesn't recognize that there is a sim card inside. Ideas? Thank you!!!

Reporting back:
After installing the SuperSU that you gave, everything works normally. Thank you very much.
There is an update which my phone didn't want to install. It said that the update is for himaulatt and my phone is himaul. Is it because phone is rooted and with twrp recovery? When I install the update manually via RUU from laptop, works fine. It just pisses me off cause I have tk start from scratch with my phone but update is successful. Had this issue for a while now amd was trying to figure it out. I really don't want to keep wiping the phone every single time there is an update. Thank you in advance.

It's fine. I was gonna be rooted only for a short time just to check those things out. It sucks not having root but I'd rather not deal with the lag from the boot image if it worked on this update that is. Maybe someone will crack this update in time cause nothings unhackable.
So is downgrading possible still or does this update block downgrading to? I haven't tried yet but if you have then save me some time

The U firmware would remove the Verizon bloatware. For example, if you left Verizon and went to T-Mobile...the U firmware of T-Mobile firmware could be installed to get the full bands for LTE coverage available. But if you are on Verizon and happy, probably not worth the trouble.
