Are you using Xposed? Xposed modifies your system partition and OTAs don't work with a modified /system. Open Xposed and uninstall all of the modules, then uninstall Xposed. The OTA should work for you then.

Hey guys,
So I recently bought the Verizon HTC One M7 and it has the Sense 5.5 but I am trying to upgrade it to Sense 6. When I go to Software Update it says that I can only update it on CDMA. Is there a way I can update it? I am overseas and I use GSM, not CDMA. And I don't see any YouTube videos on how to update it :/

S off or s on?
Either way downloading the update zip from the many places it's been posted here and copying it to the phone storage and then rebooting to stock recovery will allow you to update it. Choose the option to install from phone memory

When I go to Software Update it says that I can only update it on CDMA. I turn the phone to CDMA and it keeps looking for the update but finds anything.
Also, I tried to flash the OTA with the stock recovery but it gives me an error saying: "Mount SDCARD Failed 5 times" and when I choose the apply from phone storage, it says "Invalid operation.. .CID something"
I tried to unlock the bootloader from htcdev but it gave me this error: "Error Code: 160. Error Reason: MID Not Allowed."
Any HELP with this!? It's driving me crazy... I know it's possible but I just don't know how..
I NEED YOUR HELP GUYS!!! THANKS!!
Hi, first of all I want to say that I am relatively new to android and therefore only have a basic understanding of everything. My desire EYE is currently on 4.4.4 rooted and have been having problems upgrading it to 5.0, I know I have to unroot and return to stock in order to be able to flash the stock recovery and be able to then flash lollipop on there. Problem is whenever I flash one of the stock 4.4.4's found on here superuser installer is still there (even when I tell to TWRP to not install it) and when I got to the bootloader is still says that the software is Modified so am still unable to flash the stock recovery and get lollipop.
Can anybody help shed some light on this problem and possibly help me fix it?
Hi there,
I have found I was able to update using the procedure written in this topic. Could you see if that helps you?

Thanks for your reply but have already tried this and when I tried booting into the recovery menu it gave me the red triangle because I have modified system partition, and all my efforts so far to change it to official have so far been unsuccessful
In fact tried it again and it worked this time, however when I try and download the update on my phone a message pop's up saying my phone can't be updated because the software is modified and not official HTC firmware
Thisis to tell you to know the consequence of "kingroot"ing
1. After rooting, if you edit/uninstall any stock app/file , then you can never update through OTA
2. There will be always a update for your system that google will send you..and when you try to update it, it will show error
3. This is the case even unrooted through app
final thought,....if you want o stay getting the ota..never do it
or in other way of speaking.....if you don't want OTAs from google and want to just rootand remove unwanted apps..rootking is way to go
Did i help you? if yes i will tell more infos for you which are useful:angel:
Bro. I also used kingroot nd now m getting ota but when i installing update everytime getting errors please help me.. :crying:

Simply flash stock rom and you should be able to update again.
Hi all, its been a while since i posted but i am royally stuck, using various threads and guides i got my m8 vodafone uk back to stock, everything as it should be.
however i am seeing 3 very small OTA updates pending, the trouble is i cant for the life of me get them to download, each time i try i get an error saying "Download failed" "An error occurred while downloading the software updates."
all three of the updates info say that they are to prepare my device for the upcoming marshmallow update
any help would be greatly appreciated
Bump. This is happening to me too and I can't find any information on it. I just un rooted my phone and can't apply the update
