My phone is actually quite laggy now. Sometimes flicking between the menus lags so I have to restart my phone.
Also, high end processes such as the game asphalt lag A LOT.
Whats up? I thought this was "the most powerful phone in the world"?
+1 finding mine to lag a lot as well........
Mine also becomes increasingly laggy, the only thing that sort of works is using advanced task killer to stop the all the background running programs, some were running on mine i dont even remember opening!
Not finding this at all. I think it's certain apps that cause it as my phone is practically full of apps barely any space left but still not laggy.
EDIT: No task manager on mine either.
i have around 40 apps including asphault and sygic navigation and i nevered faced lag in my desire....!!!! the only time i restart the phone is when i have all of them running and cause i don't want to kill them with task managers i restart in order for it to close them itself.
Sorry but I must say, I'm a bit disappointed. The Phone is Luggy.
And I don't even dare to compare it to Iphone (And Yes I know it boosts more then twice the resolution of the Iphone), but still When I play Asphalt It looks like a Pentium 3 running - Crysis.
So... "Fastest Phone ever made"??? Maybe only on paper...
Asphalt for some reason does not run well on the Desire, the game is butter smooth on my Milestone. Let's hope they optimize it for the Desire as well, the game is quite good.
The phone does get very laggy unless you use a task manager. For a snapdragon powered phone it doesn't seem to be very "Snappy". It's seriously bad in the "All Programs" menu especially.
As for gaming, the milestone will unfortunately always be better than the Desire. It has an OMAP/PowerVR CPU/GPU combo (The same as the Nokia N900) which outclasses the Snapdragon in 3D gaming but is slightly slower in CPU intensive apps.
I've been attacked with huge consistent lag since 2 days now (unknown before) but it was the miscall app and app organizer running in the background causing it (as well as voraciously depleting the battery life) so not a problem here.

I have had it on my phone for a long time now and it goes smooth on every ROM i flashed including CM9(build 6 not 7 but there is not to much difference). Have you tried reinstalling? Restoring app from titanium backup or some other program can cause problems so don't do that just install it from apk.
same probleme here... freezing after start or fc.
How do I fix me have the same problemHow do I fix me have the same problem
Guys it happens when RAM usage exceeds more than maximum limit...as GTA 3 is an HD game...so do clear some memory before playing GTA 3....also if Running time of phone exceeds 4-5 days...Phone reboots while playing HD games...all because of less amount of RAM....

Try optimizing your Phone
Why not optimizing your phone?
Try deleting some unused system apps such as widgets, Live wallpapers.
Overclock your phone, though this will make your battery draining faster, you'll feel less lagger when playing games
I'm using this rom for a week now, and i have to say, i'm overly satisfied with it.
Apps that installed (wich matters): Lucky Patcher (nos system patches), Freedom (no freecore mode), SuperSU, GLTools, SwiftKey
Bugs(it doesn't really have any), issues:
-I only had 2 random reboots so far, but SwiftKey is force closing time to time(although it's not a problem - it restarts instantly, and you got the keyboard properly in no time).
-Flashlight is not turning on sometimes (maybe low battery could be an issue, i dont know).
-If you enable "Live Display", you'll have a massive framedrop (to be honest, it's not a big deal, i don't need it.)
-The default launcher's app drawer runs on low fps when sliding between pages(i have only 2 pages yet)
-Sometimes Google Play crashes when i browsing descriptions.
Pros:
-Its really smooth, and runs at 60 fps
-EVERYTHING works properly.
-It's 5.1! The perfomance is just great. Max free ram i had is around 460mb, avarage is 380, minimum is 230(when 5 games running in the back).
-In Antutu i'v got 21684, wich is acceptable i think, this was the highest score i got (i used Miui before).
-Heating is not an issue, it handles well, and stays below 50 celsius
-I can't say much about battery, but i think its same as on MIUI
I hope this can help desiding wheter to download the rom, or not.
---[UPDATE]---
The camera is useless in the summer. If the device is heating up, the camera cant set the brightness properly, and it scales from lowest to highest constantly. If the device is cooled down enough, it can be used again.
Also, heating causes massive framedrop (not a surprise though).
-----------------
You can find the ROM on Yirom. (Use Google Translator).
Great Ron
I am also using it for around a week now and totally agree with your view. I love the performance and battery life. BTW I got 22800 in antutu after a fresh boot. :good:
Hi, i want to share some experiences
My phone is samsung galaxy A70
When i played games, especially HD game, in the beginning there is no problem, but when i have played a while (especially in game battle that involved many characters, motions, effects etc) my phone memory suddenly slowed down, the game is not running smoothly like in the beginning.
I will have like 0, second lag/freeze. And it really annoy my gaming experience
I can guarantee it is not the connection problem
(And it is not the game frame rate/graphic either, because they are not happening from the beginning, if it is frame rate/graphic problem of course the problem will occur from i started the game or everytime i played it)
Base from my experience, i think problem like this it must be something wrong with the RAM
My phone has 6 GB RAM, and my still new, only 2 weeks since i bought it
I have another phone with 4 GB RAM playing the same game and it is running perfectly smooth in the same connection, NO LAG, NO FREEZE in every moment of the game.
No resources-hungry apps running in the background
No live widget feeds
No background sync
Only standard push notifications
So i was thinking maybe it is the system or driver problem that make the RAM doesn't run well
What do you think? What should i do?
Any informations or advices would be helpful and thank you very much (for reading) ?
If it is PUBG Mobile, my mobile also lagging with latest update

It's not a Ram problem. It's called throthling. Your phone reaches a certain temperature and the phone Throthless the speed of both GPU and CPU in order to protect it from overheating. Thats why this most of the time happens a bit later when playing.

Thanks for the informations mate
But how can i fix this problem?
Can do some setups in setting or something else?
But i doubt that is the reason
Because when i restart the game, it became normal again
If it is because of temperature, i guess it will remain the same although i restart the game

You can't fix this as it's not a problem. This is a normal reaction of most of the phones. Even computer GPUs work the same. When they reach a ceartain temperature "limit", they thortle down the speed in order to prevent the GPU from overheating.
Sure, it could be also the game, some bad optimization. RAM has nothing to do with it. 6GB ram is plenty and even much more RAM hungry games run good with so much RAM.
Of course, after restarting the gameor after closing the game, the phone cooles down, pretty fast, but in the same time it can heat up pretty fast, especially if you're using the phone or playing the games while charging the phone. The only solution would be to go for better phones, High End SOC's which can handle those game easily without any strugle.

If overheating is the problem, it should be immediately starts on first day i bought it, but this problem just came out after i used this A70 for 3 weeks, what do you think just happened here?
A70 gaming issues
I have same issue with A70, after 5min or 8min game play in pubg the device heats up lags freezes.
I talk to Samsung support centre they said with new update our device is ok,it may b from game.then I said to pubg developers and they said our game is fine it may be your device.
So in the end there is no specific solution
I done it in developer option, I use GPU for screen composite only, after this the game goes fine.
I'm not experiencing lag or freezes during gaming, instead my problem is that game tend to refresh while I'm multitasking, for a 6gb ram phone thats a bit disappointing, and its not even a high demanding game I think (epic seven), I don't know though could be the game's problem, but then google tend to refresh as well
I'm playing Call of duty mobile and the same thing happens to me and the brightness goes down
Purchase A70 or not for COD
I am currently playing COD on Samsung S8 & it runs smoothly. I am currently planning to purchase Samsung A70 especially for COD. Please advice what can i do (Purchase A70 or not)

I have Samsung A70 since autumn of 2019. I tried to play games like: Asphalt 9 (highest settings), FIFA Mobile (highest settings), NBA2K20 (I don't remember all settings are highest or some of them, anyway settings is not low), Call of Duty Mobile (Highest settings), also Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (Highest setting) and some others popular HD games. All games working smoothly, without any freeze or lag. My recommendations is: to uninstalled apps which u don't using at all or to disabled it, also do battery mid optimization, to turn off background working of apps which u don't need to work and keep to work only apps like: weather, if u have some widget and others where to need to update all the time information. From 6 GB RAM free always is about 2 - 2.5GB included that working Facebook which eating RAM a lot, weather or banking, sports apps and notifications. Bluetooth, GPS and others features which eating yours memory. I don't remember about Pugb Mobile, I guest I tried it without any problems, ran smoothly, but fact that I don't like this game at all for strange (if i'm not wrong) blue zone, when u have some time to run somethere before this zone kills u. I always don't know where to run, coz always i'm on zone, also why this happening at all. For the same reason I don't play this mode on Call of Duty Mobile too. Anyway this phone is really good for gaming, if you have trouble of lag/freeze try to all the time to do optimization of yours phone it very easy just one click on widget ir several if you did not that long time, also try sometime reboot yours phone, it recommend by manufacturers. Also to disable or uninstall apps which u don't need at all. By the way it not maybe important, but Samsung A70 have game app in which u can do more things to do better game experience like to turn off notification while u playing, also others things like to control to save battery or to do better game performance. By the way was one game which lag in this phone that NBA 2K Mobile, very big lag, even if is highest settings, but as I saw and I know it lagging in Samsung S10 too, so probably it problems of game, not phone. As I know this phone at this moment is not supported 100%, I know in Google Play u can download it, but as I mentioned it is not support, coz lag, the same I know that 2K saying too.

There is no reasons to do that. Simple things just free more RAM memory, do some changes like optimizations of battery, in Game app do better performance and ect. Turn off notifications which u don't need, to close apps in background which u don't need to work and others simple things, don't forget to sometime reboot smartphone. I do that everyday for several times if I playing all day. Coz battery can be alive several hours of full of playing games, so when I going to charge it, I do reboot too. It recommend by manufacturers.
Iam An Android Developer....But I Stopped Development for android since last year.....Iam Currently Using Galaxy A70 Also...Its a beast........i know why games are lagging and FPS Drop issue...its happening because of Software Optimization...Wait For April Security Patch Where Samsung Will Fix The Issue regarding fps drop and lagging in games...Its a Virtual Memory Bug....Which Can Be Fixed also by android developers but you need to root your device...i would suggest you to wait till april security patch ...after that u will notice a big improvement on gaming part and its related bugs...Ram Has Nothing To Do With It Guys....And SNAPDRAGON 675 SOC Is A Very Powerful SOC..And This SOC Is Capable To Run Any Games Smoothly...U Should Know That Guys...
So The Moral Of My Point Is Software Optimization
Thank You......
hello there,
I got the same device for Call Of Duty Mobile and unfortunately i'm facing major issues since android updated to 10.
It could be just a coincidence but, i didn't face the problems before the update. my problem is with the video mainly: the screen turns black, while i still can hear the sound, the device answers correctly to the moves i do when the screen is black (tested with an other player telling me what my character was doing).
to try to have root cause, i installed the app 'game booster plus from samsung store), and it seems that it's a problem of a temperature and / or Graphic processor) the idicators turn red before the game crashes.
i raised the issue to samsung and no solution from them until now... safe mode and basic stuff that doesn't help... like resetting the phone...
in my opinion, my last test should be hard reset the phone to get back to android 9 and try.
else I shoud try a cooler behind the phone while playing.
i'm really bothered , because this device should be a beast and i saw how amazing the game was on lower specifications like galaxy A51.
i'll post back here if any news.
Geekbench
Hi guys i have same problem with my a70 and maybe u want to check the OpenCL score of A70 in geekbench and compare it's score with A20,A20E,A30S
I don't know what is opencl maybe it affect the GPU
And excuse me for my bad English
Installed it about an hour ago (UK) and in general the phone seems a noticeably zippier for browsing and opening apps etc.
I am not a tech head, and the update is small, only 13 ish megabytes, but feels like the sluggishness I had been experiencing the last six months has gone somewhat. I had really set my mind and wallet on getting a Pixel 4a, but may stick with this a bit longer if the sluggishness has improved.
Wonder if others are finding the same ?

You rebooted to install it and that is known to temporarily solve the "ram issues" that android 10 has on this phone.
It's not the update.

Ohh, it is the update. This one really made the phone feel snappier, and visibly improved performance. Usually it slugs down to a crawl while I'm testing to see if it's still usable after the update, and even after 24hrs after the update it still works just fine, no hogs, no slow downs, minimal stuttering while heavy multi-tasking.
For example, on 11.0.7, go to Chrome, access fast.com (internet speed test) - it downloads and uploads a test file, so intensive i/o memory usage, and try closing the tab and chrome while still downloading... it's slow, it stutters a lot, it occasionally freezes the device, that doesn't happen anymore in august update. Also the speed limitation I was talking about in my review of 11.0.9 is now gone.

Apparently I rebooted this morning so I only have 16 hours of uptime. But I have been rebooting weekly so I feel it is still a bit early to be celebrating.
That said, I did just have XDA stay in memory while I downloaded podcasts, updated apps and opened some pages in both Firefox beta and Firefox (opening pages to copy urls over without sync).
Maybe it was a build.prop tweak. That would be small...

Actually what I want to say is I am using l speed and I have changed the RAM management profile to multitasking and that fixes my issue and basically it is it editing the build prop my question is if Xiaomi did the same thing and fix the issue isn't it good I mean I can do it with root but all they did was changed this thing which they could have done a long time ago but do keep in mind whenever I use this profile my battery drains a bit faster not like a lot faster only a little bit faster.

But now I'm curious so I'm gonna diff the partitions to find out what they changed.

I'm ... not seeing anything obvious
build.prop changed, but it's just timestamps and versions (ie. normal "make a release" stuff)
only boot, system and vendor were modified
I've attached the diff report (not changes, just modified files), minus a large number of .odex files.
Looks like some media lib bugs got fixed.
I dunno... also, I tried to run the diff on my phone and killed it so my uptime was reset again (finished the comparison on my computer, after converting and mounting the images).

I have downgraded to android 8.1 version 9.6.11.0
Tried that thing with fast.com no stutter nothing! I would suggest everybody who is tired with xiaomi updates on this phone to downgrade to android 8.1 like i did and it will remind the reason why you purchased this phone in the first place! Its super fast, super responsive, the statusbar icons dont take to much space, everything is working and games will be in ram even if you minimize at morning and reopen at midnight! I thought i would change my phone because it was useless and now it is faster than i ever remembered!
Nearly 4 days of uptime and my phone is once again killing apps as soon as I leave them.
Well nearly been a week now since the update, and definitely feels to me.that things have improved at lot in general use.
Not as good as it was brand new, but nowhere near as bad as it was getting the previous few months, and very usable.
Battery life seems to have gotten back to where it was before too.
